    Nia's xmas display

Love her room! Definitely lots of Christmas there :rotfl: PS I have the same reindeer :D
I got my snowman and Father Christmas cheese today. The happiness it gave me really is proof that I need to get a life!! :D

I want the cheeses :( Couldn't find them in Tesco yesterday! Would it be really sad for me to go miles out my way to an ASDA to get them? :rotfl:

I am going late night shopping tonight and very excited! I saw a beautiful Christmas jumper dress in Peacocks
    http://www.peacocks.co.uk/womens-reindeer-jumper.html
It is a long jumper and as I'm only 5ft, will look perfect with black tights and boots ;) I can't really justify the £18 though :(

Noooo not more Christmas clothes to tempt me!

I agree with Ruth and andymandy on the DVD front, a DVD each will be fine, they won't know there was a difference in price.
noodles - loving nia's room, and mali is just beautiful!

is it just me or do none of this years xmas adverts have the Xmas factor?
Last year we had the catchy littlewoods tune, and the beautiful john lewis ad, but this year it all seems to be based on how gloomy & hard work xmas is. Bah humbug to all those retail giants that just dont seem to understand that christmas is about more than getting us to spend money

Last years JL ad was lovely :) I do quite like this year's too, with the snowmen.

This years ASDA ad made me smile, the one with mum doing all the work (and he at the end asking what's for tea? would have got a smack :rotfl: ) but the others (Tesco, Morrison's) seemed to have copied it and they are all the same.

Those two are the only ones that stand out for me.

Off to work on some stitching for some gifts, need to get cracking!

Ooh I forgot about Morrisons, yes there is and it might be a little closer than ASDA... Still out of my way though.

Am going to have to come with a reason to drive past :D

Need a little gift help :( I have two little cousins to buy for and their Mum has mentioned they want the Lorax and Wall e on DVD - She knows our budget is £10 a head. The Lorax is £10 and Wall e is only £8 - We would ordinarily buy a tiny £2 gift to make it up to £10, but that would mean the other child would only get a DVD. We have made it quite clear we are sticking to a budget so dont want to over-spend on one as he chose a more expensive DVD (they have 4 children so would need to increase the others as well) - Any suggestions?

Just the dvd each dont stress yourself over £2! My niece and nephew both get a hamper each, I cant promise that the same value is spent down to the last pound but its close enough and I always make sure they have the same amount to open and play with, kids that age thats all they are worried about!

Yup! Love the JL ad as always but thought the others were a bit meh?! And not many of them about!

  • Hello there lovelies!

I've not been on and read in here in 4 days !!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Anyway I'm back now, so mini run down present wrapping had come to a stand still due to lack of printer ink to print labels for 16 snowman soups.

so here is a mini rundown of my week since Friday, so Friday I woke up with a killer headache and a slight sicky feeling I started drinking some squash to hopefully make my headache go away, that didn't work it sparked a 24 hour sickness bug so I had to phone in sick at Lush (boo) so Friday was useless I barely ate anything and drank very little, Saturday I did work at Lush but I ate dry crackers whilst I was there and only drank water and kept it all down but still felt abit iffy, also during Saturday our washing machine blew up, very ironic because Mum and I had been discussing whether or not she would like a carpet cleaner or a washing machine for Christmas so washing machine it is. Anyway so Sunday is meant to be my waitressing day at Millrace in the coffee shop so Sunday I woke up and was still feeling a little bit delicate and I was worried about getting a washing machine too, so I phoned in sick, anyway Tuesday arrives and I goto work at Lush feeling much better after some rest and taking it easy, the shop gets a call from my Mum, which never happens its like an unspoken rule my Mum never calls me at work on a work number unless it is majorly important, anyway it turns out the main supervisor of the coffee shop at millrace has phoned and can I call her back it is important and I have to call her during work hours, so ok the supervisor at Lush says of course it must be important not a problem, so I call in to find out whats up, I then get can I come in its not something we can talk about over the phone, I said no not today, so ended up going in at 9am yesterday (when it had decided to snow in Essex!) before a Lush shift starting at 10 where she basically told me I have an attitude with the new Sunday supervisor ( I don't if I did she would know about it!) that I clash with the new supervisor and it is making the atmosphere uncomfortable for the other girls aswell, this is what they all said when she was in on Sunday and I phoned in sick,
So she points out all of the things I'm meant to have done and then says but don't go home and discuss this with Mum and quit, what she didn't realise is that it has been Mum and Dad that kept me there for the last few weeks I would have been happy to quit 6 weeks ago. So anyway I thought about it yesterday and wrote my letter of resignation last night and handed it in this morning.

It was a very satisfying feeling despite it being sad because I have been there since I was 16. So 2 weeks left there and more time spent with my Lushie friends :)

:)Yea so that's my rundown sorry it got abit graphic and long winded its abit stressful this week.

Hugs and kisses to those that need them!
  • Thanks for the advice everyone, pound land here I come ;)

  • Well it has taken an obscene amount of hours, tears and sadly tantrums but the family tree papercut is done! All pictures are on my blog here;

LOVE LOVE LOVE! This is amazing, well done you! It clearly takes so much time and effort to get it right. Keep me updated if you sell them in future, my sister's thirty-tenth birthday is next year and I've had my eye on the Not-On-My-Budget ones (AKA Not on the High Street!)

I too have that reindeer. And so does my mum! Haven't found mine this year, come to think about it. It wasn't with the other Christmas cuddlies.

I thought the Father Christmas & Snowman cheeses were Asda & the reindeer was Morrisons.

Sounds like you could do with a hug too! I used to work for Lush. Funnily enough I left when I didn't get on with the new boss. Which Lush do you work in? (I don't mind if you'd rather not post it online)
Hope you're feeling better now. Lots of bugs going round at the moment.

I've got a Christmas meal to go to tomorrow. I can't decide if I should wear a red dress-which I've only worn once before-or my Christmas jumper and a skirt/trousers. It's in a pub at lunchtime, but I don't get the chance to dress up that often.
