You can't show me things like that! I NEED it! Monopoly is my absolute favourite game. I can't wait until DS is old enough to play it, I'm going to torture him on weekends by making him play with memsgigglewick wrote: »
I really need a few hours without children around (near on impossible in this house) so i can get all the presents out and have a good sort through.. opened one of the cupboards the other day and the first bag i could look into i had totally forgot i have bought any of it :S so i hate to think what else is in there lol.. i guess it makes it like christmas all over again lol.
I did this last time I took stock of the xmas cupboard. Even I was surprised by some of the stuff in there and I was the one who bought it all :rotfl:.
Come wrapping time I will of forgotton again.. and by christmas morning I wont have a clue what DS has got and Ill be just as surprised as him at what he's opening haha!autumngirl wrote: »Haha, how very MSE of you to share! Have to say, the more I look at this wash mit the more it reminds me of Scooby Doo but I still love it!
Oooh I didn't see any storage boxes but they sound great. Will keep a lookout though and hopefully by the time I spot them I'll have forgotten about the small fortune I spent on my last visit. (Oops!)
I spend a small fortune also. I had the christmas bedding in my basket for ages as well and I desperately wanted it. Bedding is never a waste of money , but I just ended up putting it back and sulking because £16 would cover other presents that are needed more. I suppose that's what I get for putting others first... Pain and angst over reindeer bedding that I can't live withoutHaving a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne

I've been having a look though and Marks & Spencers have a lush paper in, which is kraft paper. Paperchase have lovely tags to match.
Perhaps with a plain red ribbon?
I'm going to hold out for a little bit until I make up my mind.
aliaslotte, I'm sure most people really appreciate the thought that goes into wrapping a gift and your effort will show in the finished article. For me, choosing how to wrap a present is all part of the Christmas preparation and the joy of giving - there are so many lovely wraps and ribbons etc around to choose from so take your time and enjoy!
I especially love the Paperchase stickers. Have you thought about making your own tags in a similar style? I've bought some plain brown card luggage labels from ebay to decorate with simple Christmas-themed rubber stamps, inspired by the lovely tags that East of India do. You can create the same vintagey craft feel for a fraction of the cost and making them should hopefully be fun too!0 -

I have to be a bit careful as he had psoriasis when he was a baby/toddler (all gone now thankfully) and has quite sensitive skin which may may it flare up so I tend to stick to things I know and always check the ingredients in things. Last year I couldn't find anything suitable that wouldn't of irritated it
Could you perhaps get some of those clear plastic bottles for travelling (Primarni do a set for £1) make them Christmassy with stickers, ribbon, glitter etc. then decant some of his usual bath stuff that is suitable for his skin into them so it's 'special Christmas bubbles' but really his normal stuff so no risk of using an irritating product?0 -
For those considering a Santa key, I made my own last year:
I asked a local key cutting place if they had any they could sell me cheaply and explained what I wanted it for. The man kindly gave the key to me.
I bought gold spray paint from the pound shop, sprayed the key and then sprinkled it with glitter whilst it was still a bit wet. I made a label with this poem and attached the key to it with ribbon:
Santa's Magic Key
This key is very special you see
Itwon't work for you or me
Hang it outside your door
Go to bed and worry no more
Close your eyes and close them tight
Cause Santa Claus is coming tonight!
There is also this one:Santa's Magic KeyWe don't have a chimney for you to climb through,
But if you don't visit my our house I don't know what I'll do.
Some say you are magic and can use any old keyAs long as we hang it out in a place you're sure to see.So we're leaving this old key right outside our door
Saying our prayers, jumping in bed, and we won't worry anymore.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -
For anyone looking out for the Rudolph DVD game, but no HB near to them, I went to Toys R Us this morning to collect Skylander Giants, and they had a Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer DVD game in reduced to 4.99. It isn't on their website, so must be an instore offer. It's in their Christmas Catalogue on page 209.
Not sure if it's the same one as HB has in, but have found the same one in TJ Hughes for 7.99 Hope this helps someone who is fter it

I've made a good start on my Christmas shopping now and I have managed to tick quite a few people off my list [with lovely fitting presents].
I am now thinking of how to wrap them. I like to pick a theme and [as much as my mother laughs at me for it] I give it quite a bit of thought. I normally go for a plain, quality metalic paper with a plain ribbon [in a different colour] and then bows or candy canes. Eg, plain red paper with gold ribbon or teal paper with silver ribbon... Ive ordered that paper from M&S too! into store on MondayI love it, the santa/sleigh is my favourite theme and also in store I saw another rolls made with brown/craft paper which has reindeer and I think trees in the red foil, couldn't see it online though, so worth checking if you are in store. I do always love their wrap, it's always such nice quality
and so twinkly! I buy it in the sale the previous Christmas ... but then, like this, see something lovely the following year and end up buying more! this will be beautiful with red ribbon and a red bow, have bought packs of those from M&S on the 3 for 20 -

Oh, the gorgeous brushed cotton/flannelette duvet sets. I deliberated over those too, deciding which design to go for (I think one was called Stag and other Fair Isle). I know £16 is a good price for what it is but it still seemed a lot so thankfully my 'sensible head' kicked in and I left the bedding behind..................
.........for another day, most likely!
Now that I've seen it I'll find it very hard to resist. Hopefully they'll all sell out quickly so the 'to buy or not to buy' decision will be taken out of my hands!0 -

LOL I used to like Monopoly as a child but as I get older I find I get more and more impatient and now Monopoly drives me absolutely loopy! I can't bear playing it but luckily DD is old enough to play it with DS now, although it causes huge arguments.0 -
Damsel In Distress we love Monopoly too, the only problem is, the looks on their little faces when they know they are out if you (evil landlord mother) make them pay the full rent on your hotel on Mayfair just kills you ... so you let them off and they morph into Gordon Gekko and thrash you!0

This is a really great idea! Thanks!
I can actually get the e45 bubble bath on prescription for him (its over £5 in tesco!) but going back and forth to the doctor for a bottle a week got tiresome!
Strangely enough I've found tesco value baby bath for 44p is just a good! It's in a plain white bottle with just a blue stripe stick label so I could just peel it off and decorate it!Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
