Mmmmmn I'll take some waffles & syrup Robin, that sounds fantastic!!
I've never 'done' Christmas before as MIL has a much bigger house and lots more money than we have so it's always seemed easier to go there, but in future I will suggest that we have it here (if she still buys the food!!).
DH can at any point retire upstairs when he gets wound up, the problem is he doesn't see that HE is the problem! Despite suggesting that he needs to remove himself from the situation regardless, I'm not usually met with a favourable response.
Today has been ok. We have played with the boys' new board games etc but DS1 has tried everyone's patience on several occasions. Truth be told I'm feeling a bit down but I don't know why. I'm tired, I've got a headache and I've sneezed a few times so I've just got everything crossed that I'm not getting MIL's flu.
Tomorrow is my Mum's birthday so we are meeting up with her and the rest of the family for a meal at lunchtime. I'm then working 5-8pm which I'm apprehensive about but at least it's a short shift.
Counting down the time until bedtime, but to be fair the boys are finally sitting down quietly infront of Toy Story 2 XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hi PLMBL
Just caught up with your diary - everytime I go away for a few days loads of things have happened by the time I get back! In 2013 I'll have to check in everyday to to help you out. :rotfl:I was so touched by your story of DS1 calling 999, what a clever chap! Your family really do sound like a lovely bunch. Well done on cooking the Christmas dinner too, I've only done it once in my life, dropped the turkey coming out of the oven, fat everywhere, total disaster, curiously enough no one has asked me since!
I really like the PAW idea so I am definitely going to steal that for 2013.
Just a quick note about CA, I definitely think you should go for it. I don't know what your income is, but if you are receiving a partial award of Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit, you'd be entitled to a Carers Premium too.Barclaycard [STRIKE] £2770 [/STRIKE] now £2690.

Thanks mummytogirls! I'm no worse than I was when I went to bed so hopefully it won't come to much. Still have a bit of a headache so will keep popping the paracetamol in the hope that it will ward off anything else lingering. Not feeling down like I was yesterday thankfully, think I was just tired.
I'm sure work later will be fine. In a strange way I feel more confident knowing DS1 can cope but in another I'm panicking more as the threat is more real with coming out of the blue. I'm working 5-8 but I'll be out 4.30-8.30 including travel. DS2 will be in bed for the last hour and I think MIL should be ok today to be with them.
Nice to have you back Fudgie and :rotfl: at the turkey story!!
I will definitely be looking at carers allowance, if I can get it my mind is made up. That said, I will have to try to make sure I get some time away every so often. The benefit of being at work means I get to be me not just wife/mum/carer.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Boss just called and told me not to come in to work tonight as the shop is dead and she knows I'd rather be home! This is excellent news (if you don't focus on the losing wages bit!).
DH surfaced this morning at 10.30 am! The last thing he said before he went to sleep was I'll get up with the boys in the morning so you can have a lie in .......Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hope you had a nice time with your mum today and glad you have got the evening off, even if it is at a cost. Keeping my fingers crossed for you regarding CA. Perhaps you could look into a part-time college course or something when you get it.

Yesterday went well. Lots of my family are ill with various things so about half dropped out of Mum's birthday meal, but there were still 11 of us and the food was gorgeous. DH enjoyed it too but he got a bit down/annoyed with himself when someone asked him what he got for Christmas and he couldn't remember.
We then called in to Mr A's on the way home as I'd planned on getting a few bits (milk etc) when I finished work, but obviously I ended up being off. While we were in there DH said he felt a but 'weird' so we calmly but quickly made our way through the till and back to my car. Thankfully we made it home no problem but I was a little panicked (on the inside!) to say the least.
DS2 was awake for an hour last night 4.30-5.30am. No apparent reason why and I went in 4 times in that hour to see to him. Thankfully he redeemed himself by sleeping in until 9am this morning so I finally got a lie in! Mind you, so did DH and he certainly didn't get up in the night! Will take the boys out for a run on the beach or something today if it stays dry I think. They haven't expended enough energy this last week and I think that's what has disrupted their sleep patterns.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
