  • Well today has been ok, but job 1 this morning was filled with tension and ended with another one of my colleagues quiting :(. What's worse is that she's my best friend too so double blow. I also know a 3rd colleague is waiting to hear if she has got a new job and should know by tomorrow, so it might be game over soon. We can't run a playgroup with 2 members of staff .

Otherwise I feel a bit better today but really tired. DH has been getting quite wound up so I feel normality has been restored :rotfl:.After work today DS2 had little kickers football for an hour and then I visited another Beavers class tonight. I really should get on with writing reports for the playgroup children now, but the temptation to have an early night is getting stronger. Must stay focused .....

  • Well I've done 90 mins work on the playgroup files tonight and I think that's enough for one evening, particularly as I don't even get paid for it!! Amazing really that I get more per hour for making pizza for Mr A than I do for looking after other people's children, and then I'm expected to do loads of unpaid stuff at home for playgroup as well .

Wondering if I can keep my eyes open for another chapter of 50 shades of smut :o????

Glad you are both feeling better today x

I started reading it last night, not sure what all the hype is about yet but will continue with it as I'm intrigued.

Fingers crossed for the job situation, just what you don't need at the moment x

PS I think those 5lbs you found may have been mine, I nearly fell off the scales in shock this morning, were they old and grey and wrinkly? :rotfl: I knew my clothes were looser but last time I weighed I hadn't lost so much as a gram and this morning I find I'd lost 5 whole lbs :j:T:j

That's astonishing that a pizza is valued more than a child  I'm not surprised though, that seems to be the way of things.

  • Well done on losing 5lbs Granny :j:j and hope you have reached the interesting part of the book by now :o:p.

The atmosphere at job 1 was no better today :( and job 2 was long and boring which is unusal for a Friday night, so I feel today has lasted about a week!!

I got home around 9pm and both boys were still up because DH and his Best Friend (want to write BF here but worried you will all assume I mean boyfriend :rotfl:) were tiling in the bathroom and making a racket with the tile cutter. They eventually stopped at 10.30pm which is VERY late for a 2 year old and a 7 year old to be going to bed. Dare I hope for a lie in in the morning now though?? Anyway, bathroom still nowhere near finished but a heck of a lot closer to it that it was when I left for work this afternoon.:j

So I've just had my tea, completed a survey or two and I'm currently catching up on diaries to make me feel like I've actually had an evening! It sounds like the windows are going to come in with the rain here though!

Oh and I finally got round to ringing tax credits with my end of year review figures. Our taxable income as a couple last year was £7.5k!!!!! Whilst that doesn't include what he recieved in benefits as they don't count that, it's no wonder I'm on a debt free forum!! It proves what I knew already and that is that I couldn't have done it without all you guys :A.

Totally agree with you there Piq, its ridiculous isnt it ! I have a few friends working in playgroups and are always complaining amount the amount of unpaid work done at home, reports etc, although I must say in my ex line of work which wasnt working with children, that was much the same, or I would sit on the train juggling piles of files etc to try and keep on top of things. Never did receive a thankyou or even 50p for god know how many years work. Maybe its a way of life these days in various jobs x

Im glad you managed a few reports though Lucky, maybe you can motivate yourself to do a few more over the weekend !!

My DD2's primary school report last year was so clearly Cut and Pasted , it became laughable, particularly with the closing comment of "Emily" is a credit to the school blah blah blah . My daughter isnt called Emily !!! xx

Cant believe the 50 Shades topic has cropped up on here also, even the nurses in hospital yesterday were talking about it whilst carrying out the op ! ! :rotfl:

Thank you, the healthy eating plan must have finally kicked in. Let's hope it doesn't yoyo back on. Only another 45 to go. I got to chapter 7 last night, looking a bit more interesting :rotfl:

I totally understand that feeling. Sometimes things are so difficult in work we wish for boring but then when it happens the time drags. I had a long but quite good day in work yesterday but even so am glad I don't have to work until Tuesday. Dreamt of outstanding complex cases last night
I got home around 9pm and both boys were still up because DH and his Best Friend (want to write BF here but worried you will all assume I mean boyfriend )

:rotfl: no harm in having a BF but we'd never think that of you or otherwise your name would be "I am Lucky", although maybe not, twice the stress then :rotfl:

men eh, they don't really think about those sorts of practicalities do they. I hope you got a lie in anyway x

I did pretty much the same. I did one survey that started off asking me about my political views, digressed into what was my 1st car, (30 years ago!) and then back to politics. I cannot for the life of me work that one out. Was screened out of a lot but have £18 in one now so only 2/3 more to go and I'll be able to cash it in. I hate surveys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
