Quick question for those who have made chocolate truffles - How long did you leave it to set? Mine have been in the fridge for 3 and a half hours so far and tried to make my first truffle of the batch but its far too gooey yet and wont even form a ball so have put it back in the fridge but is this normal? any tips?
From my exp - Been doing these for about 3/4 years. Ive started adding icing sugar to mix. Just to make it thicker.
If you dont want to add anything extra try leaving it a day or so.

The first time I made them they didn't set for hours, I left them overnight and they were still gooey, so I added a load of chocolate icing sugar and they were fine. You could try adding something similar - not sure of the outcome though I have also hardend them up with Green and Blacks Hot Chocolate, they always go down well! HTH x
PS rain has started again here in the Southwest am going to build an Ark!
Thanks might have to try and add something! Maybe hot choc powder? Theyve now been in fridge 5 hours! Thankfully a trial batch and they taste wonderful just need them to hold their shape, I read online someone uses unsalted butter so that might be worth a try too!Life is what you make it.0 -

re the WHSmith annuals I looked and it says 3-7 working days for delivery to store e.g if you order Tuesday it should be there Friday. my guess is mine'll be in early next week as I didn't order till Thursday.
ETA: tho mine is still showing as 'ready to send'Free store delivery 3-7 working days from when we email to say we've sent your item(s).
Books If you order before 6pm on Tuesday, your book(s) should be ready to collect on Friday.
Stationery, gifts, electronics or magazines Find out when your order should be ready to collect in store. (PDF file)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
nanamia - wonderful news about your lovely sil - everything crossed for you all - hoping the improvements keep coming...
pinksteps - can understand your dilemma about the ds's girlfriends - in my experience the bodyshop has lovely manicure/pedicure/ handcreams sets and there are some good codes/lyb discounts about at the mo. Or how about choosing a joint present for each couple - maybe a movie or choccy hamper? jewelery gift (bracelet maybe) might work or a snug xmas hat from a trendy shop (thinking fat face.... bench... similar??) will keep thinking.....
As for me.... xmas pressies for hubby all wrappedcristmas cards written, plan is to go to local forest next weekend for tree choosing-don't know who loves this the most-kids or us grown-ups! lol! And hubby off work on Mon 3rd for a day of mulled wine, mince pies and wrapping the kids pressies together..... feeling very very xmassy today - just cooking a roast for 8 and have opted for my xmas apron!!!! lol

Hello everyone, can I come back into the fold please?
I couldn't face it for a while after we lost mom, but I'm trying to get back into the swing now, and panicking slightly that I'm now very behind!
I've spent the last week following the Amazon Black Friday deals where I seem to have spent loads but only ticked a couple of actual useful presents off the list- oops!I need you lot to get me back on track!
I met up with my sister's at mom's house last weekend and we divided up her huge Christmas decs collection- a very emotional but also lovely time to reminisce.
There is no way I could go back over everything I've missed so forgive me if I miss people that deserved a hug or a hooray, but just wanted to mention:
nic: so, so, sorry about your mum. I lost mine a month before so I can empathise. If you ever want to chat when things are bad, please pm me. xx
Carlamarie big hugs to you and the rest of your family. xx
gettingthere quickly- WOW- congrats! :j

welcome back rosy girl - can I post a pic of my tree?? Does anyone want to see??
Been looking at the 'Bourne' box set on blu-ray for hubby for Christmas as at the moment HMV is winning the price war by miles - does Tesco/ Sainsbury normally price match to them cause obviously the points would be a nice bonus.
ETA: also £27 pre-order from Amazon free delivery + price promise. Don't think it'll go cheaper then that. MUST remember to use my Nectar to track as I **insert expletive here** forgot for the other £50 of shopping I've just done with black friday week!!! :mad:loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored.
