To my shame this decorating started when we went on holiday at the end of August! So you would expect it to be done by now, the painting is nearly done, the staining of the woodwork is never ending, and I think I need to find someone to wallpaper for me!

We just can't be bothered after work, and then we've had busy weekends too. It'll get there. (I hope!)

£1.50 OP made from more T£sc0 clubcard vouchers. WOW!!

Err - I need to admit to a very spendy weekend. £14.45 in co-op for cash & bread, £5 for a skateboard for DD2, £13.75 DH spent in A$da on treats, £4.10 for flowers, & £20 for an emergency dinner in Mcd0nalds.

That wasn't too bad until I decided to order 2 1pads at £400 each!! For the girls for Xmas. I don't usually go mad for them at Xmas and they accept they are not spoilt, while also seeing friends get given everything imaginable. They would never ever dream of even asking for one, and for that reason alone I feel they deserve one. There definitely won't be much to go with them though! Have put it on DH credit card until I decide how to pay for them. I can afford them so don't worry I'm putting myself in debt for them, it's just where I decide to take the money from, as they're definitely way out of the Xmas budget!!

DD2 was hoping for a bike for Xmas, but it would need to be a small ladies one, which would be slightly too big at present, and she wouldn't get any use out of it until the spring anyway. And DD1 couldn't think of anything she wanted, just bits and pieces.

There - I hope I've justified myself enough???

    Seconded :)

Thanks MCI & Gally, just waiting for them to arrive now. Why do I always worry there'll be a problem?

Because there always is - DH waited at work until 7.30pm yesterday and finally Argos told me that Yodel had tried to deliver at 10.50am. They hadn't because my desk looks at the car park and no-one had been, there are also plenty of others about.

I ring to chase this morning, not gone out today, will hopefully go out tomorrow - that OK I suppose as DH working late tomorrow. Next thing at 1.20pm a text arrives - will be here between 12-9pm today! DH needs to leave for a school meeting at 5! Can't get through to anyone either! I give up! Now hoping it arrives before 5 (fingers crossed).

And deep breath......in actual MFW news £50 OP from NV surveys.

Still no delivery, apparently they tried at 3.25pm yesterday and couldn't gain access. If they could see the building they'd know how stupid this sounds! It's a large building with an obvious reception and a huge lorry sized workshop door that was wide open all day yesterday. Everyone is running out every time anything drives into the carpark and they 'can't gain access'. I can't see they've even tried, no other delivery company has ever had a problem.

I've told Argos I want to cancel the order and get from someone who can deliver. Does anyone know who PC World use for deliveries?

ETA: Local PCWorld has them in stock and I have reserved them for later today. Just need to get Argos to cancel and refund now!

  • Oh dear, I am sorry you are having trouble. Some delivery companies are so stupid.

Good luck with getting it all sorted.

Got them from PC World!!! Along with £60 cashback in a months time if I remember to register (have set an alarm), and 2 months free 'whatever happens' insurance as they kept me waiting while they found them. They offered me 1 month but I said pointless as they wouldn't be opened until Xmas, so I got 2 months.

They couldn't do enough for me in there, completely different experience to Argos. Am going to see how to leave feedback on PC World's website, and then write a letter of complaint to Argos.

Was paid from 2nd job yesterday, £40 moved to school trip fund. They wanted to cut my hours from 4-5 down to 2. I've refused as not worth it, I can pick up 2 hours for less hassle at main job. I've handed my notice in to leave next Friday, I think they were quite shocked as I've been there nearly 9years.

Busy weekend ahead, I'm helping at girls show rehearsals tomorrow, then DH is moving scenery to the theatre on Sunday. Hopefully this means no money spent.

Very busy weekend helping out backstage at girls show and then moving/putting together scenery, and also decorating which meant absolutely no time to spent any money, apart from rabbit food and newspapers from purse which doesn't count.

Really busy week ahead as helping backstage every evening, still the volunteers who put the show on put in so much time and effort, I feel I need to help out a bit. Not all parents obviously feel the same!
