Strange Request for a wedding?

What?!
That's disgusting. What kind of son would have give the go ahead for that on an invitation because of his own Father?
I'm shocked. And feeling very sad for the groom's Father.
So what if he's got an unruly beard, did they think he would spoil the wedding photos?
Did they think he would shave off his beard just for their wedding?
Vile, absolutely vile.
Sounds more like a family joke0 -
I have no problem with the fact that when I get married, 'no pure white or black outfits to be worn' will be going on my invites.
Same as I won't have calla lilies in my flowers - in my family they're a flower used solely for funerals. In my family and my head white is for the bride only and solid black outfits are for funerals.
I plan on having ushers ready to turf out anyone who turns up in solid black or white, petty maybe BUT it's MY wedding day and anyone who doesn't understand me well enough to comply with one simple request can sod off.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
What's wrong with a joke? I don't understand the response of the last couple of posters. If people lightened up a bit, life would be much more enjoyable.0

It's not about what you wear for a wedding that's important. It's the fact that you are there to share the special day.0

It does to me too - certainly not to be taken as a deadly serious warning!
Having said that, I'd have made a special invitation with the 'facial hair dress code'for the beardy dad (and maybe other family members in the know) and ordinary invitations for the rest. Just in caseI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

You can't actually stop anyone attending a wedding, by law the ceremony has to be open to anyone.0 -

The word Bridezilla comes to mind.... Personally if I received an invite dictating on what I could or could not wear I wouldn't go, so I'd be happy to 'sod off'. I'd also be saying 'sod the wedding gift too'. Whatever happened to weddings being about actually getting married and about 2 people making a commitment to each other? It's not about what the guests wear! Can I also just point out I was under the impression a wedding involved 2 people, however as it's YOUR day I suppose the groom may just be attending for a photo shoot?Never look down on anyone unless you are bending to help them up.....0 -

Most people wouldnt wear a full on white outfit to a wedding anyway - so unless you think your guests are really that stupid, why state the obvious? If I read that on an invite, Id think well they must think we're all a bunch of plonkers..and not want to go.
And black can look ok if its worn with coloured accessories or such like. Some people even have black bridesmaid dresses. So thats rather out of date to state that. And hello mens suits??
Id laugh if I saw an invite with something like that on. And it would make me want to turn up in massive white wedding dress.0
