Hmmmm... I wouldn't bet on it!
Edit - are you plugging it into a USB port directly on back of computer (better), or on a multiple USB port hub?0 -

I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and every time I get the yellow exclamation mark. Going home.
THANKS for all your help.0 -
Follow the instructions at http://www.beemerworld.com/tips/driversbug.htm - you'll need the Windows 98SE CD. Also check whether NDIS.VXD is in the c:\windows\system and c:\windows\system\vmm32 folders and if not copy it from the CD.
Was this machine upgraded from Windows 95, or was it a clean install of 98SE?0 -

Do you think there is any chance of this working? I gave up after 1am this morning as I was tired and getting no where.0 -
Yes, I think it could work. See if the yellow exclamation mark disappears after the reboot following those instructions. Also run winipcfg to see if the adapter is now listed.
If not, some guides on the web say to install the drivers _before_ fitting the adapter. Therefore, boot in safe mode and remove the adapter in Device Manager and any software for it in Add/Remove Programs. Then reboot in normal mode and install the drivers. Then reboot again and fit the adapter.0 -
Before I gave up this morning the drop down box brought up 2 things, 2 PPP Adapters? Does that mean I have messed up AGAIN?0
-
PPP adapter is normally the dial-up modem, so I'm not sure why there 2. I don't think you've messed up, it's just a case of trying different things.
Check in Device Manager in Modems and in Network Adapters and see if there are 2 devices.0 -
I'll look when I am down there again. THANKS!0
