When I asked for luck I didn't mean the bad variety!!!

Glad you are feeling brighter today. we all have days/weeks when it gets too much.
I did have to laugh about the bit about LTSB having to spend money printing your payments out. lovely,
its nice to replace that awful feeling of "oh dear how much did I spend last month" to "oooh looks how much I have paid off". Well done hun xxxx:beer:0 -

Hi Pooh, inventory/clean out done! As you say, amazing how much is in there!! I was sure it hadn't been too long since I last cleared out the freezer but I still had to get rid of some stuff that would be well gone. And there were things in there I'd forgotten all about! Nice to know we can eat well for at least a week without having to go food shopping though. Probably longer!Hi PLMBL
Just caught up again, I hope you didn't buy iron supplements from a health food shop. I made that mistake once, they were the size of horse tranquilizers and tasted awful. I soldiered on until I noticed someone I worked with was taking comparitively tiny sugar coated ones. I'm sure you have more sense.
Lol Fudgie, I don't know about the more sense bit, but luckily I went to B00ts for the supplements and they are small in size. You've reminded me that I haven't had one yet today though! Rubbish aren't I, I'm only 3 days in and I've forgotten alreadyStressedSteph wrote: »I did have to laugh about the bit about LTSB having to spend money printing your payments out. lovely,

Thanks Steph! We haven't spent on the card since before DH's accident, but I can still remember getting statements with 20 transactions on them, all purchases. It's so good to see they are all payments now, but it will be even better when all those payments are going in to a savings account not to LTSB!
Today has been fairly relaxed and quiet. Helped with the weigh in at fat club at lunch time (on today instead of tues with it being New Years Day then). Gained5lbs
. So much for losing 2lbs last week! I suppose at least overall that makes a 3lb gain. Most people did gain though, the biggest was 8lbs but the consultant said someone in her other group gained 12lbs this week!!!!!
Then went to B plus Q as DH wanted a shelving unit that was in the sale. He's been desperate for shelves in the outhouse for months if not a year but I kept saying no as we couldn't afford it. It cost £30 but it's made him very happy. Hopefully now we can look at decorating our bedroom on the cheap. We have been given some gorgeous (and very expensive!) curtains and bedding from a family friend who has recently downsized her home, so it just means some paint and a new carpet when we can afford it. Oh and blinds. And new bedroom furniture. Oops not looking so cheap afterall Xx

So, it's New Year's Eve! Traditionally time for reflection and resolutions. If you can't beat em....
Positives for 2012
Mortgage Company paid out on the Critical Illness Policy so mortgage is way smaller than this time last year.
Got the debts down to around £11k which is less than half what they were.
DH has improved throughout the year despite the seizures etc.
DH was awarded DLA and we are by no means flush, but we have got through thanks to careful budgeting, planning and being more sensible.
I have two lovely, well adjusted boys who have proven they can cope with a drama!
I've met some wonderful online friends through MSE.
Hopes/Plans for 2013
To continue to decrease the debt by any means possible, hopefully by at least half.
To look into getting Carers Allowance.
To reduce grocery spending even further by doing more baking and batch cooking.
To have more NSD's. Only managed 2 in December and they were Christmas Day and Boxing Day! (Today is also a potential NSD).
To start entering competitions again. This has fallen by the wayside thanks to laptop going kaput and me using my phone for the internet. Need to look at getting laptop fixed or somehow replaced.
To redecorate the house where funds allow. We spend all our time here, it would be nice to have it nice!
To lose weight and be healthier. I spend £5 a week at fat club and I've worked out that means £260 a year. I need to make this worth it or I can't justify this spend. If I got to my target weight I'd go for free so that's the plan. I need to be healthier in general just so I can be able to look after everyone else, and also for if or when we do decide to have baby number 3 (still totally undecided on that one!).
To manage a little break away if possible. We were lucky enough this year to have two 2 day breaks and they made all the difference.
To Continue to see the positives and enjoy life, whatever it may bring.
I'm sure I will think of more!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

To borrow a phrase from Mooloo: Onwards and Upwards in 2013!0 -
Thanks Robin. I didn't think there was any need to reflect on the negatives, though they will always be part of who I am. Hopefully there will be less of them in 2013 though!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
