Call 02071750125 and demand a refund got this from the bank and fsa. Good luck

And the nice lady/man on the other will say 'yes of course, no problem'.

Then nothing will happen because you didn't follow the T&Cs that you agreed to when you initially gave them access to your account to help themselves to your cash.

You can then repeat this cycle until finally you realise the futility of it all and decide to give up or write to them to ask them to return your money.

  • I have just been stung by this company, my own fault (I have read all these posts and do know how stupid I have been). I was not aware that Myloans were a broker and most of the links were broken. As soon as I realised, I e-mailed them to ask to cancel my account with them. They have not yet tried to take the money from me and they would have a job anyway because I don't have any. Would you suggest that I phone in to my bank and ask for a card replacement so that my card number and 3 digit code will be different and they will not then be able to take the money ever?

If you can, keep the account empty so they can't take any money.

But in the meantime, you will need to open a new account and transfer all your standing orders/direct debts/payments in/etc.

Just cancelling the card and getting another one will NOT stop them keep trying for the money. You gave them authority on your present card and they will keep trying to take the money from it.

How do they try to get the money if when I have a new card with a different long number and 3 digit code? sorry if this is a stupid question but I did this as I can't obviously now get to the bank to explain and get them to help me stop the payment. MyLoan have not tried to take anything from me as yet.
  • The instructions you gave with your old card are still valid, even though a new card may have been issued. Many people have found this out to their cost.

I bet the company have already attempted to take money from your account, but as you stated earlier, your account is empty. They will keep trying. Probably several times every day. They will start off with the full amount, and then gradually reduce it until they get a hit. They also know when benefits, etc, are paid into accounts, and are adept at emptying accounts before you even see the money.

Your bank may be closed now, but their customer services are open 24 hours a day. Get on the phone now, open a new account, transfer your direct debits, etc, and make sure your payments in go into the new account. If you can't do it, make sure you access your account within minutes of any benefits or wages going into your account and remove any money into another account so it is beyond these chancers or they will get their money from you.

They will or may have set up whats called a CPA (so believe) which the bank can cancel (you ask them to do it) so changing the card details eg a new card wont do anything, go ahead and ask for a new card and see what happens.

Why do you have to get to the bank to tell them, why not call them ?

Just a point of note, the FSA hasn't existed for quite a while now, it has split into two bodies (the FCA and the PRA).

On a second point you can demand all you like but you gave them consent to them taking this broker charge so it would be better if people followed the brokers T&C's rather than issuing threats which won't achieve anything other than waste the time period you have to request a refund through the method stated in the T&C's.

They use Continuous Payment Authorities http://www.fca.org.uk/news/continuous-payment-authorities-your-right-to-cancel

Note you can ask your bank to cancel any CPA's as is your right under PSR 2008 Section 55.
