Morning everyone, morning BC

Didn't have a NSD yesterday, I fell for a skinny cappuccino with an extra shot that was calling my name. Today WILL be a NSD.
I've been thinking a lot about Christmas this week, and I've decided to try and make it more of a "home made" Christmas this year. My food is always home made, but I'm going to try and make some of the gifts this year. I've been reading the preparing for Christmas thread and I'm full of ideas. First job is to dig out those half knitted socks I started last year and finish those off as a gift for someone. Second job is to collect empty toilet rolls to make crackers. I'm going to use the crackers as part of a Christmas hamper I'm going to try and make for people. Ideas so far for contents are:-
Bara Brith
Jam
Chutney
Homemade chocolate
Crackers containing a little gift
Things to do today:-
1. Go to work.
2. Do my laundry.
3. Start on the ironing.
Have the day off tomorrow as I was supposed to take my mum to hospital for an ultrasound scan but she's decided she's not going!

I'm back

No work for me today, but the weather is so awful I don't think I'll be stepping out the door. Its so foggy, I can't see the road at the bottom of the garden!
The moneysaving hasn't been brilliant these last few days, but only 5 days till payday (not including today) so I'm sure we can make it without any disasters.
BF's two boys have decided they want to stay with us for an extra week which has stretched the foot budget somewhat, but if BF is happy then I'm happy. I won't pretend its not hard work though
I've really got my thinking cap on for Christmas gifts I can make for people and have started to knit a jacket for DS1's girlfriend. Its been years since I've knitted anything, so if its not good enough to give anyone as a gift, I'll just keep it for myself. It'll keep me nice and warm in Winter. The wool has cost me £16.65, so if its giftable, it'll be a bargain. The needles were borrowed from my mum so they cost nothing, pattern was £1.80.
I've already collected seven toilet roll tubes for my crackers and am on the lookout for some nice little gifts to put inside.
Have a load of things to ebay this morning, and was hoping for a free listing weekend, but no such luck. I've just closed two cases with non paying bidders and have another two sales that ended a couple of days ago and haven't been paid for yet. I've come to the end of the line now with finding new stuff to ebay and I'm glad! If somebody could tell me how to set my preferences so that anyone with a non paying strike can't bid I'd be really grateful..........this is getting ridiculous now.
I couldn't get my hands on my laptop last night since BF's boys are still here so I got busy with my notebook and worked out a 4 week menu plan for next month along with a shopping list. The idea is to cook large amounts of each dish in the first week, freeze the extra portions and then defrost as and when required during the following weeks. I know this is what most of you have been doing forever, but I've never seriously followed a menu plan for the full month. Our budget for food is £200 per month and we always go over. Its usually just the two of us (plus my DS3 most of the time), with DS2 popping in when he comes home from Uni and DS1 staying over whenever he has to work in N.Wales. I know we should be able to manage on £200 or less, so this is my challenge for Month No 2 of my "sort yourself out in 5 years" target.
I think I've rambled enough for now, so I'm going to make myself a coffee and get started on these last bits I need to ebay (I also have a few bits to ebay for DS2).
Back later for another update. Hope everyone has a good NSD xFive years/60 months to sort myself out - Month 2/608.33% PAID

Mine and DS2's items duly listed.
I've also managed to change my buyer requirements to block bidders with non payment strikes on their accounts.
Don't know what to do now, can't do the hoovering BF's boys are still in bed!!! Never known anything like it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Five years/60 months to sort myself out - Month 2/608.33% PAID

S*d it! I'm trying really hard to treat them as my own so that's what I'm going to do.
If they were mine, they wouldn't be left to waste the day in bed, so I'm off to do some VERY noisy housework

That's the spirit! Will they be with you much longer?

Morning BC. I don't mind them really, they're good boys. They're here till Friday.
Back to work for me today, not really in the mood but there we are, it has to be done
I've just put some washing on the line to dry and its raining.............I thought this was supposed to be the hottest weekend of the year so far, someone got it wrong
DS2 and DS3 will also be here for dinner tonight, so its cooking for 6 this evening. I took some chicken out of the freezer last night so we'll probably be having chicken curry with rice or pasta - I'll ask them what they want and then probably have to cook a bit of both!
I'm hoping for a NSD today, but I have a feeling I'll probably have to buy some chocolate this morning

Morning

Four days and counting till payday!
Once I get paid, I can get the car insurance sorted. One little snag though, I'm not sure if I got caught by a speed camera on my way home from work yesterday. Totally my fault if I was, but an expense I could do without
I did some calculations last night, and its going to be a very tight month, so come one eb"y please stop sending me non-paying bidders.
Better go and get myself sorted. Hope everyone has a good day xFive years/60 months to sort myself out - Month 2/608.33% PAID

Back again

Payday arrived at long last yesterday, all bills paid and not a lot left over as usual. I'll be back later to update my totals. Ne*t has gone up a bit as has Debenhams, because I needed clothes for work (a necessity, I promise),
Still have stuff for sale on ebay with quite a few watchers so it looks quite promising. I have yet another non paying bidder and opened a case against her last night. Once I've sold all this stuff, I don't think i'll bother much with Ebay, its too much trouble at the moment. If someone contacted me to say they couldn't pay, yes, I'd be annoyed, but that would be better than just ignoring me and not replying to messages
Better go to work now, I'll be back later with my plan for the month and to update my totals (not that there's been much change!). Hope everyone has a NSD xFive years/60 months to sort myself out - Month 2/608.33% PAID

Our hottest weekend turned into a washout as well, this one seems to be going the same way.
eBay is royally peeing me off at the moment why bid if you've not intention of buying . I just can't wait to be done with it and my clutter cleared.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the camera didn't snap you.

I've just written a huge post and lost the whole thing
I'm really tired tonight, work was manic today with the bank holiday, so I just can't get my head around working out new totals tonight. I promise I'll do it all tomorrow.
Managed a NSD today, hoping tomorrow will be the same. Second bit of good news today........I managed to make about £60 on ebay today..........that's if they all pay of course. I'm not holding my breath, I've had about 6 non paying bidders in the last few weeks :mad::mad:
I'm not working tomorrow so I have a list of things to do:-
1. Change the beds after BF's sons and wash the bedding.
2. Give the bedrooms a deep clean.
3. Give the bathroom a deep clean.
4. Sort out car Insurance.
5. Sort out house Insurance.
6. Do the ironing.
7. Clean rest of house.
8. Go to mum and dads to pick up their laundry.
9. Batch cook loads of shepherds pie.
10. Batch cook loads of lasagne.
If I do all that I'll need another day off! I've booked 10 days off in September so I'm counting the days till then.
:D
I've set myself a budget of £200 for food this month and am determined not to go over it. I discovered Po**dland yesterday, I can't believe its taken me till now to find it
We spent £22 in P'land and £91 in Al*i yesterday but the cupboards are full today and loads of meals ready to be cooked. I just need to get organised.
Ok, I'm off to lurk on other people's diaries. I promise to be back to update totals tomorrow xFive years/60 months to sort myself out - Month 2/608.33% PAID
