  • I'm sniffly, headachey and got a sore throat but I'm not snotty. Haven't felt overly sickly today though, but I'm still tired. Bet you wish you hadn't asked now :rotfl:.

I should really be in bed but I'm enjoying the peace and quiet. I love DH and the boys to bits but I never get any time to myself, apart from when I'm at work which can't really be classed as alone or chill out time!

Not sorry I asked at all. So sorry you are feeling so rough.

I'm sure a lot of it is down to this awful weather we are having as we all seem to be suffering as though it was the middle of winter. I'm still coughing most of the night and my back aches because of it. I truly feel like the Granny I am at the moment and as you know I'm a bit young to be feeling like this.

I know what you mean about the family. I felt like that often when my 2 were still at home, especially with the poor relationship they had with OH. I often felt like just running away and I didn't have half the excuse you have. Just know that I'm with you to listen anytime you need it and the joy of it being on here is I haven't a clue who you are and therefore its like confessional at church. Plus I won't make you say hail marys :rotfl:

  • Thanks for your lovely messages ladies. Granny, please picture me as smiley-angelic001.gif in future!!

DH has slowly gotten better throughout the day. He had 9 hours uninterupted sleep last night which is unheard of for him (I managed 5 :() and although he has struggled more than usual to retain info today, it's got better as the day went on.

DS2 was sick again through the night last night and has been a bit wishy washy today, but not as bad as yesterday. DS1 has been to watch the Brazil vs New Zealand Olympic football match with a friend and his family today. They wouldn't take any money from me for any of it though so I'm very grateful that he has had such a fab day out for free.

Had a letter from LTSB today saying the special rate of 5.9% they agreed for 6 months will be ending on 18th Aug. smiley-sad056.gif I called them to see if they would extend it but they weren't forthcoming. Never mind, God loves a trier eh? Just got to come up with a dream plan to pay it off asap. Anyone have the winning lottery numbers??

Can you balance transfer it to somewhere else. Also I have a feeling that when you call these places they virtually automatically say no to extending low interest rates, but maybe if you wrote in they might reconsider?

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Hi hon, Just had a quick flick through and so sorry to hear of your ongoing battle. Caring for DH must be a massive test of your love and i applaud you completely for supporting and caring for him in the way that is so obvious from your posts.

Just a quick thing I thought of and my apologies if this is speaking out of turn, but in your first post you said that DH's previous employer terminated his employment. Now i have no ideas of the reasons why however if this was in anyway an unlawful process is there the option of seeking advice on a tribunal? Maybe consider the reasons given and if this could in anyway be a breach of any disability act, or constructive dismissal etc. As i said, may be an absolute non starter but just a suggestion. :) Will follow and lurk if that is ok and wishing you every single best for the future. :)

I'm not so sure I'd get anything elsewhere chev, but it's something to look into. I got a 22 month 0% BT with Barclaycard recently based on me and my wages (which I moved Santander to), but I don't know that anyone would give me another with my low wages. I assume DH wouldn't get a card elsewhere with being on the sick but I suppose you don't know unless you try.

LTSB were great after DH's accident and with the help of the branch manager we were given 0% for 6 months followed by 5.9% for another 6 months which helped imensely. I realise they don't owe us anything but I really hoped they'd continue their humanity. All good things though ...
