When I asked for luck I didn't mean the bad variety!!!

  • Lindens I always make my bhajis that way, chick pea dahl, onions, eggs and powdered smash. Luvley jubbly! I did try the chick pea loaf - dahl, eggs and cooked curry flavoured batcherlors savory rice. It was ok but not as nice as the bhajis. I found it went cruncy on the top but stayed quite wet underneath. Making it in muffin tins would solve that problem though.

DH has lost another 2lbs . This is not good news as he doesn't need to lose any more and this is despite him having 'naughty' things to eat this week. All the running he does on the treadmill is just melting the calories away. Hopefully I will have another good loss to report later as well.

I've won a family ticket to a local wetland (birds/wildlife) centre. We've been once before (I won a ticket then too!!) and the boys enjoyed it as they have a good play area as well as all the animal bit. Must admit it was summer then so will probably be a different experience this time but we are still looking forward to going. Ticket is only valid until March so can't keep it until sunnier climes, and we will make use of it over the next few weeks. DH can't remember going (it was after his accident) so it will be a new experience again for him.

  • Thanks all, it's just disheartening when I've stuck to the diet and exercise all week but it doesn't show on the scales.
Went to gym this morning and ran on the treadmill . That is epic for me, I normally just do a fast walk on an incline so actual running is a huge step. The music video of Jessica Simpson in her daisy dukes that was playing in the gym spurred me on. One day I'll look like that :rotfl:.

Well done on all you are managing at the moment, can't believe you are fitting DIY in. Those onion bahjis sound amazing!
  • My SW consultant used to say when you start a new exercise routine your body holds on to any fat stores to protect the body from injury and I know you stopped going to the gym for a while and have only just started. Do you think this might be the reason? DH can lose weight with the click of a finger, but I am like you and it takes much longer. Men and women really are different in their make up so don't be too disheartened (or jealous ;) ) that he is losing and you're not.

Oh I already look like Jessica Simpson -well after a few bottles of wine I think we all think we look like that hahaha. Seriously though, she probably has dieticians to hand, personal trainers and a much easier life. Stress is a huge problem in trying to lose weight for me!

Hope you're having a good day :) oh and I saw the JL advert finally when I watched the x factor back and I LOVE that song on it :) it's a beautiful song, weren't too fussed by the actual advert though :p

  • I must just be a soppy g1t for crying at the JL advert then! I think it's so sweet that it's about wanting to share the experience with someone and make it about their enjoyment. That's how I see Christmas.

Talking of Christmas I did some shopping today. Smyth's toys have a deal on whereby if you take an old skylanders portal in you get £10 off the new range of figures. My boys are lucky enough to have all 3 types of skylanders games, and each came with a portal so we had 2 sat in a cupboard not being used. I didn't tempt fate and only took one in so we still have a spare just incase, but it meant I got an £11.99 figure for £1.99 to put away for Santa. I got a couple of other bits too.

£25 landed in my account today as payment for DS2's photo being in the magazine :T
