Merlin_and_Me wrote: »Hi hon, Just had a quick flick through and so sorry to hear of your ongoing battle. Caring for DH must be a massive test of your love and i applaud you completely for supporting and caring for him in the way that is so obvious from your posts.
Just a quick thing I thought of and my apologies if this is speaking out of turn, but in your first post you said that DH's previous employer terminated his employment. Now i have no ideas of the reasons why however if this was in anyway an unlawful process is there the option of seeking advice on a tribunal? Maybe consider the reasons given and if this could in anyway be a breach of any disability act, or constructive dismissal etc. As i said, may be an absolute non starter but just a suggestion. Will follow and lurk if that is ok and wishing you every single best for the future.
Hi Merlin and welcome to my mad world. Thank you for your lovely message of support.
The employer thing is a hard one as DH's boss was a friend before he was a boss, and it's only a tiny company with a work force of what was 5 with DH and is now 4. The company is struggling and 2 of the other workmates are DH's best friend and his 21 year old son who both rely heavily on their wages. We really didnt wan't to be the cause of everyone else losing their jobs not just DH. It was very upsetting at the time though XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Thanks MiT I hadn't thought of that. Will look in to it.
DH seems much better today so huge sigh of relief there. Unfortunately DS2 still isnt well. He woke up at 6.30am saying he was hungry but after one mouthful of cereal he pushed it away. About 15 mins later he asked for toast but again after a bite he didn't want it and curled up to me and went to sleep instead. After an hour or so he woke up and threw up everywhere again. Funnily enough though he has since managed to eat some malteasers!! He's now cuddling DH looking sleepy again.
DH has an appointment this afternoon with the work programme company the DWP referred him to. Apparently its an information giving session on what services they can provide, so we are leaving the boys with MIL and going to that. I attend all DH's appointments with him anyway to help prompt him recall and give information, but it seems necessary that I go today as he will be given an hours worth of info and probably wont be able to recount any of it when its done!
I forgot to mention yesterday with it being the 1st of the month, most of our bills left the account. These used to total around £318 and they now total £71.90 :j. I must say they aren't our only bills as some more leave the account at other times of the month like they always have, but I'm thrilled at the reductions we've made here. It's been by switching companies to reduce some bills, paying off others and paying some, like home insurance, for the year upfront.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Sorry Merlin I cross posted! I've been up since 6.30am and still havent been in the shower yet!! At the minute DS1 is in there, he's a real water baby and spends ages in the shower or bath every day. I'm sure that's not normal for an almost 8 year old boy though!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

plmbl Sorry I have missed quite a few days but have been catching up on your diary. I agree with others that you should try to think of yourself and getting a health check may be the answer.
Be careful you don't burn out. You are a :Asaint looking after your DH , the boys, working etc etc. Try if it is at all possible to get a little time to yourself. Bless you Poohbear, thank you. I shall get checked out I promise, though I admit I'm due that time of the month anytime from today and I've been waiting for that before I make an appointment incase it has anything to do with it. I googled thyroid problems as MiT suggested, and it said heavy or irregular periods and it got me thinking I might be asked questions like that by the doc, so it would be helpful to know what this month is like. No sign as yet though. Sorry if that's all too much to share
.
DH's appointment went ok yest, DH got worked up about it as usual despite me telling him lots of times it was nothing to worry about. He has continued to be wound up today though and has been more snappy than I'd like, especially with DS1.
Today we went into town to have the failed haircuts from last week. The 2 haircuts came to £16, parking £5  as we had to go in early before they closed the road for an Olympic football match, £18 in burger k1ngas all 4 of us had something and £4 for some bits in p0undland. The boys also spent some of their own money in town on toys they'd planned to buy.
Afterwards we went back to B plus Q - again!!! Needed spotlights for the bathroom and I couldn't get over the price per light! We'd gone thinking of buying 6 but left with just 4:rotfl:.
Tonight we made cakes and took some round to a neighbour who kindly gave the boys some spending money for their Edinburgh trip next week. DH's best friend then came round and helped eat a few more of them. He's coming back round in the morning to help DH put up a new ceiling and the spotlights in the bathroom.:j
DS2 is still not right. He hasn't been sick again but he's made up for it at the other end. Bless him. XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Didnt get a chance to post yesterday
. DH and his friend put a new ceiling up in the bathroom yesterday morning, complete with spotlights
. It still needs skimmed and painted but it definitely makes the room look more finished.
The boys were at a birthday party early afternoon and then I started job 2 at 4pm. I felt rotten when I got home thanks to Mother Nature so I had an early night (10pm).
Today we went to meet my Mum and Grandma etc as we missed our usual coffee yesterday due to the boys being at the party. We were caught in a major thunderstorm thoughand the drive home was quite scary.
Paid my sis another £5 so thats £890 I owe her. Feeling a bit down today though about all the debt we still have left to pay. I'm enjoying the holidays but it feels we are spending lots of money that could be put to the debts. In saying that though, most of our expenses have still been deals or reduced prices so I'm proud of that

We had the terrible thunder storms here too. It was terrible wasn't it? I understand the feeling down as we owe lots too and it does get to you sometimes but you have made great strides towards paying things off. Holidays are always a bit more expensive and it is a time for the odd treat. You should be giving yourself a pat on the back for all your savings
Sorry can't find all the fancy smileys.
I don't know which part of town you live but my sons have haircuts on Westgate road which were doing cheaper cuts for kids. Free parking too on the roadside or down side streets. DS2 and DS3 have decided to fly the nest and live in the big cityand
Just a thought, can you go to B plus Q with your grandma to get 10% discount on a Wednesday next time you need something?business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thats a brilliant thought re B plus Q poohbear, and one I wish I'd had earlier!! I will try to utilise that in future if I can build it in. The problem is that we live near the airport and Grandma lives in the east end of the city so the extra travel to collect her will probably cost more in diesel than we'd save! We normally only see her at weekends but thats not a hard and fast rule, especially in the holidays.
The boys haircuts could definitely be done cheaper but we've been going to the same salon for years and they are very good, particularly with DS2 who is a screamer when it comes to haircuts! We did try a barbers once for DS1 but they made a right mess of his hair and he ended up with some kind of 70's mullet! The parking usually costs less but we were limited due to the Olympic football. Might have to try westgate road though!
We are off to Edinburgh in a few days. Hotel and zoo already paid for but still need to spend on diesel, the Hard Rock cafe and other things while up there. It's all budgeted for but I hate seeing the numbers dwindle. I've been looking online tonight for discount coupons for the Hard Rock but havent found anything yet.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31.
