    Glad your DH seems better.

Fingers crossed you find something soon on the job front. Def put your name down for extra shifts at job 2.

Are there any part time jobs available in finance?

Just cos the playgroup lady wants qualified staff does not mean she is going to get them or that they will be any good. I'd have a chat with her again and highlight your skills and commitment to the group. Also you know the children and how it all works, she has not got long till term starts again and will need a minimum number of staff. If you have the support of the other parents even better. Keep all your options open and don't give up yet!

I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.

    BC xx

Hi, i've just read your whole diary and wow what an inspiration you are. To go thru what you have and to still be so positive is fantastic. I have subscribed to your diary. I am sorry to hear that you have been made redundant and i hope something crops up soon for you xx

    Keep Your Chin Up

    This thing won't last forever
You'll get over it you'll see
    Things will very shortly
Be like they used to be
You just keep your chin up
And on this you can depend
    Everything will turn out right
    Believe me, in the end.

    Love Granny x

PS Have you considered agency work?

Sorry Granny I must have missed this! Thank you for the poem :A.

The problem with agency work is that it's not guaranteed and it will adversly affect DH's benefit having to chop and change how much I earn all the time. Something to think about though Xx

Hey smarties smiley-greet022.gif so nice of you to join me for my wafflings smiley-talk024.gif. I hope I don't bore you too much :D.

Today we met my family for coffee at the coast. Grandma gave me £10 which almost covered what we all had, so not quite a NSD but a LSD. It was 'Harbour Day' so plenty of activities going on including a staged sea helicopter rescue mission which both DSs enjoyed. My Uncle (Mum's brother), his wife and their 9 year old son are up here for a visit at the moment so it was nice to see them too. We are all meeting up for lunch again tomorrow, fingers crossed it wont be too expensive or bad for the diet!!

I got a call this afternoon to tell me that another Uncle (Dad's brother) is in hospital after a heart attack :(. He should be ok thank goodness, but it's made me realise how important looking after myself is from now on in. He's the other end of the country though so best I can do is send a card and my well wishes.

I also spoke to my best friend tonight and ex colleague of the playgroup. She mentioned she got some extra pay in her July wages which she assumes is holiday pay. I've emailed the girl who pays the wages to query this as I still haven't had a response from the woman dealing with the closure.

  • Just caught up. Not been here much. What a time of it you are having . Have you told tax credits you are not working? Might get some more money from them. Not sure if your husband gets Disability Living Allowance but worth looking into

No wonder you're worried re your husband. My cousin has a brain injury due to encephalitis and he has the most strange expressions at times and his voice changes timbre too. It is the most unnerving thing to see. He does have permission to drive though. Thinking about you and hope a job comes along quickly for you xx

  • Hey PLMBL - ah knew it wouldn't be long till that fighting spirit would be shining through again :T

I keep thinking how lovely it is that you have such a close family, it will be lovely for your boys when they look back as adults to their childhood and remember all the family times you had.

What's the news on the bathroom? Finished yet? Am very excited to be joining the world of grown up, hopefully, very soon :T we have just had an offer accepted on a property so hopefully it will all go through without a hitch - am I being overly optimistic??? :p

Hope you and yours enjoy the beautiful weather today :)

Hey MiT, hope you are ok.

I hadn't even thought of tax credits . We only get child tax credits not working tax so it hadn't entered my head yet to call them. smiley-ashamed001.gif. I will do so on monday (or maybe tuesday after I speak to the new playgroup provider).

We are looking in to DLA again thank you.

I hope things improve for your cousin, and I know what you mean about it being unnerving. It's interesting to know he is allowed to drive though.

Thats fantastic news about having your offer accepted Determined smiley-bounce016.gif. Congratulations!

The weather isnt so fab here today. It's dry but dull. Fingers crossed it brightens up here later, although to be fair we will be indoors for the meal anyway so it doesn't really matter. As long as my washing dries on the line!

Had a full on panicky tantrum this morning! When I last bought something from Amazon (using vouchers gained for free from swagbucks!) they offered free delivery if I signed up for something as a trial. If not cancelled they would bill me at £49 for the year, which would enable me to get free delivery all year. Now, I don't buy enough to warrant it but I signed up for the free trial to get my last item delievered free. Then I forgot to cancel it and they charged me £49 today :(. I was so angry with myself and promptly burst into tears, we simply don't have £49 to waste like that. Anyway, I got straight on to it and as it hasn't been used during the trial they are cancelling it and refunding me. MASSIVE sigh of relief! What with this and not realising the hotel in Edinburgh hadn't been paid for I feel like I'm dropping clangers all over the place outfield.gif.

Ooh look, while I've been typing the sun has found it's way out of the clouds smiley-happy005.gif.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday Xx

  • Phew! Sooooooooooo gutting when that happens!

PLMBL can you explain to me how you get all the animations? I saw you and granny chatting about it and am too lazy to trawl back through!

I know so exciting, but lots of hurdles along the way which could bring it to a halt, so trying to keep my feet on the ground, but it's so hard!
