hopefully there is a complaint box, you can think of that if anything is not working

Sorry, what do you mean exactly? I can't quite work out what you are referring to. The broker's websites do not tend to have any complaint reporting facilities on their pages for obvious reasons. If they did the sites would probably crash with overloading of their servers lol.

I have spent the past day or so reading through page after page of the Loans section of this website. I managed to get to page 80 and have read countless threads relating to these dodgy practices by so-called brokers. In fact I think they are pushing it even referring to themselves as brokers as no one seems to have gotten a loan from them whether they have paid the fee or not.

Thanks Sean - I love this post and I do agree that there are some people on here who can be very condescending when it comes to replying to people in financial difficulties. I can understand their points, but do not agree with how they come across. The same people as well can offer some brilliant advice and certainly do help.

I do always try and empathize with people who are in a desperate situation - after all it can happen to all of us. The main thing people need to learn though is lifestyle changes. What has brought them to this situation and how they can change it.

A sticky thread would be a great idea, and hopefully the admins will add this in!

Stickies should be short and concise, something your posts most definitely are not.

bit of a change of tact though. in one of your last posts you suggested the best way is to go into your bank and deny ever having had contact with them, even though you did. Deny giving your account details over, even though you sat next to your wife whilst she read out the card details to them.

as for the remainder, many people have said the same in far fewer words. despite all the posts, it didn't stop you falling for it and it won't stop them either.

    This is exactly it.

Despite all the lad's protestations, he still allowed his wife to willingly give over his card details to one of these brokers.

These companies exist because folk are stupid / gullible enough to fall for them. They know that 95% of people will end up getting a refund. But the 5% that don't will help the companies make a profit.

Until people are wise enough not to use them, they will always exist.

Seriously mate, you make me laugh as this is exactly the type of post that I am talking about. It adds nothing of value to the thread and does not provide any useful information.

My solution in the other thread worked for me as it was not me that handed over the card details, and the situation was entirely different as it involved a phone call where the adviser was telling a few porky-pies, so no neither my wife nor myself fell for the usual tactics of these people. Obviously my situation worked out for me for those reasons, but as I have outlined in the post in this thread, this will be the best way to claim your refund.

I hate having to go off topic like this, but where does it say that stickies should be short and concise? Stickies should contain information that needs to be referred to again and again by people that are asking the same questions over and over again. This way frustration is avoided by users such as yourself not having to keep repeating yourself.

My posts may look long to you, but in actuality they are not really that long are they? I haven't counted the words but they would barely fill a GCSE essay. Also, there is no pointless drivel and all of the information is of use to those that need to read it, with all the ins and outs explained. That way people will not need to post follow up questions as all of the info that they need is contained within the post. If I have posted any useless chat please point it out and I will edit accordingly.

And with regards to people posting the same info in fewer words, this simply isn't the case. They have made posts in an insensitive manner telling people what to do and not why to do it. Anyway, I don't really need to explain this as I am sure you know exactly what the situation is. I have provided a properly thought out answer to the problem that isn't going to put anyone's nose out of joint. Sorry, but you know it's true and there are others that will agree with this point.

Can't we just all get along and start working together in the true spirit of the site instead of trying to get one-up on those that have been unfortunate enough to make some silly errors? Unfortunately I think that some people take the view that by using a broker they have a better chance of getting a loan as they think that the broker has some magic trick that they don't, hence they end up paying the fee in their moment of desperation.

e2a: I see Gaz has also decided to chime into the thread with a pointless post that also adds nothing of value. If you feel this way about the problems that people are having, then why bother posting? All you are doing is clogging up the thread with your drivel and making the necessary information harder to filter out.

Please bear in mind that it isn't the same set of users making this mistake. It is happening to new people every day. If you feel as though you are sick of posting about it, simply take a back seat and let someone else answer the question in the thread.

This is exactly the reason that a sticky is needed.

If you wish to be pedantic, my posts do not contain any protestations whatsoever, they contain the necessary information on how to get the situation resolved.

And CHR15, it's change of tack and not tact as you have written. See how this post I have written adds nothing to the thread and is really pretty pointless? Why don't we cut the nonsense out and stay on topic?

  • fRIEND has had same thing happen on Friday she applied for a loan 4 months ago any long story short she was getting high rate with the run around these companies give you so I stepped in and lent her the money which was a 150.00 she paid me back a month later job done
however Friday she looked at her account 69.99 0/d well to say she was speechless is an understatement they have removed that amount o/d her account all the bank have said at some point you have searched for a loan they have passed or sold your details on [yes card details] I wont go into the wrong and rights of what I think  but im not happy I have helped her again with fuel money to get to work  I find it totally out of order they should do this.
but the bank said we see 25 to 30 customers a week because they had same thing happen!!!!!!
well its probably on here some were but here is the list of companies this crepe goes under
    MYLOAN.CO.UK
    MYDEBIT.CO.UK
    MYIVA.CO.UK
    MYFINANCE.CO.UK
THERE are a few more all registered to same address best thing to do is complain to ombudsman
she has no money back yet but after a few short to the point emails she has been asked to send her bank statement in they have no record of her ever signing up with them but bank statement clearly shows there name and a number [not co.uk] but cant find any different . she has now had to cancel the card to any one else helping themselves to her hard earned money:mad::mad::mad:
