    Thank you so much kingstreet
  • Interesting. I just applied for my Nationwide mortgage today. I'm using London and Country brokers (as recommended by MSE), who told me that Nationwide are one of the quickest lenders, and that the average time to get final approval is 24 days (!) though that includes remortgages which are generally done more quickly. He reckoned that Nationwide was a good choice if I'm looking to move things along quickly...

My mortgage offer finally arrived today, 8 days after the text saying it was being sent :)
  • Hooray, received my offer in the post this morning. :j

Cannot fault Nationwide one iota, they have been excellent in my case. No additional information requested and they have acted very quickly considering they are meant to be snowed under at the minute.

    My timeline:
Application Made: 27th March (by post due to family gifted deposit)
    Valuation Instructed: 5th April
    Valuation Carried Out: 16th April
    Valuation Satisfactory: 18th April
Confirmation of Mortgage Approval: 19th April
Mortgage Offer Received in Post: 20th April

By my reckoning, that's 13 working days (allowing 1 day for posting application, and excluding Easter bank holidays) from application to formal offer paperwork being received.

Pretty damn good service from Nationwide for me, and two very happy people in the house this morning!

Best of luck to everyone else waiting for news on their application.

    Cheers,
    MB78.
  • Got my AIP today, though at 89% not the 90% I asked for, despite the fact that it's easily affordable for me and I have 999 credit rating. Apparently they're very reluctant to give out 90% mortgage anymore. Still, not a problem - glad it's all moving ahead!

Speaking to the broker about the full application tomorrow, and hoping to get the survey organised ASAP as the vendor is keen to move quickly.

I wouldn't worry - it took em a few weeks. If you've done it through a broker, then they will have the offer emailed through to them.

It's an administrative issue rather than one of control or decision making.

Got a text on Friday saying the valuation was booked for 19/04 which was obviously that same day! Hoping I hear today or tomorrow if they are happy with it....I guess after that it will just be waiting for the offer! Fingers Crossed! x
