Luckily i hadnt really gone into any detail, it was a more of a metephoric suggestion, but unfortunatly mum obviously knew exactly what i ment! again, luckily mum is really easy going & we have always had a very close relationship, we talk about everything, and now, thanks to my stupidity, i do mean EVERYTHING!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
carlamarie - my thoughts are with you and your family xxIt's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
My local Co op had their tins of condensed milk reduced today. Not sure why as bb is Nov next year. I bought some and am going to attempt to make some fudge tomorrow. Never done it before so hope it tastes ok.Savings Account - £0.00

What a great day! up at 6.30am (I know bonkers especially as it was my first chance to sleep in in 4 weeks!) Tidied the house and got the christmas tree up
The cat of course loved it and went for the whole lot striaght away but hasnt bothered since (thank you Lord! shes finally grown up!) First few presents are also under the tree - just the stockings to put up now!
Went out shopping got all the family hampers, not the easiest thing to choose getting the right balance between price and style and space! Ended up 4 medium and 1 large basket costing £25 so Im happy with that, could of cost less but I wanted to buy baskets that the family would use and would match in with their taste rather than buying a basket that will never see the light of day after christmas! It must of worked because I picked up my wee sis later in the day with her OH and she commented how lovely the hampers were in the boot, I reminded her she was meant to see these :rotfl: Went to our Dunelm Mill for the mini graters (cant remember who told me on here to find them there for the hot choc mugs - sorry) Our store doesnt have them and found customer service awful, lack of help and they refused to get some sent from another store for us to pick up - their loss! Went to matalans and got OH new christmas pjs - she must love them as shes already wearing them lol! Got my jars from Ikea ready for some retro sweets too!
Wee tip - Picked up the latest real food mag in tescos and they have a really good read about the usual turkeys etc but more so the "edible gift ideas" they have a recipe for butterscotch sauce which my mum will LOVE!
Had my sister and her OH back for dinner and gave them our old tree, isnt it funny we havent used it in 2 years but I felt really sad letting it go so its on the promise that the minute they dont want it we get it back lol!
Right now ready to catch up on the 10+ pages Ive missed!!Life is what you make it.0 -
Well I'm sat watching christmas 24 while wrapping presents and making lists and writing cards! My living room looks like santas workshop haha ddnt realise how much i have got!! Think I'm nearly done now hopefully as don't want to be rushing around just before Xmas because I forgot something!! Knowing me I probably will!!0

well im a bit disappointed as we were meant to be going out for a freinds birthday tonight, but got 2 miles down he road and decided to turn back as the road was already flooded (but passable) but we didnt think it would be passable in 3 hours, plus my little sis had offered to drive us and pick us up and I would hate for her to drive alone in it, i've lived in Cornwall all my life and have never seen it this bad! hope everyone is safe and dry.
Really hoping it better next sunday as we are planning on doing a day trip to Bath to go around the markets, always wanted to go, and it was hubby's suggestion so defo not going to say no!! Nt sure i really need to buy anything, but as our christmas shopping is 99% finished and all paid for, I can afford to buy a little extra! it really does pay to be organised, literally!0 -

Oh CarlaMarie, I am so deeply sorry for your loss, I can not even begin to imagine what you are going through. We are all here for you, I hope the love from your family helps you through this awful time x
1 week and our decorations go up!!! DH hasn't noticed yet, but i've snuck a little robin on to the mantel :-) bought a lovely carved wood robin at a Christmas market yesterday and decided to keep him out. Off down to a little seaside town tomorrow for their Christmas craft fair & Christmas light switch on, pretty much finished buying pressies but im just going to look ;-) x0
