Surprising. We say these companies never allow appeals, but the odd one here and there makes it, maybe so they can claim their appeal system is fair- LOL.

Actually if you are trying to protect someone that is a good idea. Write and appeal, giving your own name and address; though don't confirm being the driver;

from then on they will send the letters to you, as they won't spend £2.50 asking DVLA who the keeper really is.

53girlie,,read the stickies and you will be further reassured that this lot are no more than bandits,,its a scam, full stop,,they rely on decent folk like you and your mum to ,,pay up,,,quick lesson,,,if you recieve on your car a PENALTY charge notice,this is legal and must be paid,,usually issued by police or traffic warden,,,now a PARKING charge notice(which your mum has),,is no more than an unenforceable invoice, no legal backing,scam,con,fiddle,,in other words you have recieved loo paper, so when you have done with it what you usually do, simply, PRESS,FLUSH and forget,end of, nothing can/will hapen to your mum re this scam, so relax, chill, feet up,glass of wine,there you go jobs a good un.

This is the email I have receievd with reference to my mums appeal... I have read all of the above to her and left her to make the decision, i've also written to watch dog! Why is something not being done about these illegal parking charge notices!!!

Just break off all further communication with them. They think you are a live one for even contacting them in the first place. All you have to do to defeat these scammers is.... nothing.

We have all done it and if you search the forum there are plenty of posts of people who have ignored them and they have gone away. Look at their letter chain, it is limited and when they have sent the last of them they give up.

I personally have ignored several tickets from Parking Eye. In fact the last one I got, they did not even waste a stamp writing to me about, so I am on their database of "Non-mugs".

Unfortunately, the notices are not "illegal". They are "unlawful". There is a big difference. For the first, it is a criminal issue. For the second a civil issue. That is how they continue to perpetrate this scam.

Be brave- nothing will happen to you or mum. Don't let these CROOKS have their way.

Yes, you will send another letter. Then, if further action is necessary, you will get one of your mates to send a letter. And if that fails to elicit any money, one of your mates will write pretending to be a solicitor using headed paper they produced using Word...

but if I were you, beadle, I would stop wasting postage after that.

Beadle your post made me chuckle, please dont charge me for your advise!! Ha ha.
However I wish I had come on hear BEFORE writing to them! Reading all of the above does make myself and my mum feel alot stronger in ignoring them, I have told her to not even open the letters just write 'no longer at this address' and put it back in the mail box.
Its just reassurance that were not going to acrew even larger amounts by not paying.
It astounds me that in there response they ask for bank statements....!
Keep the reassuring responses coming, and let me know if your in the same position as us.
