  • Ok so Sis has been and gone. She said the £1k is an interest free loan but just to be paid back as and when, as she is in no rush for it. I've taken her ISA details and set up a bill payment so I can transfer funds whenever I feel like it, and we've both set up a spreadsheet so we can keep track on how much I've paid back. It should be easier for her to see it going into the ISA though as opposed to her bank account where it will be harder to spot amongst all the transactions. I've actually paid her £5 back already as it was a test to make sure I'd set up the bill payment with the correct details (which I had phew!:rotfl:) so I now owe her £995 :D. I want to balance paying her back though with concentrating on the LTSB balance which is now the highest rate we have at 5.9%. A few months ago I never dreamt I'd be able to say that :T.

Anyway, I cleared the remaining balance on the Santander card with the money this morning along with this months normal payment and I will ring up to cancel it tomorrow when the system has updated. Can't wait :j. It will save us lots of money in interest and it's only cost £8 for a cake which I bought my sister as a Thank You (She LOVES cake!!).

    yay sis :j

So pleased for you, there is definately nothing like the feeling of crossing off another debt from the list (and telling the lovely financial institutions where to sh*ve it :rotfl:)

Ah bless your lovely Mum. Hope she is ok tonight. And yes, it's definitely the interest rather than the original amount that causes the most problems.

You aren't wrong splodge, but amazingly I forgot to ring them today . Will look forward to that job tomorrow :D.

Achieved another NSD today :j. The first one this month :o.
We all went to visit a friend today as her DP was taken into hospital with chest pains yesterday  (turned out to be stress related not a heart attack) so they were both off work and at home. The kids all played together and DH, myself, my friend and her DP put the world to rights over coffee. It was nice to see them but they have a lot going on at the moment so I've got everything crossed they get it all sorted soon.

Came home and did some tidying up and then My Mum came over for tea which was a rare occurence as she has a very busy social life!!! She pushed £10 in my hand when she left :D.

Sister just text to say she is knocking £25 off the debt we owe her instead of giving DH a birthday present next week :rotfl:. So we now owe her £970.

  • Mum in Law looked after DS2 for us this morning while DH, DS1 and I went to the cinema to see Men in Black 3. It was really good! I got 2 of the tickets from a Gr0up0n deal a few weeks ago so it cost £6 today for the 3 of us.

Came home this afternoon and did some baking (scones and cookies) and then went to job 2 for a 4 hour shift tonight which went over quite quickly.

Home now, been fed and watered so need to catch up on some diaries and competitions.
