Woman of the Year is pretty impressive. Well done!

I second granny - feel smug and enjoy it! I thought it strange that your MIL only paid for her and OH anyway. Very rude and not particularly sensitive. I don't think she'll be Woman of the Year anytime soon!

  • Thank you ladies that made me laugh smiley-laughing013.gif.

Today I braved taking back the excess tiles from the bathroom! I say braved as we were told we only had 30 days to return them and it's been more like 60 days smiley-ashamed002.gif. Anyway, although it was commented on that they wouldn't normally, they did take them back and returned £65 to me smiley-happy080.gif. The bathroom is now almost finished except for flooring, and a window blind (the 2nd blind was too big and had to be returned also :().

However, the excitement of getting money back was short lived when we then forked out for a NUFC strip for DS1. He's never had one before and looks like the poor relation amongst his friends at football club bless him in his plain white tshirt and shorts. I'm very lucky in that I never normally have to buy any clothes for him as he has a cousin 2 years older than him and we get all the hand me downs, so I felt guilty about the strip and found myself agreeing he could have one without knowing how much they cost. £75!!!!!! I nearly died smiley-shocked033.gif. On the positive though, I ended the day £10 down not £75 down which could have happened if they hadn't taken the tiles back. And I have one VERY happy DS1. Still feel guilty for spending all that money for nothing though, and I still haven't had a reply to my email asking about holiday pay for job 1 .

Sis came for tea tonight and it was lovely to see her. We've signed her up for Sunb1ngo with my referral which gets me £10, but I'm giving it straight back to her to make up for the deposit she had to make, and anything she wins we will halve between us. Fingers crossed there!

I've also been very good diet-wise today smiley-angelic004.gif.

Hi PLMBL, I've been reading through your diary on and off all day and I can't believe how strong you've been, its had me in tears at times.

Well done for Woman of the Year and it really couldn't have gone to a more deserving person as you're amazing.

£75 for a football strip  thats dreadful, how can they charge that much!

BTW Glad to see someone else watches Geordie Shore, everyone I know denies it. I started watching it when I moved oop North in order to acclimatise myself to the new culture  now I'm hooked :o.

Hope you're bathrooms looking good, mine was unfashionable when it was installed in the 80's and is now even grimmer.

  • Aw BC that's so nice of you to say :o. I'm sorry I made you cry smiley-hug005.gif.

I LOVE Geardie Shore :D. One of the girls, (not naming any names but her name begins with V), is my cousin's cousin on the otherside of her family (if you can follow that!!) so I started watching it because of her, but them got totally hooked. I'm gutted the new series has ended :(.

Our bathroom was similar to yours before we started and is now beautifully pristine and white. Not sure how long it will stay that was with 2 mud magnets in the house though .

And I'm still in shock over the price of the strip. It's shameful really when you think how much the sponsors have paid to put their logos on as well, and the material is quite flimsy too. I think I will stop feeding DS1 to stunt his growth so it fits for longer :rotfl:.

Thanks Granny :A.Just to clarify, by 'for nothing' I meant not a birthday/xmas/brilliant school report etc but as you say, everyone needs a little treat now and then.

Following on from my confession that I love carp tv, I'm currently watching the 'celebrities' entering the big brother house while I'm on here. There are some pretty girls on there but DH has just announced he'd 'climb over them to get to me'. That bump on the head must have been even worse than we all thought :rotfl:.

  • Evening all smiley-greet009.gif.

Day 2 of the 'sticking to the diet' has gone well. Not only have I had NOTHING naughty to eat for 2 days, but I've been to Zumba this morning smiley-dance007.gif. And it was paid for by someone else :j. My neighbour has been going to a class which is under threat of being cancelled due to lack of attendants, so she called round to ask if I'd like to go with her to boost the numbers and she wanted to pay for it for me. Bless her, I really enjoyed it.

This afternoon we took the boys to the park - again! It was at their request though and who am I to say they can't do something they enjoy when its free?! It was lovely and sunny and I almost believed it was summer :rotfl:.

A form arrived in the post today from ESA, after I called to let them know at the beginning of the week that I no longer had job 1. I can't believe it but instead of just noting down that very simple piece of info, they want DH (me!) to fill in a 47 page booklet reconfirming every single detail there ever was about his claim. What a bl00dy waste of time and money..

On the subject of job 1 though, I've heard rumblings on the grapevine about a new playgroup opening up in place of the old one. Alledgedly I'm getting a letter about it so will wait with baited breath.

And then I will have to fill in another damned 47 page form to tell them about a new job!!!!
