  • I've had my cuppa and have superscrimpers on ;)

I've booked dog in for 1 yr health check and his jabs, It's only £52.50 :T for some reason I thought it was lots more :T so we can afford to get him groomed, buy some more food in bulk and jab him all for the money I was putting aside for him anyway :j I also get 10% off for being armed forces :) (whatever is left will either go to his fund or the kids clothes fund)

I've emailed a few dance schools for my DD, she is desperate to do ballet and I've asked how much it is and if they do a free taster session  we will go from there I suppose. I feel bad for always saying no to everything the kids want to do. I've also found the address for army/air/sea cadets for DS1. He will get the choice of which one he can do but if he refuses them all I will choose. It is literally around the corner too so no excuses from him....I think it's bad for him to be sat in his room constantly on some gadget or another! So he will be warned if he doesn't choose, I will! So that will be his hobby for now. I'd also like to get him into a cheap martial arts course, but I'm assuming that cheap and martial arts won't go together somehow :rotfl: I will look though! DS2 can wait until next year for some hobbies he's only 3 so I don't want him disappearing just yet :o

I've done the gas / elec changeover so just waiting on the new paperwork. Not looking forward to the end of winter bill though in order for me to leave npower and move to edf :o Have a feeling the £30 cashback won't quite cover it somehow :rotfl: Still need to do a few more price comparisons that are due but nothing is urgent so will make a list and do them one at a time. I was speaking to a friend and she has NEVER changed her phone (landline and mobile) gas/elec supplier or anything else in the house for that matter when it's been due for a cheaper price! I would love to get hold of all her paperwork, i bet she is paying a fortune  Even pre lbm I was always comparison site savvy :rotfl:

I've found a car swapping page on facebook and someone is interested in our volvo for a zafira. Something is holding me back though and i'm not sure what. I'm desperate for a bigger car (esp with looking after 6 kids in september and not just 3) so that i'm not tied to the house, and also because the volvo is just too small anyway just for us poor ds1 is scrunched up in the back in between 2 car seats :( but i'm not sure whether I want to swap and then get some dodgy car. The tax is the same bracket i checked. The insurance group is around 10 groups cheaper  so a saving of around £18 a month. The engine is a 1.6 compared to my 2.4l so cheaper petrol maybe ....I don't know what to do. I've also just paid for tax on ours and theirs is due now. But the mot is not due till next year and ours is due in august so perhaps that would balance out *confused*! What would you do, hmmmm?!

Right school run time, cook dinner & tidy up after kids! Fun, fun, fun. Till the next time :A

  • Me again :o:p

I've booked ds1 into martial arts (kung fu) and he's actually looking surprisingly excited about it  the first lesson is free so we will see how much it is and whether ds1 likes it before signing him up :T It's only one lesson a week so not too much of an outlay I hope. Called the army cadets, the local one is full to capacity but we will go over anyway on Thursday, have a look round and put his name down. There is another one which is over the other side of town but if for any reason I can't drive him there he would have to miss it so this one is better placed so he will just have to go on a waiting list.

DD has a free ballet lesson lined up too I hope just waiting for confirmation. Seems expensive though, £4 for half hour, I'm hoping I read it wrong (awaiting email back as she's not answering phone)

I've also been a busy bee on the phone to estate agents about selling my house, with tenant in situ to an investment buyer. Had an email back saying they do indeed have prospective buyers looking for such properties :T so just waiting to see what else they say, and then if I decide to go ahead and market it I will have to get tenant on board. and i'm not sure how to do this. I feel she may get awkward but I also feel this is the correct route for me rather than waiting until she has vacated and then market it empty where I will be losing money  Hmmm....

If it was me looking at doing a car swap I would ask to take their car for a test drive and then drive it straight to the local garage to have it checked over. I did this a few years ago when i brought a car from a dealer - took it to my usual garage and they did not charge me to look it over - the only thing it needed was a hinge on the cover of the tow bar bit!!!

It is nothing to do with the tenant what you do - if you decide to sell with a tenant in place that is your business. Her tenancy agreement would just become between her and the new owner.

The cost of dance sounds about right - i think we used to pay £5 for 45 minutes - maybe this should be our new job!!!

Wow you did have a busy day yesterday!!!

How come you got turned away from the gym?!

We used to have a zafira and we got rid because it was costing us too much on diesel, but it was a 1.9tdi! It would help with being able to take all the kids out at once though! xx

  • Your fault for going to the gym looking like you didnt need it. they thought she will show us all up - go away!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • :rotfl: I wish I looked like I didn't need to go to the gym :o There was a para boxing match on last night in the gym hall and the gym I usually go to (upstairs bit) was turned back into a bar so I couldn't get in there ...I think the downstairs gym (the main one) was probably still open but there were soldiers stopping all the cars checking and I couldn't be bothered waiting so turned round :rotfl: $ky news was parked up there and tbh I didn't fancy showing my gym body in front of all the people that were there :o:rotfl:

I heard back from estate agent and he has been to look at the front of my house, he said he sold one very similar only a few months ago to an investment buyer and he said he could sell mine pretty easily if i market it at the right price. The right price being 105-110,000. My mortgage outstanding is £106,500 and the estate agent fees are 1.5% plus other solicitors fees I will incur for selling. I will be out of pocket but I don't know how much by. I'm not sure what to do. I'm tempted to chance my luck with it at 110,000 which might mean i can pay everything off and break even and be shot of the house. But worse case scenario is I lose money and add to my debt :undecided I don't know what to do, what would you do? The market just seems to keep dropping and never picks up :( I'm very confused as to what to do. Will speak to DH later.

I'm still not sure what to do with the car either. I can see me swapping and there being tonnes of faults with new one which would then give DH ammo to say Told you so, I didn't want to get rid of volvo. Ours is expensive but we've had no major problems with it really unlike the renault.

Anyway some mse :money: things today:

    *NSD
*Dh has made 2 loaves of bread with another left to rise so plenty for the week, all for the price of one usual loaf :T
*I May have bagged two blinds for the kids room for free but she said I need to get some things to fix it in place on the wall (have no idea what she was talking about so said yes, nodded and will ask dh if this is possible)
*also got some free bark coming from same friend just have to go pick it up :T
*kids have had packed lunches all week and will do till friday as i;'ve just sorted snack cupboard out (last week we ran out / couldn't be bothered to be organised and I paid out a fiver for hot lunches!)
*DS1 got a £10 voucher last night for doing a survey :T she was supposed to come this evening not last night but she's nearly 70 bless her so I let her off for being early :rotfl: so may skip the pocket money this week :o:rotfl:

It's raining so no washing out today, will have to put it on dryers in the house. Will be totally rocking the launderette look later on today :rotfl:

  • Slightly worried now! I have just been informed that my old car that we scrapped many moons ago is probably on the road somewhere and still in my name because we never got a little yellow slip when we scrapped it?! If so I am wondering what the repercussions will be for me? Have I done something illegal :o and will my car now be used as some getaway and be all over crimewatch or something and the dvla will go 'oh yes it belongs to Mrs D F wannabe! Go arrest her' :o Oh blimey I don't know what to do! Can't for the life of me remember the number plate either so can't really call the dvla or whoever it is to ask. Oh no, oh no, oh no. Bah. What to do.

  • Hi

If you decide to sell I would put on at 110, you can always reduce but not increase etc.

Lots of estate agents just charge a marketing fee so £300-400 or so. The 1.5% commission element only kicks in if you sell it. So if that's an option for you it could be possible to test the water. In our area you can take it off and on as many times as you want at no extra cost.
