Daughter cut leg on broken shelving

Very good point there, HO will obviously get to hear about it due to accident report and a letter of praise from me about staff would go in favour
Sounds like a good balance to me.
OK, I know I don't explain things well but I will try to keep it short
Don't want anyone to get in trouble, they were lovely.
If a child damaged an eye on a protruding piece again, I would not forgive myself for doing nothing
Does that make sense?
Need a good sense of humour here with you lot.
Either that or a straight jacket 0 -
No, that's only the second time I have been there, it's over 25 miles to get there
I live in a tiny town which caters for caffiene addicts and people with expensive taste in clothes not 10 year olds with birthday money to spend0 -
It must have been a shock for everyone involved, but glad to hear no major injury, just a bit of a shock!
SIL worries me a bit, I must say - "solicitors, or how many other children will they harm" is a pretty terrible excuse for trying to get compo - of course nobody at TRU *wants* to hurt customers, so exactly zero more children will be hurt as they remedied the problem on the spot! I also think it would send all the wrong messages to your DD too, to be honest.
As for you, OP, I think your attitude rising above some of the slightly sneerier tones has been admirable. If you do write to HO, a note congratulating the staff for handling the situation well would be well received. I can't imagine anybody's job really is in any kind of danger for a worn shopfitting, but a note to HO would reassure everyone they don't need to get their insurers involved.
I hope your DD had a good Easter and found something nice with her fiver.0 -
Yep accidents happen even though they are scary at the time.
I do hope your little darling is feeling better now.
I'm afraid about your SIL's attitude, making a claim is not always the best solution.
As for the poor chap who was shaking, bless him it might have been his first time in dealing with a problem, especially traumatic with a child.
Best wishes.

As for my parents, they would probably sue all the way. lol.
then dont think about claiming
yep this is the way,not forgetting to add a thank you to the store staff, and ask them to put a simple proceedure in place to do a visual inspection of the store just before opening, minor accidents like this help us all to improve safety and prevent more serious injuries
yep and everyone else ends up paying for their attitude, any payment of compo is clawed back by price increasesI

Nervous staff, where is that leading? It was leading nowhere, just thought it strange, had they not dealt with anything like this before? meaning normally instore safety was good.
"Is that all' My daughter is 10, has a muscle wasting illness and from such a quiet little thing to be sobbing, sweating and also overwhelmed by the attention, yes, that is all!!!!!!
I was asking for opinions balancing out common sense and instore safety.
Would you like to tell me where I am over reacting? If I were over reacting would I be asking on here for balanced opinions?
Thank you Lip-Stick, so many settings on my camera from normal, auto, supermacro, macro
