Had a nice day so far. DH was chuffed with his photography course gift the boys gave him for Father's day. We then gave him the choice of what to do today and he picked softplay :rotfl:. He had a great time with the boys despite his gammy leg (which is getting better thank goodness due to a combination of deep heat and frozen peas
).
We then went to mr T's so the boys could spend some of their savings on new skylanders which they HAD to have and I managed to spend £20 on rubbish while we were in there. Well, not all rubbish, got my fabric softner on offer at 2 for £5, some bananas, carrots and toilet rolls, but the rest was stuff like crisps, popcorn and pop
. Called in to see MIL afterwards and watched the 'kicking spectacle' on the tennis with her  and we've now been home for an hour or so with the boys playing their skylanders game. Tea is in the oven and hopefully I'm in for a chilled out night (apart from the ironing). Hope everyone has had a good day Xx

Thank you for your lovely message on my diary
I have been having a quiet moment and read through some of your diary. Sorry I haven't finished but in case I am disturbed before I finish I wasnted to make sure you knew I am so very impressed by how well you are doing and how postive you are. You are an inspiration
I have dentist this morning then off to the hospital to see DD and babybusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi poohbear :hello: Hope you had lots of lovely snuggles with your new granddaughter! And that the dentist wasn't too bad
!
The sun has been shining here today so after work this morning we went to pay DH's birthday cheques in at the bank and then went on to the park with DS2 which was lovely.
I also sold the skylander I won to a friend for £5 today, as DS1 has that one. We bought him another to replace it weeks ago and I'm not desperate for the money right now, so I'm just going to pay it off the LTSB credit card.
Early tea tonight as DS1 and I are off to Beavers soon. We had a bit of a recruitment drive last week as numbers are dwindling and I have 5 new starters tonight. Don't know whether I feel :j or  about that as 5 at once is rather a lot!!
Will no doubt be back later to catch up XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

We actually ended up with 7 new starters at Beavers!! It was a bit manic but we got there!
And I found £1 on the way home so that can go off the credit card too.
I still haven't booked anything for a day or 2 away in the summer holidays. I can't quite bring myself to part with the moneyand keep hoping to find something cheaper. Think I will have a good search around tonight online and bite the bullet ... if I can tear myself away from MSE!!

It seemed unbearable at the time but now its just sad. I'm a firm believer of that saying too, well why otherwise would we have to deal with such awful stuff.please-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »My Mum did something similar when I had the miscarriage in September. For all my situation was far far less traumatic than yours (I hadn't planned or been trying to get pregnant, hadn't known I was pregnant until I was taken into hospital) it was still a big shock and an emotional time. There I was, on my birthday, in hospital having been told I was pregnant, possibly ectopic & needing an operation to remove it, possibly miscarrying, possibly a normal pregnancy but removing the coil would probably cause miscarriage anyway and my head was all over the place. When it was determined that it was a mc caused by the coil the best my Mum could offer was "well you couldn't have coped anyway". I was furious, if there's one thing I CAN do is cope!! My life is my children and more at any time in any circumstances would be welcome (even if I can see that having I newborn now would make working my 2 jobs slightly difficult!!).
All we can do is learn from their mistakes like you said Xx
A miscarriage is awful, regardless of whether you planned the baby or not and still makes you upset even if you later realise it "happened for a reason". Though as you said about my babies, what on earth that reason can be we will never fathom.
I had a couple too and each one seemed more traumatic than the previous one. I had cervical cancer shortly after meeting my current OH and that meant we couldn't have children together. Thankfully, it also meant no more traumatic miscarriages - a strange way of looking at it I know but it helped me get over that pain.
I'm sure your mum was trying to help but it's a pretty awful thing to say, when all you really want is someone to make the pain go away. I know its around now that your little one would have been due and that must be hard but believe me when I say it does get easier, even if you never forget.
I'd like to say that maybe it's a generational thing but as I suspect I'm closer to your mum's age than yours, it really can't be. I think its more a case of, "It takes all sorts to make a world"
On a happier note, I'm glad you had a good day yesterday and LOL the excitement re finding a £1.
We are cutting back on our summer hols this year, going to a cottage in Northumbria, instead of our 2 weeks in foreign climes. I totally get your feeling re reluctance to spend. I had a mini melt down after spending an unnecessary 97p the other day :rotfl:
Anyway, have a good day tomorrow. Chat soon. BFN Gx2 xTargets

helloooo there, haven't popped in for ages.
with regards to your summer holidays, I have booked 2 nights on a campsite about 40 minutes down the road for our 'summer holidays'. We decided that it was the experience of being on the holiday that DS and DD wanted rather than anything else so rather than schlepping off down to dorset as usual and spending £100 in petrol before we even get started we would just do this.
DS has also been to beavers tonight and was absolutely hyper when he got home (he absolutely loves it, you all do such a fabulous job with them all!!) We are now counting down the 5 sleeps until beaver camp :j

