Hello, :hello: PLMBL thought I would pop in and say Hi.
Congratulations on your anniversary, sounds like you had a nice time.
I've read your diary right through and my you have been through the mill a bit - I take my hat off to your good spirit
I loved these little guys so much I thought I'd drop them back in today to make you smile. Very MSE, recycling :j
I saw the OT last week crossing the Falls Road bridge in NI of all places, had missed it when it came and left my home town last month. Who wants to stand in the rain to watch a cheese grater anyway. Have a lovely evening off, (gosh that's taken me ages to write as I turned on sticky keys on my laptop and couldn't work out how to switch them off)

Hi Gx2 :hello:, thanks for your lovely message and well done to making it through to the end of my wafflings :T.
Those little guys are fab, must figure out how to post them!! And :rotfl:at the cheese grater comment!! So true!! I watched it on the tv and it was a bit of an anticlimax, though I'm sure the atmosphere if you were actually there would make it special.

Aww Get well soon Granny
Xx Yes my sis is rather fab isn't she?
Haven't been at work today as I was too late to get my name down and someone else got the shift, doing a double next weekend to make up for it though _pale_.
DH and I locked horns a bit this morning as his mood hadn't improved and adding my pmt to the mix didn't seem to help :rotfl:. Things got a bit better by lunchtime though and after we dropped DS1 and his friend at gymnastics we took my Grandma out for coffee. She not only paid for us all but slipped me a tenner too :A. I love my Grandma and I hope to be just like her when it's my turn one day.
On the way home I dropped DH off at his mate's to help him put carpet on the walls of his DD's bedroom (she's a musician and this gives better sound for recording apparently!!) and then friend came in when he dropped DH home to go over plans re our bathroom. He will be coming back one night through the week for them to change the toilet over (we have one of those awful old fashioned toilets with the cistern up on the wall above) and then they will change the bath and sink next sat when friend is off work. He is worth his weight in gold and won't take any money for helping (as we won't for DH helping him), but I will get him something, especially in light of him getting us the concert tickets and it saving us a fortune on hiring a plumber.
Father's Day tomorrow and neither my Dad or FIL are still with us, but thankfully DH is :j. DS1 wrote his card out for his Dad earlier and put (with no help or prompting) 'To the best Dad a son could have, I'm glad you are still with me'.Puts it all into perspective.

That final line brought tears to my eyes - how magically sweet x
Love the sound of your Granny and with a role model like her I'm sure you will be the same with yours when the time comes x
Yuck the double shift next week, that's hard with everything else you have got going on.
Sounds like you've got a really good support network around you, which is really important in your circs. Hope DH has a better day tomorrow, it must be frustrating for you both x

Thank you :A.
DH and I both have wonderful friends, and as you know my sister and Grandma are both fabulous. I think I've mentioned my Mum over on your thread before. I love her dearly but sometimes I feel that I'm the parent and she's the child. She can get quite down and I'm always there to pick up the pieces but when she's up I hardly see or hear from her. She used to have DS1 stay over once a week when he was little but that all stopped years ago and DS2 has never stayed with her. Infact DS2 has never stayed out at all and the last time DS1 stayed out (at MIL's) was the night his brother was born and I was in hospital. I'm thrilled Mum has found her fiance and he's lovely but sometimes I think she spends more time with his family than her own and I feel sorry for my boys. Anyway, at least we have each other!

It's so sad when Grannies behave like that as they are spiting themselves. There is nothing quite like a GP/GC bond as I'm sure you know with your dear GM. Just cherish the time you have with your DC, as I'm sure you do, as who knows what is around the corner for us all.
I lost 2 DDs 25 years ago and it still hurts to this day. I always send them a Happy Birthday message on their birthday, March 1st, via FB usually, and change my profile picture for the days of their births and sadly, deaths shortly after. It may sound silly but it always makes me feel better.
It's funny how different people can be though as my brother died when he was 3 months old but rather than understand how I feel about my DDs, my mum tells me its time I got over it. It's not like I sulk over it/harp on about it, I don't really involve anyone else in my feelings at all. Although my OH, DC and close friends know how I feel, they respect that I need to take the time to reflect and remember and don't go out of their way to upset me on those days.
Your boys have got a fantastic mum and sadly we sometimes have to learn from our own mum's mistakes. I just hope that your mum never comes to a time when she has to regret her ways, or changes them before that time comes. I know that mine sulks over the bad relationship she has with the majority of her GC and my other DB, but doesn't do anything about it to change things. Rather seeming to expect them to make a fuss of her because she's their GM. That role I'm afraid gets what it deserves and the relationship has to be nourished and cherished.
Have a fantastic FD tomorrow and I really hope the next year brings all that you wish for and more x

I'm so sorry for your losses Granny. They say everything happens for a reason but some reasons are completely unfathomable and it must have hurt you to the core. It's only right that you should mourn them and acknowledge their special anniversary days and it's odd that your Mum would suggest otherwise.
My Mum did something similar when I had the miscarriage in September. For all my situation was far far less traumatic than yours (I hadn't planned or been trying to get pregnant, hadn't known I was pregnant until I was taken into hospital) it was still a big shock and an emotional time. There I was, on my birthday, in hospital having been told I was pregnant, possibly ectopic & needing an operation to remove it, possibly miscarrying, possibly a normal pregnancy but removing the coil would probably cause miscarriage anyway and my head was all over the place. When it was determined that it was a mc caused by the coil the best my Mum could offer was "well you couldn't have coped anyway". I was furious, if there's one thing I CAN do is cope!! My life is my children and more at any time in any circumstances would be welcome (even if I can see that having I newborn now would make working my 2 jobs slightly difficult!!).
All we can do is learn from their mistakes like you said XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
