I just wonder how many people here will break the law in one way or another this week - speeding perhaps, taking a pencil from your workplace, rape and pillage of the nearest village. I cant believe people are getting so righteous over some reciepts.0

The original question on this thread has ben answered long ago ... however the 'discussion' goes on .... I look in occasionally just to be amazed ...
People are getting so hot under the collar about this ... but does it really matter?
If people drop the litter ... and it is litter ... as they do ... they are generally uncaring about the points ... their money ... the environment ... society in general ... Whether it be legally or morally ideal ... is there really a 'problem' with somebody finding those odd 10's of points and cashing them in!
As psilocybe says ... lots of people break the law in so many ways each day ... One man's meat is another man's poison ... I do not currently work (and get paid) ... ha ha ... but when I did I would not dream of taking anything from work ... but others see it as part and parcel of their pay! ... People also do stuff everyday that does not break any law but makes theirs and others lives more of a grind ...
We seem to all harp on about the little daft things ... If we have no sin then cast the first stone ... otherwise ... find something better to 'right' ... and firstly start with your own behaviour ... Be a more curteous driver ... spend more time with your children ... be a better neighbour ...
Self examination is often the best way of seeing others in a better light ...
Off to read the Competition Thread ... I need cheering up ...

Dont want to be too specific, but had an interesting conversation with a SA in T's the other day.
Were chatting about clubcard points, and the SA told me a story about the disgraceful behaviour of one of their customers recently: customer was bringing in 10/+ receipts daily for points to be added to their clubcard. Many of the receipts were crumpled up, dirty and disheveled (much like T employees early on a saturday/sunday morning, I find). It was discovered that the customer had been fishing them out of the bins! Unheard of, I know.
This was the interesting bit for me - they then had a piece of paper stuck over the till with this customer's name on, with instructions to refuse to add on points from such receipts. Scary behaviour, but which is scariest?1373/100000 -

Errr.... don't forget your Clubcard??? And then you poor wee souls won't lose out, ahhh.
Funny, I thought this website encouraged the exploitation of loopholes?;)0 -
I cant be bothered with all this wombling to be honest our carpark is very rarely littered but nevertheless im not judging those that do.Id just like to say that maybe yes its wrong picking up the receipts but then again isnt it a criminal offence to actually drop litter!Where does it all end!0

The only thing which this policeman stole from Tesco was Clubcard points - the voucher he was scanning repeatedly was an "extra points" voucher, not a money off one.
So the argument that stealing Clubcard points from Tesco by wombling is not fraud, and could never lead to prosecution, is complete tosh.
QUOTE]
I see that some people are still riding their moral high horses roughshod over the good inhabitants of MSE....
There's no dispute that this gentleman was "stealing" clubcard points - in that he failed to hand over the genuine till spit voucher which Tesco had every right to expect that they would receive as proof of his right to claim each of those points.
Womblers - unlike this fraudster - only claim Clubcard points for purchases which have been definitely been made (admittedly by 3rd parties) and which Tesco have definitely already received the money for. As I've argued previously, Tesco's T&C on this matter do not constitute the law of the land in any moral or legal sense. They are there only to try to minimise the commercial cost to them of operating this incentive scheme - and that says more about their "morals" than mine.
Wombling would only be "fraudulent" in the same sense as we use the word in the above case if people tried to present the same till receipts twice - and I don't think that anyone here is really suggesting otherwise.
So - there really is no comparison between one-time "Wombling" and this gentleman's activities.0 -
At the end of the day Mr T gets his money ,we get the goods we want  that keeps us going back to spend the money to put in the till so he gives u the points , he gets one over on us, we think were getting the bargains the points :j ...I think its called the Chicken and the egg sydrome ......
But we love it anyway :money:
Don't sweat the small stuff, Its all small stuff.0 -
I have never had a problem with using a fob at the petrol station.
There is nothing in the T&C about this. Where did you get this info from?
my husband told me the machines at the petrol station only take the full size card - is he mistaken?'bad mothers club' member 13

I'm quite shocked people are spending their time on this activity - there's money saving and there's taking it too far (yes, in my view and I may not be in the majority sadly). Is it worth it on a morality level and also - do you not have anything better to do with your time??0
