Hello all!
Finally caught up on the thread. :j
We asked MIL what her plans were for Christmas day and she said she was going round to SIL and that we were expected too! I think she saw the look on my face and added if we wanted to. So I said no, didn't fancy spending my Christmas day with 3 over-excitable boys who will end up getting away with anything and will invariably end up arguing, fighting and in tears before bedtime. We've been there the past two years and it's manic. I want a more sedate day. MIL looked a bit hurt so I said it's the same reason I don't want to go to dad's as 2 neices will be there and it will be far from stress-free.
So looks like we're visiting both families in the morn/early aft then enjoying a late Christmas meal at ours, just the two of us (oh, and the cats)I don't care if neither family is totally happy with my plan, I think we'll get the joy of being with the kids without me resisting the urge to tell them off when they go too far/get too cheeky/start misbehaving because they're over-excited - usually leading to be being told not to be such a grouch/grinch/scrooge it's Christmas. All I'm saying is that when we were kids both our sets of parents NEVER let us get away with what the nephews/neices do!

Just need to find some xmas related bath products now for ds and his xmas eve hamper will be done! .... Well i say that, but no doubt ill see other bits in the coming months !
With people mentioning tissue paper, I forgot the mention the other day that Home Bargains have packs of 12 sheets for 59p a pack. There were two different packs in mine. A red and white theme pack and a red and green theme pack. Some sheets are plain, others have patterns on them.
They're fairly thick as well and 59p is the cheapest I've ever seen tissue paper of this quality . HTH someone
Superdrug are great for the Xmas shaped bath gels, last year got santa, Xmas trees and reindeer. Thanks, you just reminded to go hunting for these again for my boys Xmas Eve boxes.Every sixty seconds you spend angry, upset or mad, is a full minute of happiness you'll never get back..:p

The wash mit is fab for kids but I bought mine for myself!(I know I can say that here and people won't think I'm weird, phew!)
That tissue paper sounds great, thanks. I'd been looking for Christmas themed tissue for ages and the Works ones were the cheapest I'd found but there's always room for more!0 -
Hey all.
I've made a good start on my Christmas shopping now and I have managed to tick quite a few people off my list [with lovely fitting presents].
I am now thinking of how to wrap them. I like to pick a theme and [as much as my mother laughs at me for it] I give it quite a bit of thought. I normally go for a plain, quality metalic paper with a plain ribbon [in a different colour] and then bows or candy canes. Eg, plain red paper with gold ribbon or teal paper with silver ribbon... I've been having a look though and Marks & Spencers have a lush paper in, which is kraft paper. Paperchase have lovely tags to match.
Perhaps with a plain red ribbon?
I'm going to hold out for a little bit until I make up my mind.0 -

Thanks, If I pass one Ill have a look in. I have to be a bit careful as he had psoriasis when he was a baby/toddler (all gone now thankfully) and has quite sensitive skin which may may it flare up so I tend to stick to things I know and always check the ingredients in things. Last year I couldn't find anything suitable that wouldn't of irritated itautumngirl wrote: »The wash mit is fab for kids but I bought mine for myself!(I know I can say that here and people won't think I'm weird, phew!)

It'll go in his hamper then when he's had his bath and in bed, Ill have my bath and steal a go of it haha.
Primark had some great stuff the other day. Did you see the HUGE christmas storage boxes with handles on the side? They were so lovely and only £3!
I physically couldn't of carried any more shopping though ... Oh well, its an excuse to go backHaving a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -
Have had a very Christmassy productive morning, got gorgeous gift bags & paper in Wilkinsons, in Primark got a grey Christmassy cushion with throw, tea towel, hand towel for downstairs loo and a lovely white & red table runner. Then treated my 3 children to the moshi monster advent calendar (boys asked if they could share one!) and the Lego friends one for my daughter. Took in an old jigsaw to Argos and got a £5 voucher, which I then used against the calendars! Wasn't going to get them, but DH has to go to the US to work for 2 weeks at the beginning of December and I know they'll struggle with him being away
(as will I as he goes the day before we start having work done on our bedrooms, it's going to be chaos for a good few weeks! Just as well I'm on top of Christmas planning really
I then stopped at Sainsburys and got 12 bottles of wine for 10p - thank you 25% off offers and nectar pointsthat's a couple more pressies and Christmas Day sorted
Just waiting for an amazon delivery now with my daughters furbySlightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....0 -
Not sure if this has been on here or not (confused with the reindeer one LOL!)

Haha, how very MSE of you to share! Have to say, the more I look at this wash mit the more it reminds me of Scooby Doo but I still love it!
Oooh I didn't see any storage boxes but they sound great. Will keep a lookout though and hopefully by the time I spot them I'll have forgotten about the small fortune I spent on my last visit. (Oops!)0
