Afternoon all.
OMO good luck, I hope it all goes fabby for you.
Still no sign of my cat Turbo. I am heartbroken, it's so unlike him to go off. Have done the usual road/lane check, and contacted vets etc, but no news of him.
I am still trying to be Christmassy though. I can't keep on crying, it's not good for me or anyone else at home. It's hard, but I'm trying my best. I've marzipaned my cake today, and iced the board for it. So I'll prob ice the cake on Sunday, and then start with the decoration of it. Fetched out all the decs etc and tree from the garage yesterday, so they'll be going up over the weekend.
Hope everyone's ok, and massive hugs to all who is feeling in need. xx
2 of my cats have gone missing before, one of them for 24 hours and one for a week, I was absolutely guttedwhen he finally strolled in a week later he was absolutely starving, his claws were in such a mess and there were almost imprints in his fur - it was obvious he had been shut in somewhere. I completely understand how upset you are though, it is horrible.
Have you tried emptying your hoover over your garden? They say that it smells of your home and it can help them find their way home, I don't know whether there is any truth in it but I tried everything!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
Do you want to know a secret ......................... I think I may be a bit insane, but I do believe a little bit, can't help it. DH thinks I should be locked up for my own safety :rotfl:
I still live in hope that I can quit my day job and go and work in Santa's workshopHobnobs are like marines0 -
Sorry I have been missing had to have emergency brain surgery as my shunt failed
So this Xmas will consist of recovering ! I wont get my staples out till the week leading up to Xmas either
Thats my rant. x
How awful for you ! I hope you make a speedy recovery.
JJ, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Turbo finds his way home soon.
OMO, I hope it went well for you today.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Some lovely trees everyone.
And, good luck to everyone who still has items to sell. I hope you find the perfect spot, as the items posted on here have all been fantastic.
Bad Day
I had a bit of a day from hell yesterday. I was on a half-shift, so finished at 1.30pm. Returned to the car as the heavens opened. Then, the car wouldn't start. Discovered that I am not covered by the RAC policy [we used to be with Greenflag - which is linked to the car - whereas RAC is linked to the person]. None of the local garages would do recovery or come to visit the car to repair it by the roadside. No family or friends within a 50 mile radius [typical timing]. It wasn't a good afternoon lol.
I ended up walking across town and buying a new car battery, plus jump leads, and lugging them back. In the rain. In stupid leaky shoes [that are now in the bin]. Only, the jump leads were rubbish [despite being expensive] and wouldn't do the job. I was about to give up home and cut my loses, as it was around 2C and I was drenched and had been there trying to sort something out for 4 hours!
As I was walking back through town to go to the bus station, I stopped at a limo car hire place just on the off chance. I admit to playing the damsel in distress lol!The gent inside was so kind - he came back to the car with me, tested the old and new batteries, declared that the jump leads were rubbish, returned with some super heavy duty ones and got my car going again. I was so relieved! I gave him a pretty hefty tip - worth it, totally worth it, as I was incredibly grateful lol - and then drove home...
Tonight, as it is now dry, I've lost the damsel in distress look and actually managed to fit the new battery by myself! Yay!
Still going to get the bus to work tomorrow [as I did today]. I have given the car a good run tonight but I am still too annoyed about last night to even risk it happening again lol. Even though I know that is illogical as the old battery has been on its last legs for a while and the new one is, well, new. But still...
Back on the topic of Christmas lol...
On the Christmas front, I've started receiving Christmas cards. I don't normally bother with them, so I haven't done any. I've had to pop out and buy some - gone for black and white scenes of snow covered lanes, with bare branched trees on either side. Very much my "thing" even if they are not that traditionally Christmassy.I'd best start writing them soon...

Well the fayre didn't go great.:(
I took £60 which is Ok, but I brought loads back.
The lady from the PTA said is was so bad I didn't have to pay for the table, but I gave them £10 as it was going towards the school.
The guess the weight of the cake took £1.20 (6 x 20p)
I now have to figure out what I am going to do with all this stuff.:(0 -

evening all - havent had a chance to catch up so going to post this then go have a read!
What a day! We had a christmas lunch today, amazing, completely stuffed though tbh! Didnt go to the team drinks this evening though, this glandular fever is still wiping me out! Found out though from tests at the doctors its a mild form which is good but dread to think what a bad dose of it would do to me if this is how I feel!
Did some more christmas shopping (I keep telling myself Im finished then find other things I need!!!) Got some great wee buys which Ive taken photos of for you allEven got a taste of my first gingerbread latte - yum!
Got these to write clues on for a "hide n seek" gift on christmas morning, so far thought of 2 places to hide, need to find alot more and come up with clues! Then need to find the energy to place them all out on christmas eve - they will each have a small chocolate coin attached and the last gift at the end is 100 egyptian dollars for our hols next year (£10 our money)
Got these as part of the starbucks 12 days of christmas (ends Sunday they reckon) The packet was just £2 will finish off auntie and uncles hamper well!
Got this from the craft stall at the market, loved it and knew my mum would too so again finishes her and dads hamper :T
Got these cute bags in poundland for the niece and nephew (along with their hampers and a few things to share think its fair to say they are spoilt this year and thats just stuff from me!)
This is the contents of the bags - works out including cost of the bags £6 but as me and my friend said if you went to a high street store for a bag like that you'd easily spend £10 on them and probably get less!Life is what you make it.0 -
