Back again, we've just had the worst rain shower ever!
I'm happy to say I've had another NSD today
I'm also happy to say I got a refund of £8.73 from the Insurance company I paid to insure my car yesterday. I made a mistake and only claimed 8 years "no claims" but apparently I have 9 years "no claims" and they've credited the difference back to my account. Who'd have thought it!! I'm really impressed with them :T
When the refund hits my bank account, I'll round it up to £10 and pay it off my N*xt account.
My plan is to get this one paid off asap, hopefully before the end of the month and have the Deben*ams paid off before April, because that's when I can stop paying the ex for DS3's keep (even though he spends half his time here, and I also pay for his clothes, mobile phone and half his college expenses).
I won't go into too much detail, but this really grates with me because my ex is on approx £60k, which is about 3 times my wage. He threatened to get the CSA involved if I didnt agree to the Court Order. Actually I would probably pay less if the CSA were involved as DS3 spends so much time here (which is more than fine by me!) He wasn't a very nice man:(
Of course, even then I'll never stop helping my boys. The difference would be that the money would go into DS3's account and not the ex's account.
I'll stop ranting now, but this means a possible extra sum of money available each month to blitz those cards. I'd love to be down to one card by Christmas 2013, but we'll see
I couldn't sleep last night for all the figures going round in my head, I'm so impatient to get this paid off, and want to see some progress.
Sorry about the moan, this diary is meant to be for my moneysaving ramblings and not for ex bashing, but sometimes I slip up even though I try hard not to.

Bless you he sounds like a d*** least he's your ex now :j
Looks like your getting good at the batch cooking. I've been finding that I enjoy my frozen ready meals more than exspensive shop one's that usually taste like cardboard and are full of rubbish.

I know why I love my BF...........he's just arrived home from his night out with a bottle of wine for me
:D
Of course, I told him off for spending his pennies, then poured myself a glass
Just been reading about the BT price rises. I think I'll probably cancel when I get the letter detailing the changes. Apparently, if you cancel within 10 days of receiving the letter, they don't charge you a cancellation fee. I think we may change to Sky as they have what seem to be quite good packages on offer at the moment, with £100 M&S vouchers plus if you go through a certain cashback site, you get about £100 cashback if I remember correctly. I just need to keep an eye out for this letter now.
For once, I've been lucky with my electricity supplier, I signed up to a fixed tariff for two years about two months ago. I hope that keeps the price rises at bay for a little while.
Just watched this week's episode of "The Great British Bake Off" on iplayer, now I really fancy some treacle tart

Had a lovely day today that just turned into a "bleurgh" day
:(
Why do exes still have the power to turn the nicest of days into the worst? It just makes you want to go AAaaaargh :mad::mad:
Feel much better now
Ok, no more down in the dumps tonight. Up till about six o clock this evening, today was a great day, really productive, so I'm just going to pretend the last couple of hours didn't happen.
Good things about today:-
1. Today was a NSD. That makes about 4 or 5 so far this month.
2. BF cut the grass and I did the weeding. The front of the house is now looking lovely and tidy.
3. Went foraging for blackberries, ok, I didn't have to forage very far, because there's an empty field next to my house full of blackberries, but its the same principle! I got about 700g which are soaking in salted water. The plan is to make jam out of them to go into the hampers I'm going to make people for Christmas. I haven't got enough yet though, so I'm going to freeze them as I go till the remainder are ready to pick, then hopefully I'll have enough for a couple of jars of yummy blackberry jam.
4. Dried my washing outside and everything ironed and put away. Works uniform ready for the morning.
A week has gone by since payday and so far my "extra" spends have totalled £10. It will have go up tomorrow though, because its my turn to pay for the lottery.

Hello, hope everyone is doing ok today.
I have to confess to a spend today. I spent £8 on two ice cream sundaes for myself and OH at lunchtime.
I think it was because I've been feeling a bit low these last couple of days, my mum's not very well at all, so I fell for something sweet and bad for me.
I really don't know what to do for the best to help her, she's given up on everything, and keeps telling us we'd be better off if she wasn't here. So far this month she's refused to go to two doctor's appointments and I just keep seeing her go downhill every day. Its horrible
.
My brother lives miles away and only sees my parents every other month. Whenever he comes up she puts on a completely different front, so when I try to tell him how bad she is, he thinks she's fine and I'm making things up!
Its days like this that make me want to go out and spend money to make myself feel better, but I managed to stop at two sundaes, just before I started eyeing up a huge garden ornament that would've looked completely out of place in my garden anyway
Not sure if all this is relevant to a spending diary, but up to now most of my spending has been to try and make myself feel better. At least I stopped at ice creams today.
I hope tomorrow will be a better MSE day xFive years/60 months to sort myself out - Month 2/608.33% PAID

