I phoned Virgin and got a reduction of sorts but I was hoping for more.
We get the 3 for £30 bundle, (large TV, free weekend calls, and 1MB broadband)and recently my bh opted (in February) for the Sky Sports 1,2,3, package without any haggling! Now he's added the Vplus box for £15 a month, it comes tomorrow. Total £74 a month.
She said she could only reduce it to £64 and we could keep the old box for free. I know I should have got better discounts but she kept to her guns and said we could cancel and go to Sky if we chose to!!! Should I try again?
God yeah!! Youŕe paying way too much hunny b. The problem I think is getting a CSA thatś willing to keep you. I just say that you´ve thought about it and don´ t think it´s enough of a discount. KEEP TRYING!!!
Let us know how you get on!0 -
It may not be the best deal, but I'm happy. Phoned 150 this afternoon.
Current deal = £69.50 for:
TV L +S/M
BB 2mb
Phone L (eve & w/e free)
Today offered for £57.45 indefinitely:
TV XL +S/M (price drops to £34.95 if S/M dropped)
BB 2mb
Phone XL (free 24/7)
V+ box
Quite similar to the £85 VIP package0 -
I called today, I didn't even need to say I was unhappy, just enquired about the changes.
The girl was really friendly and said they are offering deals to their customers to keep them happy. I am on the £20 a month basic TV and medium broadband offer. She upgraded me to the large TV permanently.
I asked about discounts in cost and she advised to phone back next month.....
Very Happy, Thanks Martin0 -
Just got half price TV package - I really wasn't sure I'd get anything as I already have the XL TV package and 2 V-Boxes.
I did try and bump up the broadband as I really wanted more capacity for downloading the eppies of Lost, 24 and Battlestar Galactica... but that wasn't going to fly!
I also got a "thank you" from the customer services rep from being polite and well mannered in my complaint to them and not going off on one!- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Well I ordered broadband for £9.99 a month and they turned up unanounced wanting to drill holes and stuff, they said that if I wanted broadband through a phone I would have to pay £14.99 a month !
NOW they have the offer I WANTED
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=227
and they have REFUSED to give me the adveritised £10 per month ! They said it was bad wording and it will be changed ! HAS IT NO !!!!!!!! Are companys really allowed to have offers and exclude people ?0 -
I am on the 3 for £30 deal (TV,BB,Home phone)
First time i rang up spoke to a guy who didn't have the best grasp of the english language, was very unhelpful and was basically about to book me in for a disconnection as I said I wouldn't accept the £4 off for 6 months. Promptly hung up on him.
Rang back and what a difference, got through to a really nice bloke who without much persuassion offered me £6 off for life. Love the package I am on so chuffed paying £6 less every month.0 -
ive just negiotiated the following:
XL TV
2Mb broadband
Sky sports 1+3
M Phone
for £43.50.
does this look like a good deal? basically looks like the 3 for £30 plus £13.50 for sky sports 1 + 3.
i never tried an increase on the broadband or V+, but doubt i'd have gotten it.
on second thoughts i wasnt overly impressed with this offer so phoned up again this morning.
i now have:
XL TV
2Mb broadband
All Sky sports & Movie channels
M Phone
for £42.50 for 12 months. now that is a good deal!0 -

Well I had to phone several times because of the first mix up then I saw the exact offer I wanted on their website so I tried to get it and they wont let me !!?? They said it was because they had worded it incorectly but they havent changed it !!! And on the internet area of this site lots of people have got £9.99 internet !!!!
Is it really to much to ask for 2mb, unlimited broadband that you dont have to try and find £18 a month for ! ?0 -
Read this the other evening - really helpful, thanks - some people seem to be confused about who to speak to at Virgin. It's important that you get through to disconnections (ring 150 and choose the options to get through to 'I'm thinking of leaving').
Standard customer services don't have the authority to give you the offers people are talking about here, and will often be rude - but if they give you the number for 'if you want to disconnect', that's probably a hint to ring that number for a better offer!
I'm already on a good offer from Virgin following renegotiation recently (£25 for L TV, phone, 2MB broadband), so was pushing my luck. However, they gave me half price Sky Sports for 6 months, which was great. The key is to be polite and chatty - you barely have to threaten to leave, just explain how disappointed you are at losing Sky One etc.
Glad to see Virgin Media has maintained the Telewest approach to customer loyalty!0 -
I am on VIP package with two extra boxes.Paying £90 a month.Have just phoned and had it reduced to £80 a month.Did i do OK?0
