  • So it almost got to the point of taking DH to the hospital when he started to come round late afternoon. He makes sense now and is retaining info (ie he knows what day it is now!) but he has completely lost a few weeks. For example he doesn't remember fitting the bathroom, DS2 falling down the stairs or even him being on crutches recently. I'm going to take him to the docs tomorrow to get his blood pressure etc checked and also to see if they think he needs an mri or something. I'm a bit worried he may have had another bleed on the brain :(.

Apart from that not a lot has happened today. No further forward on the bathroom as when DH's friend eventually appeared we all just chatted in an attempt to pull DH round. DS1's friend came knocking so they played footie in the garden for a few hours which pleased him greatly.

I'm so sorry, I posted you a long message this afternoon after reading your 10.56 post and it appears to have got lost in the ether as it were . I would hate you to think that I had read and run after all that you were trying to cope with today.

The doctor sounds a good idea, I hope that you manage to get an appointment if only for your peace of mind. It sounds to me that the bathroom can wait and that the lovely friends that you are so lucky to have are best off trying to help you and your DH rather than fitting tiles. I'm sure they can wait another few days.

Without burbling on, you have had a tough day but Im sure you have coped remarkably well, I will check in tomorrow and see how you are all doing.

Take Care, try and have a restful night

    Pinot xx

  • Thanks PG :A.

I will scream and shout and stamp my feet until I get him an appointment tomorrow :). Mind you, it depends on how he is as well, as I will take him straight to hospital if he's as bad as he was today. Slightly complicated by the fact that I'm at work in the morning, so hoping he is better and I can get him an afternoon appointment at the docs so everything can run smoothly as planned.

Pffffft who am I kidding?? Since when does anything go smoothly for me?!

Hello honey, just checking in to see how your day went after all. Glad to hear he is feeling slightly better and definitely think screaming, shouting and stamping your feet until he gets an appointment is the right way to go. Will probably do your frustration good too. It must be so hard for you both to cope with, you to see it happening and him to wonder what on earth is going on.

Hope he feels better in the morning.

    Lots of love Granny x

  • I'm glad you dh is finally coming around and I hope the dr's give you some peace of mind. It must be so scary to just 'lose' a week...you're right there isn't really anyway he should be left on his own. I can't believe the DLA give money away to people who don't really need it and then people like yourselves clearly do need some extra help and are turned down!

I hope you are feeling better now, nothing worse than having to carry on regardless of how you feel (((big hugs))) xxx

Just checking in to see how things are this morning. I knwo you are at work, but hopefully you will time for a quick post at some point today.

Keeping my fingers crossed that DH is seeming much better today but that you managed to jump up and down enough to get him an appointment for this afternoon.

    Sending lots of hugs

  • Thank you ladies Xx

He seems better today but has no recollection of yesterday until about 9pm. He knows what day it is today etc but the last few weeks are still very hazy for him. We have an appointment at 4.30pm today so fingers crossed we at least get peace of mind from that, if not a plan of action.

I still feel sickly. Starting to feel a bit  about that!!!!!!!

  • DH's doctor's appointment was reassuring but we aren't much further forward. His blood pressure and pulse are normal and no signs of pressure behind his eyes, so Dr doesn't think it's been another bleed. It's a bit of 'wait and see' how he is over the next few days and go to hospital if it happens again. He told us to book a blood test with the receptionist on the way out to check DH's sodium levels, but the next available appointment is a week on wed .

Got a stinking headache tonight as it's been Beavers night, and our newbies are a handful to say the least. On the plus side though the headache distracts from the nausea :rotfl:.

Off work again tomorrow :j. Got to get weighed though _pale_.