Another new day today

Work again for me, but I don't really mind because the weather is really awful here today, wet and foggy
Was feeling sorry for myself last night, but not today, today, will be a "just get on with it" sort of day.
Parent's laundry is all ready to go so will pop in on them on the way to work later to drop that off.
I know it sounds daft, but I just felt a huge sense of achievement this morning. What had I done? Nothing special, only come to the end of a pot of facecream! I'm hoping this means I'm starting to change the way I think about things because its probably the first time I've used a whole jar, even the last bit out of the corners! Pre LBM, I always used to buy pots and pots of the stuff and never finish the last one before opening a new one. What a good start to the day
:D
I won't be having a NSD today, I'm going to buy a Sunday paper and a nice coffee in my lunch hour. I haven't bought a coffee since the 24th, so I'm going to enjoy this one
Hope everyone has a nice Sunday and I hope the weather's better wherever you are. I'll probably be back later to waffle some more xFive years/60 months to sort myself out - Month 2/608.33% PAID

Mmmm, coffee and a Sunday paper - that sounds bliss!! Hope work's not too demanding for you today. Enjoy the fact that you're earning money today while the rest of us are stuck indoor because of the weather

I'm loving the extended Sunday Olympic opening hours. I need to make a supermarket trip and have been a bit lazy all day. I'll just have a shower now and head out. New month, new shopping budget! I have my list made and I've just had lunch so no temptation to spend on things I don't need!
Waffle away, I'll be ready for your next instalment later

Glad to hear your feeling positive :j Hope you've enjoyed your day. I had to work today aswell. Sometimes I like that I don't get weekends off I prefer shops, pubs and restaurants when their quieter so having weekdays off suits me.

Hi Hannah, hi Susie! Glad you both had a good day

Today was ok, not too busy but enough to keep me going. I don't really mind working weekends, I just think of the overtime heading my way. It makes a huge difference to my wages.........about £250 per month
Spends today were a newspaper and skinny cappuccino (not sure how you spell that!) with an extra shot.....lovely
The woman in the shop had a laugh because when I got there, I couldn't remember what I'd gone in for
So, in a way, my spend was justified because if I couldn't even remember what coffee I'd gone in for, I must've really needed that cappuccino (sp?) this morning
Moneywise, today was a good day. I sold something for £100 (not on eb*y) and sold something for £32 (on eb*y). I just hope they both pay. Most of it will go into a pot for Christmas, but some of it will go towards paying off my Ne*t bill. I haven't decided on the amounts yet, I need to wait to make sure they both pay up first. I've had a bad run on e*ay recently with non-paying bidders. I also had to cancel a sale the other day because someone from Berkshire had bid on and won an item I had listed as pick up only. I wish people would read descriptions properly and only bid on items they intend to pay for :mad:
DS2 and DS3 have just left, they've been here for dinner and as usual ate me out of house and home. Don't know how he does it but DS2 can always find my chocolate stash, no matter where I hide it! He's back off to Uni in a couple of weeks and DS3 is back to College on Tuesday. I'll really miss DS2 when he goes back, but he's not too far away, so I can always pop down to see him.
I'm off for a lurk on other people's diaries now. Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow. One good thing about working weekends is that Monday always feels like Wednesday to me

Thank goodness today has been a NSD :j:j:j
I've also made two overpayments today (at long last!) :-
1. I paid an extra £20 off my Ne*t account.
2. I paid an extra £7.86 off my mortgage to round the total down to £72k. Not a very big overpayment, I know, but we all have to start somewhere
I'm hopeful I'll be able to get rid of the Ne*t debt before the end of October, then I can throw everything at the Debenh**s account.
DS1 just been one the phone. He has a business meeting up here on Wednesday morning, so I get to see him for lunch :j
I'll have to think of something nice (but frugal) to cook for him.
Just tomorrow left to work, then I get two days off. I took Wednesday off to take my mum to the hospital to see her consultant, but she's refusing to go (again!).
