So annoyed with myself this morning, DDs announced that they would like to see Taylor Swift next year and new tickets went on sale this morning. I actually had the tickets reserved in the basket, but decided to ring DH to check if it was OK on a school night. He didn't answer and I lost the tickets. Then they've sold out.

Little things like that seem to be getting on top of me at the moment as now I just feel like crying. Must buck up - it's not the end of the world, and the girls didn't even know I was trying for them.

I had a look at those too - DD would have loved it but the O2 is a horrendous journey for us so I didn't try for it.
I have convinced DH that we should go to Camp Bestival this summer to introduce DD to festivals in a safe way.

:oAm so sorry for earlier post, compared to many other people I have no reason to feel so sorry for myself. Blame it on the hormones.:o

In better news, mentioned to someone at 2nd job my disappointment at failing to get Taylor Swift tickets, she went onto the O2 site and immediately found me some, so £169.25 later and I have 3 tickets:eek:. Saving them as a surprise for Xmas, girls will be so happy.

After my earlier embarassing and self-pitying post I thought I'd better make a note of the things I have to be thankful for:

    1. 2 beautiful, intelligent, hard-working daughters of whom I am VERY proud
    2. my wonderful husband to whom nothing is too much trouble (including re-painting the lounge-diner when I've decided it doesn't go with the wallpaper)
    3. we are financially stable enough that we can OP our mortgage and afford expensive concert tickets when we want to
    4. DHs business is doing well in the new premises we bought last year.
    5. I have wonderful supportive friends both here and in the real world.
    6. We are in our forever home and making it the way we want it.

Feeling better now, and will re-read this list when necessary!

2nd job pay has been left in current act to pay for paint.

Now CTC for last year has been finalised so I have released the £300 to clear the holiday clothes pot of -£101.45 & put £198.55 towards Barclaycard bill. Total spend on holiday came to £860 (including Barclaycard £24.95 charge!) I have £500 in budget, plus the £198.55. I now have £441 left to clear.

 at Halfords - I ordered a skate board ramp for DD2s birthday, should be 2 mini ramps and a bridge between. What arrived was just 1 mini ramp. Enquired why - apparently their website is wrong - take it or leave it. It appears to have gone from their website today though strangely.

DD1 has bought a letter home from school about a trip to the WW1 sites at Ypres next July - £290. Would really like her to go as I think it's a good experience, so now need to pay for that as well. Have paid £50 deposit.

No actual MFW news though - sorry!:o

  • Glad you are feeling a little better.

Yay to getting the concert tickets - I am sure they will be over the moon.

Hi MCI, the girls will be over the moon. I do feel a little guilty though as I'd already texted DD1 to tell her I'd tried and couldn't get them. She said thanks for trying anyway, but it would've been nice. I had real trouble not telling her! Think I will have 2 very surprised daughters on Xmas day!:)

Online food shop done & £2 over budget with last weeks farmf00ds visit. However also spent another £11 in a$da this morning.

DH started repainting the lounge last night and definitely looks better. Needs another coat though as looking patchy.

DD2 has a swimming gala tonight so that'll be visit to Mcds on the way, and DD1 has a friend over tonight. Hopefully at some point some more decorating.

DD2 and I made a wish list from the new Lakeland catalogue which arrived yesterday. Came to £54.25 - struggling not to order it now!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
