I so far in a change of circumstances in may 2013. I have still not heard from them have continually tried to call and always get cut off. I am currently on the phone to them so far 22 mins. On the recorded message it says they will only backdate 1 month are there any exceptions considering i have written and cannot get through to them by telephone.
  • Thank goodness I found this forum.
I have been trying to get through to them today because they haven't paid my tax credits this week and I have no money.
Im not even calling them to renew! I did that via post months ago. So people like me who have no money cant get through because of people who cant be bothered to fill out forms in a timely fashion!

Do you happen to have a child who recently turned 16 and is staying on in FT education?

A friend did not receive their payment today also, as although the change was noted on her claim some months back, it could not be actioned before 1st September. She has been assured it will be resolved by her payment due day next week. HTH.
    I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<3
  • Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes I have a child has just turned 16 and gone into further education.
The information you have given me has put my mind at rest abit.
I'm wondering if it is a problem that will sort itself out though or if they will only look at the accounts of people that call in and alert them that the payment hasn't been made?

I believe there is a recorded message on the TC Helpline that reassures claimants?

I'm home from work now so cannot ask my friend for sure. I expect there are huge amounts of people affected by this update, so perhaps this is an attempt to limit the number of people being connected to operators?

Maybe ring the TC Helpline again, and see if the message is there as it may reassure you ?

I must be one of the lucky ones...called after eldest picked up his A level results and got straight through and then called again Thursday last week and again, got straight through.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

i can't get through either. I haven't got paid this week and am now a bit concerned reading some of the above posts. I don't remember filling out a form to renew I don't even remember receiving one! My circumstances have not changed and child is 6 this year so nothing to do with education. Should I have done something? This will only be my second year on tax credits so not sure what I am suppose to tell them. Really worried now I'm overdrawn at bank due to this :(

EDIT: finally got through to them, mine is on an automatic renew so I didn't have to do anything. My payment day has changed thats why I haven't got it yet, be nice if they told you these things before hand  but a least I will get it this week I was really worried.
  • ive been trying for over a week to get through to tell them my boyfriend has now moved in with me .... 50 minutes I was holding last night before the phone battery went flat!! thing is, I know we earn too much between us to get anything so I want to inform them before yet another overpayment is generated (my credits are due Friday, my overpayments currently stand at £13k)

council tax people are just as bad too ... argh!!!
wading through the treacle of life!

    debt 2016 = £21,000. debt 2021 = £0!!!!
  • Tax Credit 'Helpline'......."we're sorry we cannot deal with your call....please call back another time"
This is the second day in a row I've tried to contact them about an ongoing mistake they made back on June 19th when my WTC payments stopped for no apparent reason. I was told back then to wait 7 weeks before contacting them as my case had gone to the department that dealt with this who would call me. Nobody called me, 7 weeks went by. When I called again, I was told that my case would be 'escalated' and would then be in the hands of the 'Restore Team' as of 12th Aug but no time scale could be offered but a mistake had definitely been made and any money owed would be back dated in full. We're now approaching the 12th week and I receive a Notice to pay the amount they have paid this Tax year so far but according to the notice it is for the period ending 06/04/13.....my original claim was only made the day before on the 05/04/13. And now I can't even report that!
My apologies for the long winded rambling but I'm loosing the will to live......
