Mine got up to £380pcm. I started taking monthly readings, then changed tariff with the same supplier and they dropped it to £205. A significant improvement.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I am always amazed at other people's monthly energy DD. I sometimes worry that I'm not paying enough and I will be hit with a mega bill. My electricity and gas bill last year was £560. Perhaps being out at work all day has an unexpected money saving advantage.Mortgage Free November 2018

Our energy bill has been going up for years, we've swapped supplier and uswitch say we're on the best tarriff. We've got a draughty 3 bed late victorian detached house. We replaced the boiler a year ago and have now replaced all but 2 windows with new double glazing so hopefully we'll see some savings soon.
Wow mallygirl that makes mine look good, but Staffordia's looks far better!! If only!!Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53

Went to visit 2nd school last night and surprisingly actually quite liked it. That's really thrown a spanner in the works as we always assumed we'd send her to the same school her sister is at.
They are both brand new school buildings with brand new heads bought in to sort them out, 1 is closer and her friends will go there, the other one I drive 1.5 miles to, her sister goes but her friends probably won't.
The second is in a permanent partnership with a local high achieving school and her sister is doing really well there - I know it's working. DH liked the first local one, but if the head moved on they don't have the same backing, they also haven't proved they are getting results. Poor DD2 is stuck and getting upset. I really don't know what to do for the best.

A very emotive time for you all. Good luck.
I can sympathise with the energy bills - mum's is through the roof, trying to get it down with new windows and tariff fix...these drafty victorian houses are particularly pesky.
Don't worry about 'waffle', that's what diaries are for...mine's full of it:rotfl:
Have a great weekend.

Hi Megala , sorry I have not popped in for a while. Not sure what I would do either regarding schools , does she have a preferance?MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Hi MCI & Newgirly, no she doesn't seem to have a preference, and I am quite worried that she'll say what she thinks I want to hear. I need it to be her decision as well as ours. She's the one who'll be there for 5-7 years.
One minute I prefer 1 school, then I'll talk to someone else and prefer the other.
In MFW news - standard payment made and interest of £257.40 added. As we're offset that's an automatic OP of £72.90. Balance now £98398.46. I need another £10 approx to knock another month off.
Food shopping this week was £89:eek:, but it did include £8 for drinks for DD2s birthday party in 2 weeks. Also complained about some out of date pasta & returned some unsuitable replacement yogurts so expecting a refund of £5.25.
Just visited farmf00ds for the first time to use a £2.50 off £25 voucher, got about 12-14 meals for this (the meat or fish anyway). So next weeks budget is £50.
Hopefully a load of decorating again this weekend when DH comes home from work.

hope you've made progress with the schools situation.
your mfw is still going really well.MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260 -
Hi Tootoo - lovely to 'see' a new face!
The schools situation is ongoing and keeping me awake at night as I don't know what do to for the best.
T£sco are refunding me for the out of date pasta - £5.50 instead of the 2 for £4 offer I bought it on! Result!
DH painted a lot of the lounge/diner over the weekend. The first paint I bought he decided was too white, not cream enough. The 2nd he has used and it looks great with the dark red archway, but not sure it goes with the wallpaper! He is now saying he'll do it again if I want. I don't know what to do there either as he moaned all the way through the first time.
I'm getting really stressed, but as DD1 says they're both #firstworldproblems. Thanks for your help!
Only other money spent over the weekend was £19.98 for a mini skateboard & ramp for DD2s birthday. My little tomboy!Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53

One problem solved - my wonderful husband
has insisted that if I'm not happy then he will repaint the whole lounge/diner. Have now taken 1 can back and bought 2 new ones - has cost me £16 extra, have tried it, still not sure, but they dry a different colour don't they? This is a lesson for buying tester pots, I just wanted cream!
Also popped into sp0rt$d1r3ct on the way back and bought him a superman onesie for Xmas, he keeps saying he wants one, not sure if he's joking or not.Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53
