hi I also rang 150 & pointed out sky had just offered me sky tv,broadband & skytalk for £15.00- could also add sports or movies for total of £34.00.-I was paying 38.50 for my Virgin(ntl) package 3 for 30 & extras.
so I've now got tv,with sky sports & movies,broadband & phone -with free 01 & 02 calls after 6.00 pm weekdays & all weekend - all for 34.50!
Great result - thanks Martin0 -
Thanks everyone. Only had to hold for 10 minutes to get through to customer service at VM. Spoke to a lovely guy who offered me a choice of Sky Movies free or £10 a month off my XL package for a year. Went for £10 off, £120 saved which should get me the 24 boxset when it comes out. Thanks for the tip.if i had known then what i know now0

Just off the phone with VM, mentioned the loss off sky one and said I had seen Sky's £26 offer on sky's website.
Previously had basic phone, BB large and tv large for a whopping £47.50 p/m,
upgraded my tv to xl at half price for 6 months after I said I wasn't really interested in movie or sports channels, so now paying £26.75 for 6 months saving over £20
, then will be £37 p/m from then on, at least till I call them again
.
Was on hold for about 15mins and speaking to retentions dept for less than 5mins, phone 150 followed thinking about leaving prompts.0 -
Spoke to VM yesterday, was on phone for about 25 minutes. Currently have phone, XL tv package and broadband and pay about £55 per month
Spoke to a very nice chap called Daniel who without much hesitation reduced that without any time limit to £28.00, he then realised I was paying an extra £3.50 per month for caller ID and answerphone so knocked that off as well reducing monthly amount to a quite unbelievable £24.55
Thanks! :beer:0 -
1. Ex-Telewest uisers need to go through the customer service number on their bill - not the one in Martin's original post.
2. Given a reduced price from £38.50 to £28, no quibble.
Thanks for the pointer
I'm an ex TW user and called the number Martin gave and they sorted it out no problem0 -
Just a heads up from the company - I heard on the grape vine 10mb BB is going to 20mb from the 1st may.

I phoned Virgin and got a reduction of sorts but I was hoping for more.
We get the 3 for £30 bundle, (large TV, free weekend calls, and 1MB broadband)and recently my bh opted (in February) for the Sky Sports 1,2,3, package without any haggling! Now he's added the Vplus box for £15 a month, it comes tomorrow. Total £74 a month.
She said she could only reduce it to £64 and we could keep the old box for free. I know I should have got better discounts but she kept to her guns and said we could cancel and go to Sky if we chose to!!! Should I try again?0 -
Oh my goodness, I can't believe how much I'll save!
I tried calling 150 first but they could only offer a £10.50 reduction and suggested I go onto the VIP package, but that would have cost me more. I said that wasn't really helping me so she suggested phoning 08000529403 (cust serv)
Took ages to get through but well worth the wait. I told them I'd worked out I could save about £45 per month by going over to Sky. TSo, they offered to reduce my monthly payment by £45 (£85 down to £40). They didn't state a time limit either yippeeeeee
Thanks everyone for your encouraging posts. I probably wouldn't have done it otherwise.
