The drop down box only brings up 1 thing, PPP Adapter, what does this mean?
Read http://www.mepisguides.com/fti/cox/Win9X-Connection-Data-for-Cox-Tier-I.html and follow steps 1-14, and note the paragraph about composite USB devices in 98SE.0 -

Point 11 is where the problem seems to be but when I put the cd in that came with the adapter it is still looking for an update. What if anything can I do now?0

When I get to point 6, there is a yellow exclamation mark on DM9601 USB to Fast Ethernet Adapter. When I double click it it says device status, The NDIS.VXD, NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2.)
To fix this, click Update Driver to update the device driver.0 -

Did you plug the adapter into a USB port first and then install the drivers from the CD?
Try deleting the adapter in Device Manager, put it in a different USB port and then install the drivers and reboot.0 -

Actually, delete the adapter in Device Manager, then reboot, then put it in a different USB port and then install the drivers and reboot again.0

Adapter deleted, rebooted, drivers are supposed to be installed and now it is rebooting again.
Do you think this will work?0
