I too have been a victim of these people. I did all the right things. Contacted bank. Cancelled card. Sent reg letter to head office. Rang several times. No luck.

I then emailed the FOS and they have spoken to a Barry and the refund will be in my bank account in 2-3 working days. The full amount of £67.88 with no £5 off for admin.

I asked how they had managed to get through and they said they can use various numbers that they have at their disposal. Win win.

Once these guys hear that its the FOS they cough up.

Hard lesson though I must admit.

So, Mr Smug. How does it feel to respond to people with your acerbic tongue lashing on people who are/were just being human. Why are you still on this thread when you have already given your ten pence-worth of advice several times over.

Another word to add and the word is SCHADENFREUDE. Look it up and btw you have spelt receiving wrongly. So, thats two words you have learned today and how to spell them.....

I think you are being a little hard on Apples2; the post seemed more like resigned frustration than an "acerbic tongue lashing". And as for why Apples2 is still on this thread when they have already given their ten pence worth of advice several times over? Well, a likely answer is that people keep ignoring the ten pence worth (and arguably it is 6499 pence or so worth of advice).

I found it funny that the last person to complain about schadenfreude from regular posters in this thread was cockneysean in #201 (an otherwise helpful post). But by #223 & #224 sean had himself got frustrated at clueless posters and was in turn being admonished for a lack of sympathy.

And lastly, though I wouldn't normally mention it, it would look better in future if, in a post pointing out a spelling mistake, you didn't miss out the apostrophe in the contraction "that's".

Also sentences 2 and 3 should end in question marks, not full stops.

Seeing you keep banging on in your little strop probably.
You have been both insulting and sarcastic toward others but you still feel you hold some moral high ground?

I merely asked a perfectly civil question.

I have been - in your words - insulting and sarcastic towards others. I'm not sure where you got the 'others' from and at what point did moral high ground come into it?

I got a good result from a bad experience. Wouldnt your post have been more helpful to other people - who are going the same thing - to have said something really positive.

    No, didnt think so
