  • Well I could get used to this weather :cool2::cool2:!

DH's appointment went ok this morning but it wasn't quite what I expected. I thought he'd get regular follow up appointments and more by way of cognitive therapy, but we don't have to go back until mid August :(. However they have agreed to try him on Trazodone to see if it helps avoid/reduce the depressive/anxiety filled days that he has :). He cant have other types of antidepressants as they lower sodium and he has had a problem regulating his own sodium levels since the accident. He now takes 2 sodium tablets a day which has been whittled down from 9 per day over the last 11 months, and the last thing we want is for his levels to reduce again. They also said today that they expect his natural recovery period to be up to 3 years from date of accident, not 2 as we were first told, so rather than being half way to recovery he is more like a third of the way through. I'm seeing that as a positive.

Apart from that we went out for a walk in the sunshine to the park with DS2 before collecting DS1 from school, so I've enjoyed my day off. I've also done 4 loads of washing and line drying which is good, but I now have a huge ironing pile which is BAD.

Off out to get weighed soon. Hoping for 3lbs and then that will make a stone in 5 weeks. Don't know that I will get it though as thats a big ask after 4lbs off last week.

  • A rather disappointing half a pound off :(. However it's still a loss and it makes 11.5lbs off in 5 weeks :D.

  • Missed posting yesterday after a Scouts AGM took up my whole evening. God I live a rock and roll lifestyle!!!

Checked the balance on DH's Santander credit card and the money has cleared onto it from Barclaycard :jThat means £1229.40 outstanding that we need to clear asap so we can tell them to stick their APR where the sun don't shine!! I'm thinking if we can pay at least £250 a month it will be gone by end of October and that sounds fab to me :D.

Went into town this afternoon for DH to get his haircut and I wanted to get some new trainers as mine are minging :o. I haven't had any new ones for years (literally about 4 years) and I couldn't believe the prices. I ended up not getting any as I wasn't prepared to pay £38 for 'cheap' ones. Will look online later and go to the outlet shop on Sat to see if any bargains can be had.

  • Another gorgeous sunny day here :D. Had the kiddies outside most of the morning at job 1 and then after lunch it was DS2's fun run at school so yet more sunshine!! I hope it stays like this longterm, and then it makes staying at home for the summer a lot more bearable. On that topic though I think we have decided to have a day and night away to Edinburgh over the summer so we can see the Giant Pandas. Must get that booked - as cheaply as possible :o.

Not at job 2 tonight as I have yet another Beavers meeting (starting to wonder if its all worth it??!!), but I can't afford not to do a shift so I'm working tomorrow night instead. Not sure how I will feel about that come 5pm tomorrow though!!

  • Had a good weekend, today better than yesterday though as I've been off from both jobs :j.

Dropped DS1 off at his gymnastics yesterday and met my Grandma for coffee. She gave me £10 bless her :A. Went shopping for trainers for myself at the outlet shop and ended up getting them for DS2 instead :p. Then it was a quiet shift at job 2 until 9pm.

Today we have had a gorgeous family day out at a local English Heritage property with my Mum and her fiance. (My Dad passed away 5 and a half years ago aged 50 :(). We took a picnic and the boys had a great time exploring the ruins of the castle and playing in the grounds in the sunshine. It was a somewhat spendy day as it cost £20 to get in but I feel it was worth it as we got a lot from it. We need to make new memories for DH and we certainly did that :D. Besides, pre lightbulb we would've spent way more than that on a day out and bought lunch etc instead of taking a picnic, so I'm still pleased at sticking to today's budget!

  • Another gorgeous sunny day here but alas according to the nasty weatherman it will be the last one for a few days . So anyway, we made the most of it after I finished job 1 at lunchtime and went for a walk to the park in the next village with DS2. Amazingly it was deserted which is unheard of in the sunshine, but we enjoyed it all the more as we had it to ourselves (though we did have to share it with the midgies :().

Had an email saying my cooling off period re the energy supplier switch has now ended, so they will be forging ahead with the change :D. Bring on the money saving!!

On the otherhand my car tax is due   £250 for a year!!!

I sympathise with you on the expensive road tax. I find it difficult to understand why an old banger can be so much cheaper than what we are. Sometimes it's hard to understand how they work it out. I shouldn't complain, my son is over 400 pounds for his.

    Jeez £400!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally agree re the old banger comment, my car is 2 years old so its hardly a diesel spewing emissions leaking rust bucket. I need to get one of those 'rollerskate with an engine' cars that only cost £20 a year road tax :rotfl:.

  • Day off today so I met a friend and her little one at softplay. DH came too and kept the kiddies entertained in the play area while she and I chatted. Very relaxing for a change and it was great to catch up as we only meet once every couple of months.

After that we did a top up shop at Mr A's and then home to do some housework. I've sorted out our wardrobes so now have a bag of stuff to weigh in when we are next over that way and more importantly we now have more space.

Then it was off to my final slimmathon weigh in and I've lost another pound, making 12.5lbs in 6 weeks. I'm really chuffed but was hoping to meet the stone mark. Still, I'm on the right track and intend to keep it up as I still have quite a way to go to get to my goal weight. I've raised over £200 for the NSPCC though which makes me very proud!

Only got 2 more days at job 1 and then we break up for half term :j:j:j:j:j:j:j.

My sister has a rusty 12yo diesel with a 3 litre engine, and she's still cheaper than my 5yo 2 litre petrol one! My brother has a 1 yo 2 litre petrol and he's a lot cheaper than me too. I don't know how they work it out. I sometimes think they just make it up, :rotfl:
