Hello my lovely, so sorry to hear the carp news about your job. Hope it means there is something good coming your way though.

I think MIL was a bit off paying just for OH, not something I would consider doing ever.

Was thinking about you on Monday as OH and I went to Newcastle for the day on the train and got stuck in Revolutions waiting for the rain to stop. We walked around all day in vest tops, with OH carrying my bag with coats and umbrella and cursing me for my forward planning. Ha, was he glad at 3pm!!!! We eventually had to run for the train and ended up with very soggy feet crossing the road. My trainers ended up in the washing machine that evening. :D

Glad you had a nice time in Edinburgh. We nearly went to Berwick on Wed but went to Newbiggin instead for fish and chips as Berwick was a tad too far. Had a lovely week up your neck of the woods though. Weather was a bit crazy but didn't mar our hols at all.

Talk soon, hope you are feeling better now

  • Hi Granny, glad you are home safe!

I'm sorry on behalf of all Geordies for the carp weather you had on your jollies smiley-sad058.gif. Those storms were really something though eh?! At least you found a nice place to hide out smiley-eatdrink007.gif.

I had forgotten that I wasn't feeling well which can only mean I am feeling better :rotfl:.

Looking forward to reading about your hols on your diary Xx

  • Forgot to say, DH got a letter from DVLA today saying they had written to his consultants and expected a reply from them within 6 weeks, at which point they will start investigations into whether or not he is fit to drive. I quote 'our investigations can take several weeks so there is no reason for you to call us with enquiries. We will update you when an outcome is reached'. In other words, s0d off and leave us alone for months like you have already had to. As you can imagine this has not impressed DH.... smiley-angry037.gif

  • Had a good day today. Met the usual family members (apart from my Mum who was too busy!) for coffee, playing at the park and shopping etc, but DH and MIL came too. MIL paid for her own at the cafe but then paid for DS1's trainers as well:j. I'd gone to the outlet shop to get them cheaper than the high street, but free was even better than the £16 I was going to pay :D. MIL also bought DH a jumper for £24 which was very kind of her.

I also got myself a bra for the bargain price of £2.50 :j:j:j. And I paid for it myself :D.

Tonight I've tackled the bombsite that is otherwise known as DS1's bedroom. You can now actually see the carpet again and get from one side of the room to the other without breaking your neck on something :rotfl:. I feel I have acomplished something of epic proportions!!

  • Not a great deal to report today, met a friend at the park and did a Mr T's shop. DH been in a good mood though so everything has flowed nicely.

I've got myself in a bit of a panic over money though, as I still haven't had a reply to my email asking if I will get any holiday pay etc owed from job 1, so not sure how far I need to make what we have got stretch. :(. I'm sure we will manage but I feel quite unsettled.

Just had a quick catchup on you diary. I am sorry things have been rubbish while I have been away. I will keep my fingers crossed that there is some very very good news heading your way, you deserve it.

I really do sympathise with you over your money worries. That unsettled feeling is awful. As you say you will probably muddle through. I see that Pooh recommended the website for feeding a family on £100 to you. Hopefully that will help a little.

Hope you hear something back soon re DH and that its positive news for you all.

    Take Care of yourself xx

I have 2 more of them for you :(.

However, tonight I've been voted my slimming class "Woman of the Year" smiley-gen002.gif. Super thrilled and honoured. I've also promised everyone I will drop a big weight loss this week so I have to do it now :o.

Today DH had a meeting with the head injury doc as it's been 8 weeks since he was put on trazadone. They are pleased with how he's reacted to it, but are concerned with the recent confused episodes he's had. They are sending him for an MRI incase it's epilepsy related, which is quite common after head injuries apparently. DH feels  about that though. We also told the doctor about the 'discussion' I'd had with MIL re when DH would be ready to retrain as a plumber or otherwise. He agreed with me that it's WAY to early yet. Infact, he even said that putting too much pressure like that on DH at the moment may slow or stop his recovery! So I was right (is it wrong to be smug here when I'd actually rather she'd been right so it'd mean DH was less ill??).

Hope everyone is well tonight Xx

well done on Woman of the Year vote th_smiley_flowers.gif

You should feel smug as it just shows you understand him better than anyone. We can all tell that you'd rather have him as a picture of health but are dealing with things in the way you should x
