What stops you going to the cinema?

There have been a couple of threads recently about problems with the whole cinema experience.
Obviously, different things annoy different people but I would imagine that for most of us it is an accumulation of minor niggles that cause us to either give up the cinema or go less frequently than we otherwise would.
A night out at the cinema, possibly with a meal before or afterwards, is a composite experience and as such, even if you get your money back for a bad experience, it is little compensation for a ruined evening.
Which of the following factors stop you going to the cinema or cut down the frequency of your visits?
I think this poll is misleading, clearly on here the answer will always come down to cost but realistically Im sure everyone agrees that having chavs and little girls sitting playing with their phones whilst eating crisps is enough to ensure I never go to a cinema again!
what is the point anyway? A large screen where the picture quality is lost (as it inevitably will be) or on your own in your own house with a beer, your own munchies (without !!!!ing everyone else off) and a full HD LED TV playing your full HD 1080p blu ray movie.

With hindsight I should have omitted the two 'cost' items as they are really a given, especially here!
However, as it was a multi choice poll we can still get a fair idea of the other things that stop people going.what is the point anyway? That would seem to be the best solution as apart from money, 'other people' were by far the most common complaint. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Yes, other people when it comes right down to it.
I'd rather view a film alone, at home, and wearing my earphones than be subjected to the noisy, smelly and expensive experience of actually going to a cinema.
It wouldn't bother me if every cinema shut down for good this weekend.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Its odd that no matter which forum a poll like this could be on and regardless of which type of people visit that forum, I bet the results will always be the same. The younger generation ruining everything again and other people eating 'mega bags' of crisps. why can we all clearly this but the cinemas can't? Do people still actually go to the cinema? I haven't been for a long time. Nowadays with the technology available that gives you the 'home cinema' experience there is just no need to. I bet in 10 years (maybe less) cinemas will be extinct.0 -
Plus:For me it's usually because: -
a) I saw the film years ago before they added "in widescreen", "digitally remastered" or "3D" on the end.
2) I saw the film years ago before the remake, remade remake or the re-imagined version (see The Omega Man/I am legend, or The Time Machine, or Dawn of the Dead, or...)
iii) I'd rather wait for the DVD to watch in the comfort of my own home without mobile phones ringing or dinging and have the added bonus of perusing the DVD extras and commentaries afterwards.
4) You can pause the DVD if you need the toilet, to get a drink/snack, the phone rings or the doorbell/door knocker goes off.0 -

The whole concept of a cinema is obsolete to me. Going to some special place to see the latest films, but always always ruined by other people. Nobs with mobiles or yapping/eating throughout. Utter crap - no thanks.
Whoever is first to allow us to watch at home on day of release is on to a winner! Ie just like iTunes etc but for films.0 -
Cost of tickets, cost of food/drink, other peoples noisy habits, lazyness (rather watch film on my own tv with surround sound)0

My American friends wanted me to go and ask someone if I could 'Bum a Fag' from them....0 -
the most annoying thing for me is the volume level, that followed by the ticket price"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0
