So my dh being a very big geek (works in IT) has rummage through all his bits and bobs and is building her a very small windows pc instead of the raspberry pi we was going to use. Shes going to be in her element when she just unwraps a monitor lol cause he's going to fix all the rest of it to the back of it! clever huh.
Made me fall in love with him all over again (dd1, 2 and 3 aren't his you see)
Awww how lovely of him. It always makes me feel warm and fuzzy when men do something genuinely nice when they don't have to... Because let's face it, It's rarer than a polar bear the Caribbean :rotfl:
missgigglewick - I love the elf passport! Did you make it yourself or was it online somewhere? I'd love to do one for our elf but I'm not computer savvy enough to make one!
I didn't know what to do with myself last night with out MSE, Even though I don't always 'do' anything on it, I'm used to at least being nosy at other threads, I felt like a naughty child who was being punished! :rotfl:
I've decided I'm going to make two flavoured vodka's as presents, I personally don't like vodka too much so I don't know who's going to try it to see it if tasted ok, Perhaps I'll have to ask the cat... haha.
Anyway, Has anyone tried making candy cane vodka? If so can you tell me how many candy canes to use? I'm clueless
Also does everyone just buy the cheap vodka? Or the dearer stuff? I personally can't see the point in buying smirnoff if it's going to be flavoured but I don't know much about vodka.... ? I know tesco do a value vodka for around £6 so I wonder if using that is ok?
I'm not a particularly 'crafty' person, Not that I can't be, I've just never tried. So I've decided I'm going to give a few things a go this year that I've been reading about on other threads, Hopefully it will all turn out ok and if not.. Well i tried
Can anyone tell me what you all use for posting photo's on here? It's been years since I've posted a photo on mse and I have completely forgotton how, even though I know it's really simple! Doh!Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -
Morning all!!
So glad it's friday. Feeling bit blue knowing there is Christmas movies on Saturday and I have to spend the day working on the house which currently has no heating, minimal electrics and a lot of digging, drilling and plastering has to be doneOh well at least it means we're one step closer to finishing it!
I ordered some bits off the works - kneeling pads for out in the garden were about 50p (possibly less), wax discs for jam jars (200) 59p, big floral shopper bag 99p...got some other bits too but there's lots of bargains on there. Managed to get discount of about 20% only down side is it's been over a week and still nothing has arrived so feeling a bit miffed this morning
Went to Stratford Primark - there is loads of onesies - especially for men too - hulk, bats, xmas... also have cushions, throws, amazing smelling candles (literally makes me swoon they smell so good!!).
One warning make sure you check sizes before buying in primark. Yesterday bought some festive Pyjama bottoms and there were the wrong size, managed to get them changed at the till... however I was caught out on the slippers as when I got them home it turned out they had tagged a size 3-4 and 5-6 together. Not good.
Also just wanted to recommend these boots for any ladies planning on buying some ugg style boots - they're so expensive so I'm really glad I found these. Come in a couple of different colours and they have the solid sole so they wont wear down :j but do remember to spray them with protector against the rain. (Enter amazonuk web address and follow on with this.....) /gp/product/B005GTO5QK/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i000 -
I would use Photobucket, it's free and pretty quick to upload0

In the Tesco gift guide there is a nativity set for £9.97, not sure what it is made of but it does look really nice. They also have a 12 piece Nativity ornament set for £2.97 but think they are tiny ones for the tree perhaps? will have a look on their website for better picture,0

haha that made me laugh.
I made them myself.. you don't know how many hours i spent on designing my elf pack lol (sold a few for others too on my xmas fb group) They were photoshopped which i've been using since the girls were little so wasn't anything really technical lol.
Big ty to everyone else who's commented on them though

Do Mothercare price match?!
http://www.mothercare.com.au/t-PricePromise_MCAU.aspx
Sometimes they do additional offers, like £10 voucher but lot sure of that is running at present, you could call and enquire.
Will catch up properly later on

Thanks snugglebunny8 and msgigglewick , Ill try and upload the picture I wanted to show someone later on tonight, I knew it was simple but I forgot which code you used to upload it. IMG seems pretty obvious now
msgigglewick I am useless at photo shop. Quite literally, I would have more chance of winning the lottery than achieving anything on photo shop ! But thanks for letting me know how you did it. It's lovely
I think I'd be more likely to get one done it I hand made on with paper and pen! I may give it a go... It can only look terrible, but no one but me will know anyway :rotfl:Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0
