I wasn't expecting to hear back from the DVLA but I received a letter from them saying I am allowed to drive again:j:j
Not sure when I wrote to them but I didn't need to send my licence to them so maybe that is why I have heard back so soon.

Sorry I have been away for a long time, busy with family things and no internet connection too.

I loved reading about your day on the beach. We used to go with all the children and their cousins. Lovely memories of free days out.

My DH suffers from depression and it has been a long haul. (20 years) It is great that you are being positive and counting your blessings. Once I accepted that DH wasn't a 'problem', just different life became easier.
I have to keep him busy as it seems to help, and I need to be the one who organises activities etc.

Hi Poohbear wave-smiley.gif?1292867696, lovely to have you back!!

So sorry to hear about your DH and well done you for making it through 20 years number1-smiley.gif?1292867647. What a superstar!! I wouldn't call my DH depressed but he definitely has 'depressive episodes' so I know it's not fun. Mind you, he also has angry episodes and forgetful episodes and panicky episodes and sleepless episodes and, well you get the picture. One of the hardest things is not knowing which DH I have to deal with each day.

How long were you without your driving licence? We advised DVLA of DH's accident when it happened last year and they revoked it for a year no questions asked. They do this as standard with head injuries incase this causes fits. He was allowed to reapply for the licence 8 weeks before the year was up, which we did but it's now been 15 weeks since then and they haven't even looked at the paperwork we filled in yet brod-kavelarg-smiley.gif?1292867561. It may still be that he can't have his licence back, but it would be nice to know one way or the other Xx

I'm hoping that this is my forever home, (unless I win the lottery of course) :rotfl:

However, if OH continues to drive me insane, it may well not be my forever home. :D

It is a nice house, in a nice area, new build in 2001 and large enough for me and OH with room for DGDs to stay as and when.

So, at the moment, the way things stand, I can't see me moving anywhere, well not in this country anyway and as such it doesn't really matter that it's in zero equity. I just need to ensure that I have paid off all our debts, secured and unsecured, before I retire, which I'm hoping to do in 10/12 years, if not before - again with the lottery win!!!!!

My pension will be so low I will need it for spends, so really need to be debt free by the time I collect it. Don't want to be like some of my friends, who have had to return to work after retiring due to lack of funds.

Hope you are having a good day today. Speak later.

    Granny x

    Hey Granny hello-smiley.gif?1292867615.

I know what you mean about the pension thing, but I have every faith in your creative genius in paying all the debts before then! Sprinkling lucky dust your way for the lottery win multi-stars-smiley.gif?1292867640.

We bought our house as it was the only one up for sale in the area DH wanted to be. It's not a bad house but its a funny shape and DS2's room isn't big enough to swing a cat in cat-smiley.gif?1292867565.

I really hope so granny! It's hard enough dealing with DH waiting for the letter, I dread to think what it will be like if he gets a no smiley-scared003.gif.

Today we met a friend and her 2 boys at a park for some more free fun in the smiley-happy005.gif. It was lovely to catch up with her as I haven't seen her for ages, but I did think I sounded like a right moaner recounting what has happened since we last met a few months ago! She's one of my oldest friends though and she knows the score. She whinged just as much as I did lol.

glad you had a good day with your friend and just remember that's what good friends are for, if we couldn't moan to them we'd go insane. As for the DVLA, worry about it when it happens as you can't do anything about it until you know what they are going to say.

    Little cutie post for you

Aw bless! Bet you didn't think he was so cute after he gave you the slip today though!! smiley-scared002.gif Naughty ds2!

Well we've had a NSD in terms of activities during the summer holidays, but still spent money as we have been to Mr T's and B and Q. Another £30 added to the bathroom total for stuff I hadn't thought of like new light and shower switches etc. Current total is £1259. Shouldn't be much more now though.

Apart from the shopping we've tidied the back garden and took a trip to the tip. I've also had my sister over for tea and she came armed with gifts!! They are all things she doesn't need or want but I'm still overwhelmed with her generosity smiley-shocked034.gif. Get this, she brought a laptop, a desk top computer and a DS lite!!!
