It;s only light at the minute and it keeps stopping.

You will be fine lovely stop panicking, if anything I think people will want to come into the warmth if it is snowing ;)

I know. I must stop worrying. It is so unlike me . I am usually quite a positive person.
I think I feel like this because I made the gifts. If it doesn't sell I will take it personally.
The snow may help the buyers feel Christmassy . There, that's positive.
Am still a nervous as hell. :D

( will try to takes some pics to show you my table)
  • Good luck Own My Own, I'm betting I'll come back onto the thread later on today and you'll be telling us all how fabulously you did :snow_laug
  • Good luck On My Own, I am sure you will do great.

Need a little gift help :( I have two little cousins to buy for and their Mum has mentioned they want the Lorax and Wall e on DVD - She knows our budget is £10 a head. The Lorax is £10 and Wall e is only £8 - We would ordinarily buy a tiny £2 gift to make it up to £10, but that would mean the other child would only get a DVD. We have made it quite clear we are sticking to a budget so dont want to over-spend on one as he chose a more expensive DVD (they have 4 children so would need to increase the others as well) - Any suggestions?

I have got my nieces DVDs - 1 more expensive than the other & I have bought some popcorn, crisps & sweets (£land) with the difference and split them between them wrapped them in a shoe box with a night in at the movies tag. It looks a bit more exciting than just a DVD too.

youngest dd has decided to announce tonight that she "isnt sure if santa is real, its just not possible", she's 5, im gutted! Dh stepped in & gave her the whole "its magic" speech, but as i put her to bed i could see it was still playing on her mind. I need to do something special, something which will help her hold onto the childhood belief a while longer. I am thinking maybe one of santa's big black buttons dropped on the floor xmas day (i could engrave SC on it somehow?). She's a clever little thing, so it needs to be something as realistic as i can make it. Any suggestions, please, im so upset to think this could be the last year of magic for her, at such a young age :-(
Don't worry too much, my DD1 started questioning the whole Santa thing about that age, she is now 8 and still believes, but older kids at school keep saying he isn't real. When she questions it we just talk about how some people don't believe and some do, I think the fact that I am a Xmas nut, as we all are on here, keeps the magic alive in our house, am sure this year will be her last of true believing, but I have been saying that for the past 3 years!

Do you want to know a secret ......................... I think I may be a bit insane, but I do believe a little bit, can't help it. DH thinks I should be locked up for my own safety :rotfl:
  • Good luck omo!! You'll do great! Looking forward to seeing pics!

Wondering if any of you savvy people have see sweeties on offer whilst on your travels?

OH has only now decided to give his aunt a sweetie hamper as a present. Looked everywhere cant cant seem to find anything decent to go in a hamper..?

Also, We have brought some of the cone shaped cellophane bags for sweetie treats for everyone to have, Inc in them are going to be some "Joke" scratch cards. Our families are very much jokers & often set one - another up, (Other then OH brother whos a moany so & so) So that should be a good laugh.

Lastly, i was wondering when does everyone start doing their christmas food shop? We're at OH's mums this year but ideally i want to do a big shop to last us over the festive season - To avoid the manic rush around the supermarkets? x

Love this!! I still believe too. I love the thought of Santa up at the North Pole with all his elves.

My favourite Christmas film is 'Santa Claus the Movie' and that's the way I'd love to think Santas workshop is like :D

  • Hi all, i've been trying to catch up all week so I thought i'd just post now as I never quite make it to the end! I've been busy getting organised, i've got a dinner party and a Christmas lunch (not on Christmas day but family coming for a bit of a soiree) that i've been busy planning. Nearly finished my Christmas shopping. I ooked back at my posts earlier and I joined this thread in July, Christmas seemed so far away then and this thread was budding! Now it is nearly upon us asnd this thread has grown to new heights! How fabulous. Gleek I hope you are happy with your work!
I've just seen the couple of posts about believing in Santa, and I think some form of him must be real. I mean, every year Santa is everywhere and we all talk about him - so the 'entity' of Santa is real even if he doesn't fly across the world delivering presents! Imagine if you stopped talking about him as an adult - it would be rubbish! And I am planning to track him Christmas Eve! :T

Pfft, OF COURSE Santa is real! But he only visits you if you believe in him!
