Hi,
I just called as my 6 month offer had come to an end anyway and she re offered me what I already have which is:
V+ box
XL TV
L BB
XL phone
All of which should be £68.00 PM but I was getting for £44
She offered it for life at £44.00 so no calling back needed every 6 mnths, plus she gave me £4 a mnth of TV for 6 mnths for sky one loss, and said it may still come back but will still get discount so Im getting it all for £40 pm for 6 months! not bad really.
xx Thanks martin!0 -
CrashDive wrote:Well after a lengthy tel call to a lovely lady from Manchester, now have:
2mb broadband
XL TV
XL Phone
V+ box
Existing V box moved to Dining Room (2 boxes)
for £36.45pm - no installation fees - 6 monthly contract - just phone up every 6 months to get the same deal or better.
Had to take a drop in B/B mb - but as I can only get 3.2mb here anyway - should not be too much of a difference?
The only programme we watch on Sky 1/2/3 is 'Battlestar Galactica' but can live without it just, although Sky News and Sports is a bit of a loss (but hey there are worse things in life).
As for Murdoch - up his as I would never get a Sky dish anyway because of his nonsense over ITV1 and other spoiling tactics.
Cheers to all that have contributed to this.0 -

We had Telewest Broadband, Talk and digital TV.
My other half rang a short while ago, spoke to a very curt, nay rude, operator, who point blank refused said "its tough, the terms and conditions state....etc".
So....is it worth swapping 'back' to Sky????
I would call telewest again (I know the hold is a pain) but you do get the odd pig who wont budge, but you also get the good ones to explain you have heard through a website they are offering discounts and you would like this otherwise you will leave, if they still dont budge then disconnect but they should do it, make sure to go thru to the department for people wishing to cancel services they are better.
also guidanufino, they are cancelling contracts this month only so no matter how little time you have had the services you can LEGALLY cancel so dont take any rubbish if you do want to leave! xx0 -
Are you people actually getting through. I have tried via telno 150 for the last week and it just cuts me off after 10 minutes of playing 'press this button' ping pong. What options do you press to actually speak with an operator these days as I thought I'd tried every available option? Or is there a decent 0845 number that works (0845 454 1111 is useless)?
Thanks.0 -

I rang 150 then I think option 3 for other query then (dont quote me!) 3 for thinking of leaving us.
Took 33 mins to get thru but did xx0 -
We had the basic telewest package for tv, broadband and telephone. On phoning Virgin they immediately offered an upgraded package permanently for an extra £1 a month, which we were delighted with. Thanks, Martin.0

I've been with NTL for about 3 years. I have never had any trouble with their service (touch wood) but have we have missed the Simpsons.
I rang up this morning, and mentioned I had been offered 3 for £26, and got someone really nice (his kids have been nagging him about getting Sky, so he was very understanding)
We were on 3 for £30-
Now we have £10 a month off
and upgraded to the XL tv package!
How does that sound? He never mentioned the phone, but we have it locked and hardly ever use it. We use Skype, or a mobile for calls.0 -
I'm on hold again but used the 0800 0529403 number as I obviously don't want to run up my work phone bill calling an 0845 number.
Finally got through to the movers team who refused to talk to me. Got through to another person who said I could go onto the free TV package immediately but this means my broadband and phone would cost £29. If I cancel my TV totally, it costs £20. So the TV isn't free then?!!! This despite me having been with them for over 4 years now. Said this to the girl and also said I was annoyed about paying £35 when others have been paying £30. She said the £30 offer is a new one. Typical, loyal long term customers get a worse rate then new ones! I said I wanted a better offer but she said I would have to speak to customer relations and she would put me through. And guess what?! That's right, they cut me off. So now I'm on hold again. Am sorely tempted to cancel my phone and broadband too but can't be bothered with the hassle of getting a new broadband provider and also don't want my phone line with BT as I don't like them. God, you just can't win with these people! aaarrrggghhh! No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
I tried to get a free upgrade but she wasn't having it due to the fact they have an alternative channel 999. However i was offered a recalcualtion of my package (bundle) which reduced my payments by about £15.00 per month. :money:0

just called them and was on hold for quite a while
spoke to lovely bloke (think it was Alan the same as a previous poster), had long conversation about it, he said they paid Sky £25 million for the 3 channels and Sky had asked for £50 million this year even though the channel is going down hill. He said they will have the channels back within 30 days anyway.
We currently have XL tv, phone, 4mb internet, V+ hd box and extra box in bedroom, and he dropped our monthly bill from £71.50 to £52, a huge saving of £19.50 a month (and that is for life and not just 6 months)
Nice one virgin!!!!0
