Carlamarie I am so very sorry for your loss, I can't imagine the pain you and your loved ones are in. You are all in my thoughts.

I hope everyone is safe and well tonight in spite of all the rain. It's a bit wet and miserable up here but not as bad as it seems to be down south - which makes a change!

OH and I were supposed to be going away for the night on Thursday but I was so exhausted from a busy week at work that we agreed we'd cancel and just relax at home instead - which we have done! We went to the Metro Centre on Thursday and ate at Chiquitos which is my guilty pleasure and I bought up their last three (!) jars of Chilli Jelly. It's the stuff they serve with their Jalapeno Poppers and it's fab. The waiter and my OH laughed at me but I don't care, it's clear they're going to discontinue it so I wanted all they had! :j

Popped in to the various pound shops and got a gingerbread man silicone mould (12 little men in one tray, rather than one big one) but there wasn't much else that took my fancy. However I then went to Homesense (part of TKMaxx) and could have spent a fortune!! Got a brilliant cookbook called 'America's Hometown Recipe Book' and some more napkins. OK, I'm going to admit it, my name is Caitlyn and I'm a table linen addict! :o I only ever buy in the sale though, so have picked up some fabulous sets for pennies. I have a huge range of colours and styles!! And I must have about...ooooh...1 dinner party a year, so they are SO well used!
    :rotfl:

Tonight I've made the marzipan for my Christmas cake and as I cut up one large square cake to make several smaller ones, I afforded myself a little piece to have with some cheese and apple just now - wonderful! (Not boasting - I don't really think you can go wrong with Christmas cake!!)

Have my Elf and Elf-Supplies ready to send to my sister for her two children. I'm sending the Elf with a letter introducing himself and then a separate letter to my sister and her OH from Santa, telling them they've been Elfed and warning them of some of the thing the Elf might get up to. In their pack I've included some things like cotton wool balls and a green toilet block and said things in Santa's letter like "He will play snowball fights and where he can't find snow, he will improvise." and "You might find he turns your toilet water Elf green, we're not sure how he does it but do watch as it can be quite disconcerting". Hoping they'll get the hint and use the Elf 'supplies' appropriately, otherwise they'll just think I've given them some really odd presents!!

Think that's all. My real tree is getting delivered next Friday so I'm getting the house ready for that. My other tree will probably go up on Thursday evening. I was at a local Garden Centre last week and my OH was asking if I felt OK because I wasn't buying anything. I said that I just didn't see anything that would go with my existing colour scheme (mish-mash of my 'special' decorations from all over the place in one room and usually red/white simplicity in the other) and he said (in all innocence) "Well why do we only have two schemes?" I lit up and decided he was absolutely right! So, much to his bewilderment (he tried desperately to take the words back!) I've since spent a few more pennies on a new scheme for my living room - golds, greens and whites. I've gone for pale-vintage golds rather than deep golden gold, and off-whites, so it's slightly warmer than a frosty scheme but not as twee as some of those 'woodland' ones you sometimes see in magazines. (I'm aware I sound like a right idiot - the sane part of me says "they're just Christmas decorations" but then the other part of me says "They're CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!!!!!!!")

Glad you are having fun Linky :)
So pleased to see you posting Nic you've had such a very difficult week.
Pinknfluffy ooooh you tiger. Go girl.

Not had much time for Christmas prep today but hoping to turn that around. On the plus side my DSiL has made some improvements today, the sleeping beauty is now awake and no longer sedated:) She's still really poorly on intensive care being ventilated but is finally going in the right direction. She means so much to me it's such a relief:) xxx

Nanamia that's good news about your DSIL xx

Fred Claus is on tonight on Ch4 I think it is, 5:10pm.

I'm having a day of getting ready for this craft fair on Saturday. I'm not even a quarter of the way through my prep. I took it on before my Mum took Ill. I had already placed a huge order for stock so couldn't cancel, it will keep me busy, but I'm a bit stressed about it.

Nice to see quite a few of you doing their first craft fair too. This one is a ladies night, with loads of pamper stalls and some gift ones too, just hope they like my stuff.
I've just remembered I meant to borrow my Dads toast rack to use to prop my chalkboards up. I forgot to lift it. He has never used it and it would of been perfect. I want everything displayed well. Oh well, better get to the charity shop tomorrow for inspiration x

Luckily i hadnt really gone into any detail, it was a more of a metephoric suggestion, but unfortunatly mum obviously knew exactly what i ment! again, luckily mum is really easy going & we have always had a very close relationship, we talk about everything, and now, thanks to my stupidity, i do mean EVERYTHING!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

carlamarie - my thoughts are with you and your family xx

Reminds me of reading 50 shades and then mum started to read it and now thinks its funny to embarrass me at family get togethers with askin me questions!!
