  • Hi New Leaf smiley-greet009.gif, yes I thought so too!!

One busy shift down tonight, one more tomorrow night then I'm in Tuesday and Sat only next week so not too bad. I'm home now and watching the Olympic Opening Ceremony. Is it just me or have they made half these countries up??!! smiley-confused005.gif Here was me thinking I was quite intelligent and worldly wise but I never knew places like 'Chad' existed!!:rotfl:

DH has been like a bear with a sore head again today after he got a letter from the DVLA saying he hadn't signed a consent form for them to email or fax his medical proffesionals so they still haven't even looked at his case. We filled in everything they sent us, so if he hasn't filled something in it's because we didn't have it. He went smiley-angry016.gif then smiley-angry021.gifthen smiley-angry019.gif before settling for smiley-angry031.gif for the rest of the day.

How irritating but hopefully it'll get sorted soon.

I thought that re the countries too, I'd heard of Chad, no idea where it is mind, geography never was my strong point but some of those countries, just where have they been hiding? :rotfl:

Thought it was a good show though x

I stuck it out because I wanted to see the bits after the athletes, which I have to say was boring and gladly the bits after were good. The kettles torch/cauldron was really impressive

Don't know that I'll watch any of the actual events mind you

Totally agree! I multi-tasked and read some diaries etc on here while the athletes were parading but I was glued from when Team GB arrived.smiley-flag013.gif Loved the torch/cauldron bit and the fireworks etc. Thought Queenie looked utterly bored and miserable (think it's about time she let Wills and Kate have a go!) and Macca was just awful!smiley-sad047.gif

I missed the James Bond bit smiley-char001.gif but I've you tubed it and I liked that too!!

  • Another day another dollar! Work was pretty dead tonight for a Saturday but it didn't drag so I'm thankful for that.

Met the usual family members for coffee today, minus my Mum who is still sunning herself in Menorca with her 'other' family. I ended up £9 up though after a series of 'keep the change' type affairs smiley-dance014.gif. Took the kids to the park afterwards as well to tire them out.

Need to take the shower screen back to B plus Q tomorrow as it is missing a rubber seal smiley-angry046.gif. One day this bathroom will be finished!!!!

Chad is indeed in Africa, a bit left of Sudan I think!

sorry to hear DVLA are being such pains about the licence. Love the exploding smiley though.

glad to hear that you are getting on with things, nice one.

Thank you!! I know where Sudan is so I'm possibly not a total twerp smiley-confused009.gif lol.

I've had a mixed bag of a day. DH has been getting wound up about the missing seal on the shower screen and went on and on about wanting to go to B plus Q so we put the screen etc in the car and got there not long after it opened. I parked up, he put DS2 in the trolley seat and, not even waiting for me or DS1, started striding off towards the entrance! I shouted after him something like 'Are we not taking this back then?', meaning the screen that was still in the boot, and he turned round and said 'Taking what back???'. Grrrrrr he'd gone on about it for hours and then forgot all about it when we got there!!

Anyway, we got it all sorted and then went to yet another park to let the kids run riot which was good fun. Afterwards we went to see MIL and while we were there DH said he fancied training as a plumber when he was ready to go back to work, which is something he has mentioned before and personally I think it's a good idea WHEN THE TIME COMES. MIL however, started looking up courses for him to start in September and I was seen as the bad guy for suggesting he isn't ready yet. This is the guy who has panic attacks, forgets things from one minute to the next, gets very depressed or angry at the drop of a hat, has withdrawn from meeting new people wherever possible, gets nervous and can't go places on his own. Don't get me wrong, I still love him to bits and he's much better than he was, but he just isn't ready to face the pressure of a course, having to concentrate for long periods of time and then retain the information. I'm not trying to keep him ill or stop him from moving on, I just don't want to set him, and us as a family, up for a fall. I think I got my point across in the end though.

Tonight I made a pan of veggie soup smiley-eatdrink061.gifas I feel the boys have eaten a load of rubbish recently. So now suddenly I feel like a better Mummy as they've had some decent goodness :rotfl:.
