I only glanced at this thread because it appears in the list of "Green & Ethical MoneySaving" topics.

Can't say that I noticed any posts dealing with MoneySaving tips so unlkely to bother looking again.
I would have thought any switched on viewer could've seen that there's support so that people don't make expensive mistakes in their product buying, which also has helped in which food intolerance tests to go for, there's a whole discussion on which are the best vegan cheeses to go for....again helping make a better choice of purchase and not wasting money.........and all this is in the first 4 pages as I quickly flicked through, so I don't think you really bothered to look hey??

There's posts for recipes so you don't have to buy some of the expensive products, links on where to source things making it easier and spending less time looking (still moneysaving). Here's a moneysaving suggestion, and another, another, one from me, another of mine, one that encompasses the whole thread, a great event to get loads of deals....I'm going to stop there because I think you get the gist that you didn't really bother to look before your flippant comment was made.

In the meantime here's some vegan rucksacks at less than half price :D

Actually I'll make the thread a sticky as it seems to upset so many people everytime the thread bumps up, then if you're not interested in the spirit and essence of the thread you can easily ignore it better.

At least that will stop it looking as though something new and important has been added !

It wasn't a flippant comment ! I looked only at what was then the last page and couldn't see a single posting that might save anybody any money; it may well be that the last couple of dozen postings were all 'Off Topic' but I saw no point in wading through the whole thread just in case there were some relevant ones. If the thread is going to continue to ignore money saving techniques, perhaps moving it to another area would be more appropriate ?

Technically it's in the right section of the site "For Who and Where You Are" and it's Green and Ethical. Unfortunately with recent flaming events, yes it has gone off topic at times, and also when a new veg*n joins and chats. Like many threads on this site chat does ensue as people get to know each other, I actually don't think that's too much of problem tbh as you can learn a lot from somebody else's experiences.

Oh and for the record, I felt it was a flippant comment as you hadn't researched what you were complaining about :D

Apologies of something similar has already been posted, but I have found a great black bean sauce recipe posted by Recipe Guy, pasted below.

    Ingredients for Black Bean Sauce:-
    • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
    • 1½ tbsp sherry or saki
    • 1 tsp sugar (or sucralose)
    • 1 tsp sesame oil
    • 2 tbsp groundnut oil - ETA I'm sure any flavourless oil will do
    • 2 tsp cornflour (or soy flour)
    • 3 cloves of garlic
    • 1 thumb of ginger
    • 3 tbsp black beans
    Method for Black Bean Sauce
    • Put everything in a blender and whiz it to death
    • That’s it!!! (easy huh????)
I'm making just about everything from scratch now (although not exclusively vegan, to my shame :o) and this is incredibly easy and economical if you already have the ingredients in your storecupboard!

    Yummy days.....

  • hello to brosers and sisters vegans! nice to meet you!
  • I considered becoming a vegan a couple of years ago, after watching a documentary, but was not able to hold off my craving for liquor chocolates! Some day, I will save the planet, perhaps?

I used to love it from the Chinese but it seems all the take aways in my area have spicier black bean sauce than usual.
