I have spent so much in Costas in the RVI while waiting for doctors/midwives to finish with DD and baby that it has made quite a dent in my financial plans for this month. I don't begrudge it as I wanted to see them but begrudge the fact that Costas got it. Yesterday we took water and bananas with us and were better prepared. I wasn't just paying for me it was DH and 3 x DSs!!.

I know what you mean, DH spent his first 5 weeks after the accident in the RVI before he was transferred to the head injury rehab and I dread to think how much I spent in there .

I am another multiple miscarriage person so do understand how you feel. I felt a bit bad yesterday when granny said your babe would have been due around now and I am chattering on about my new DGD. It was my MIL who made ridiculous comments at the time. I really feel that someone who hasn't experienced it has no idea whatsoever.

Please don't feel bad Poohbear, I took no offence at all and I love hearing about babies, they are such blessings. I hope you have managed plenty more snuggles Xx

Thank you PLMBL, I do try and always think these things have made me the person I am today and I quite like me. That's the only way I can see to explain all this carp and I certainly wouldn't wish these things on my worst enemy and believe you me, there is more I could reveal and probably will for some who stay for my full 10yr+ journey :)

I'm sure I'll still be around then :rotfl:. I totally agree re experiences making you who you are and you have every right to like who you are because of them. I quite like me too!!:D.

Just me and OH - much as he loves DGD, he finds it difficult to put up with me for any length of time and certainly wouldn't cope with going away with DS and DDIL2B :rotfl: He's a very strange man :rotfl:

Sadly not seeing my baby because she's in Oz but she's got a wonderful day planned and we've got a skype date on Thursday.

    That cake looks yummy

  • Granny I think you left your germs behind!! I now look like this character-emoticon-0027.gif.

Went to work this morning a bit snffly and thinking I might have hayfever, and am now fully loaded with cold :(. Hoping to be better tomorrow or they won't want me at job 2. Who wants a snotty woman making them a pizza??!!

Purchased more things for the bathroom today and yesterday. Can't believe the price of tiles . We have now spent £986 of our £1k budget and we don't yet have a shower screen or shower!! Think the budget will need increased unless anyone knows where I can get them for £14?? :rotfl:.

Also got my car insurance renewal quote today and its £120 more than last year!! Will obviously need to shop around to have this reduced, but not sure how DH's accident will impact on this. Although he didn't have a car accident, his licence was revoked for 12 months for medical reasons, which they do to everyone who has had a head injury incase of fits. He applied to get it back 8 weeks ago and we still havent heard anything from the DVLA. Will chase that tomorrow I think.

Paid my sister the £5 I saved from getting fat class free on tues, so I now owe her £955.

Oh carp, you are now the 3rd person I spoke to over the weekend to say they are now unwell. I'm afraid I did sneeze over you all more than once over the last couple of days. All I can say is copious amounts of chilli and garlic seemed to kick it into touch for me, still not 100% mind you.

I rang my car insurance to tell them I was leaving because the quote had gone up so much and they dropped it down to lower than previous year. If OH isn't driving on it, then his accident shouldn't affect it. However, it clearly will if he's a named driver on the policy, so you will have to weigh up the cost of him on there against stress of removing him. Not an easy decision I'm sure. Good luck with DVLA application.

Sorry don't know anywhere that sells these items for £14 - a couple of buckets from pound shop maybe :rotfl:

  • Just a quick update before I have to get ready for job 2. I'm still poorly sick with cold and I rang my boss to see if she wanted me to go in or not. She said normally no, but on this occasion yes as there are only 3 people on tonight . We are normally rushed off our feet with 5 of us on a friday night so lets just say I'm not relishing the idea of going in poorly and doing the work of 3 people! I'm in tomorrow night too :(.

    So far today I have:-
Been to job 1. (The kids weren't in today as we had an open morning for prospective new children).
    Cleaned the kitchen.
    Sorted paperwork.
Tried to call the DVLA to chase DH's application but they aren't open due to industrial action!!:(
Submitted electricity reading to new supplier. They don't want the gas one yet!
Tried to do a few surveys but was screened out of all of them .

Meanwhile DH has ripped all the tiles off in the bathroom. There's no turning back now!!

Right off to get ready and try not to snot over customers or their food!! Will check back in later and catch up on everyone's diaries when I get home from work Xx

  • Didn't get a chance to come on here last night as I came home to a house full of people and the kids were still up .

DH & his best friend had ripped out old bathroom suite in my absence and have only fitted new toilet as the walls were so bad they need replastered before new bath can go in. This will happen today but meanwhile I hate not being able to get showered, particularly after being at job 2 last night & I probably stink of pizza!! Will wash my hair in the kitchen sink as I have shocking hat hair too  :rotfl:.

So the friend and his girlfriend were here & then his daughter, her DP and baby were here too when I got home from work. This was profitable though as they had come to buy my spare high chair so I'm £20 up :D. By the time they all left I was shattered - and broody :rotfl:.

  • Thanks badger! I'm not quite 100% but much better than the last couple of days, at least now I don't choke & half kill myself every time I have a drink because I can't breathe at the same time :rotfl:.

Just got off the phone to DVLA. They did receive the paperwork back in April but they are so far behind no decisions have been made on DH yet. They said we should hear something by end of next week or beginning of the week after which is something I suppose.

  • Another shift at job 2 done and dusted. :j

I now have plastered bathroom walls and a bath where it should be but its not plumbed in yet :(. I'm super grateful to DH and his best friend for putting the new bathroom in and saving us all that money, but I'd love a shower right now!

I'm going out with friends to ladies day at the races tomorrow which has been booked since last year. I'm sort of looking forward to it as I can't remember the last time I was just me, not Mum, Wife or a job role, but it also feels wrong to be going out all day without my family and spending money on just me. If I was going to spend money I still need a new bra and trainers!!
(I've arranged to have a shower at MIL's in the morning otherwise they won't let me in the enclosure, more likely the stables and muckheap :o).

Sorry that you have been ill, I hope that you get over it quickly. I too have been poorly sick, so I guess it is going around whether it is summer or winter at the moment.
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
