Wow, what a diary. I applaud your strength and your dedication to your family - all while keeping a sense of humour about it all. This should be an inspiration to all DFWs.
Your DH and DSs are very lucky to have you.0 -
Thank you chev, hope you get well soon too. I'm less snotty again today but still have a sore throat & dry tickly cough. However going somewhere where you are expected to drink all day long, this shouldn't be a problem
. (Will be mainly sticking to soft drinks though! I hardly ever drink anymore so drinking all day on a 'school night' would be messy & far too expensive!!
:hello: ragstobasics. What a lovely thing to say!! As for the strength bit I think you just do what you have to do. My favourite saying is "If we all got together & threw our problems up in the air, we'd be happy to catch our own". This has got me through a lot, knowing no matter how bad things get, there are always those worse than me XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Yesterday was good and bad.
Good points
1) Had fab time with friends and laughed all day long.
2) Didn't spend as much as I could have. :j
3) I didn't drink too much, get drunk (or have a hangover today).
Bad points.
1) DH was in a  mood from the minute he woke up and I wasn't keen on going out and leaving him and the kids. I'd already arranged for my MIL to be on hand though so she looked after the kids all day and DH stayed at home with his friend to finish the bathroom.
2) I spent £29.50. This includes an overall loss on the betting of £7.50, a taxi fare of £3.50 and £5 remaining balance for actually going.
3) I got travel sick and threw up on the coach:eek:. I swear it wasn't drink related as I'd only had a bit of wine all day but I felt so embarrased and was sure everyone thought I was just a plonky who couldn't take her drink. It was so hot and claustrophobic on the coach and the driver obviously thought a bus should be driven on 2 wheels and was making it his mission to prove it could be done.
4) Didn't get home until 8.30pm from 10.30am so missed the whole day with the family.:(
5) Bathroom still didn't get finished. But we do now have a working bath!
Today has been fine. Been to job 1, DH has done some more work in the bathroom, we took the old bathroom to the tip so the garden looks nice again :rotfl:, been to Mr T's, ran Beavers and caught up on emails etc. Time to chill now, hope everyone has had a happy monday XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Hi dfw321 :hello:
Yes my last post looks a bit miserable dosen't it??!! I did have a good time and good point 1 should probably be in capitals or something as I thoroughly enjoyed being 'one of the girls'. But the MSE and Mum/wife in me is in no rush to do it again.
Hope you enjoyed your wine and chocolate :EasterBunDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

It's been my day off from job 1 today and we've been to softplay with DS2, docs for DH and to get more fixings etc for the new bathroom. Bathroom total now stands at £1063 . Hoping we will be able to take back some tiles when it's all done though as they have overestimated how many we will need. They take back single tiles so no matter what we have left they can go back and recoup some of the cost.
Just had a phone call asking me to go in to job 2 for a few hours tonight as one of the girls has fallen and broken her arm. Bang goes my day off but at least it will be another £20 or so in my bank next pay day. I normally get weighed on a tuesday night but as I haven't been very good I don't mind missing that.

Well you've got a great excuse for not getting weighed in my opinion
......and I can NOT believe the price of tiles  ! I can hope you can re-coup enough to perhaps bring you closer to the budget you set so it's only a little over and not wildly so lol ! xx

Thanks dfw321. We only have a small bathroom & it's cost £438 for tiles & adhesive etc. That's buying cheap tiles!! Some tiles were £5.97 each!! We did get more expensive border tiles but the others are just large white tiles.
We got the shower the other day but still need a screen & a window blind. Still, even with the overspend we will be nowhere near the £4.5k quote we were given by a plumber to do it.

Really tired tonight. Turns out its hard to finish an evening job, get home, have tea, wind down (while watching Geordie Shore admitedly
), go to sleep and then get up early the next morning for the day job!! I'm shattered.
This afternoon we had to return the bathroom sink as the pedestal wasn't level. New one now in place
.
Tea was then a disaster. Made a beef 'sunday' dinner with veg, potatoes and yorkshire puddings etc, but when I went to carve the beef it was still raw inside despite the normal amount of cooking time!! Everything else was ready and the kids were starving so I had to serve it up without the meat. (I'm vegetarian so thats normal for me but I like the kids to have a more balanced diet than I do).
DH has gone out with his best friend to help him do some jobs tonight. I'm so tempted to go to bed early but I'm also quite enjoying the peace and quiet!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

DH's best friend was paid for the jobs he did last night so he halved it with DH. £110 :j:j:j This will help towards the bathroom going over budget
. Thrilled!
We took the children from playgroup (job 1) to visit their new nursery today, which they will move up to in September. They trashed the place!! Good luck to the nursery teachers!! It was good fun though.
We've had major storms here from about 4.30pm. Think we have escaped unscathed but lots of others in Newcastle havent. Lots of road closures, shops, schools and houses flooded, metro trains not running, a house on fire after lightening struck the solar pannels, cars stuck in water up to the windows etc. What a nightmare! It's supposed to be summer . DS1 is supposed to be on a school trip tomorrow to a local country park to do a bug hunt. Seriously hope its cancelled otherwise we will be doing hunts for them instead - in the mud!
Ooh and the meercat has arrived :j. It's one we dont have so DS2 is thrilled. We now have 4 out of the 6 (all but this one was donated to him). I know we could make money out of them on ebay but he loves them so much I don't have the heart to do so. I've left the tags on though and kept all boxes/certificates etc just incase.