Good grief Granny you really have been through the mill
. Massive respect to you for coming through all of that and still being the positive person you are. You deserve some fantastic luck from here on in :A.
Where abouts in Northumberland are you holidaying? If I can help with any hints, tips or ideas just let me know.
Talking of holidays, I've booked a night in Edinburgh in August! Hardly a holiday, but a little break all the same. I've booked the zoo also and plan to make a reservation in the Hard Rock Cafe. Something to look forward to!
I've read on your diary that you are keeping your age a secret, but if my maths are right you are more in the middle of mine and my Mum's ages!! I'm 33 and Mum is 56 XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Yoohoo Splodge :hello:. Sorry, think I cross posted with you!
Fab idea re the summer holiday. We haven't been abroad since DS1 was 2 or 3, but we have been holidaying in Cornwall which isn't exactly round the corner from us so I know what you mean about the diesel costs before you even start with the actual holiday costs. I'm sure your kids will enjoy it just as much Xx

Wow, 7 starters is a lot for one session. We used to run Beavers years ago and remember how lively they all were.
A stay in Edinburgh seems like a good idea. We did that a few years ago when the hotel next to the zoo had a special offer.
This year we had a weekend away near Dumfries in March. It coincided with the hot spell so it feels as though we have had a holiday. Just two nights was enough to refresh us. It was just two hours away so not too much petrol either.
granny I can help with Northumberland holidays ideas too. It is a good idea to check out vouchers for visits in advance.
I understand your reluctance to spend unneessarily. I have spent so much in Costas in the RVI while waiting for doctors/midwives to finish with DD and baby that it has made quite a dent in my financial plans for this month. I don't begrudge it as I wanted to see them but begrudge the fact that Costas got it. Yesterday we took water and bananas with us and were better prepared. I wasn't just paying for me it was DH and 3 x DSs!!
I am another multiple miscarriage person so do understand how you feel. I felt a bit bad yesterday when granny said your babe would have been due around now and I am chattering on about my new DGD. It was my MIL who made ridiculous comments at the time. I really feel that someone who hasn't experienced it has no idea whatsoever.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thank you PLMBL, I do try and always think these things have made me the person I am today and I quite like me. That's the only way I can see to explain all this carp and I certainly wouldn't wish these things on my worst enemy and believe you me, there is more I could reveal and probably will for some who stay for my full 10yr+ journeyas I believe some of it is the route cause of my shopaholicism (BTW MSE doesn't like that word or even shopaholic and puts a wiggly line under it telling me its spelt wrong :rotfl:)

Thanks, we're staying in Haltwhistle, so any hints etc you can give re good places to go and eat will be much appreciated.please-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »Talking of holidays, I've booked a night in Edinburgh in August! I love Scotland and usually try to go there every year for a couple of days. We went to Edinburgh for 2 days 5 years ago and it was great. The hop on/hop off buses are good value and if you buy the tickets on-line they are much cheaper.please-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »I've read on your diary that you are keeping your age a secret, but if my maths are right you are more in the middle of mine and my Mum's ages!! Not really keeping it a secret, was just fun to make them guess but yes, your maths is right, although slightly closer to your mum than you. Thanks PB, as said above any hints etc muchly appreciated.
Don't feel bad, I'm sure PLMBL wanted to hear all about your DGD. As to your remark re ridiculous comments, most of mine came from my mum, who had been through it herself so should have known better.
I do, however, remember my MIL telling me when I was ill after the twins, 25 years ago, that my SIL, who'd had 1 baby the day my 3rd DD died, had walked into town pushing the pram and there was I lying on the sofa, like an invalid. My response "Well yes, she had a pram to push didn't she" If I remember rightly that shut her up for a bit.
Hope the baby is well today and that you've both had a good day today PB and PLMBL
