I am in the same boat as you i got the text that mortgage offer has gone through but have not got anything in post yet. But i called my MB and he sent me the offer by mail but still not sure whats gonna happen. Worst part is they called my work place after sending me the text that your offer haa been approved.

Anyone been in same position or are we worrying unnecessarily.

When did you get the text?
What did they ring your employer for?
    This is killing me!
Surely they cant offer a mortgage and then do more checks and then decide not too...why not do it all before?
  • Full application Saturday, valuation Monday, offer by text Thursday.

Can't belive how quick that was!

They sent me the text on tuesday and did the employer ref on wednesday I dont know what happened there to be honest but my mortgage broker sent me the offer by email, now i am not sure that after this can they still back off, certainly they have put some conditions like I have to clear my Credit cards outstanding balances and all which is not an issue with me but still waiting, there was nothing in the post till yesterday and neither has my solicitor got anything. Hoping that we both get it today so I can relax a little over the weekend
  • Amazing thread - great stuff guys

    This is my timeline:

    1. Application completed by broker on 28th March 2013
    2. Contacted on 12th April 2013to confirm valuation
    3. Valuation taken place on 15th April 2013
    4. on 17th April 2013 Underwriter asking where I got the deposit from. Advised from another account and emailed bank statement showing transfer to savings account.

Its now 19th April 2013 still no update. They have sent me an email:

Based on the assessment of the valuation report we are pleased to consider the loan amount of £100000. Please note this is still subject to any other outstanding information that we have requested from you and our final underwriting checks once all documentation is received.

Does this mean I am close or they will be happy once they see my statement or its not looking good?

    Thanks guys.
  • Nationwide can do what they want...

If there are any material changes to your application they can pull it.

I have not had any changes in my application or information provided and i already have a copy of offer letter in my mail, just waiting for the one in post to come through but this last statement makes me nervous. Well I think you cant be sure till you got the keys in your hand.

Anyone else finding that it takes ages for them to post something out or for them to receive post and go into their system?

Or is it just me. Between 1-2 weeks for them to receive post it seems.

I am going to ask my broker for a copy of the offer by email too.
    Just so i have something.
They haven't asked us to clear credit cards or anything.
We only have the 1 credit card and not used much on it.
    I hope we hear too.
Let me know when you receive yours because mine shouldn't be long after :)
